We went there for lunch and had to wait for a table but with a bottle of wine outside on a lovely sunny day it went really fast. Great overall experience from delicious food and wine through great ambiance of this small place with an outstanding service from Daniel. Professionalism in the most friendly way. Definitely the best customer service in Lisbon on this trip. It's totally worth visiting for all those reasons :)

Google
Honestly the best lunch in the city. Our dishes were top notch, perfectly balanced, and very filling. The octopus with chorizo was out of this world. Or waiter was the perfect host, offering a delightful recommendation for dishes and wine. The restaurant was very intimate, perfect for the escape away from the throngs just down the street at pastis de belem. My only wish is to have stayed longer and try every dish!

Google
Such a superb, tucked away gem. Intimate contemporary place with fantastic food and an amazing selection of wines. The sommelier was brilliant and every wine suggested was spot on. Worth making the trip over to, especially if it's just the two of you

Google
Great service. Delicious food and great wine selection. A must in Lisbon. Loved their seafood and their soups. You must reserve in advance but between lunch and dinner times there is availability.

Google
The food are tasty and delicate, the octopus was very easy to chew by the way. Also, the waiters were quite friendly and professional with wines, I will be back if I go to Lisbon again.

Google
Local guide recommended this restaurant and I thank her very much. I tried beef steak and duck. They are wonderful and my wife & son fully enjoyed the meal. No more comments. Just visit, order and please your tongue.

Google
Fantastic lunch. It's small and it fills up quickly. Great service and gorgeous food. The bonus for us was that the queues had all disappeared by the time we finished our lunch

Google
Small little restaurants with only a few tables but lots of character. Pork belly was just divine, and so was the bisque. Staff was super friendly.

Yelp
Located in a very touristy neighborhood but... If you're looking for a small and out of the big crowd path, gastronomic small but full menu and awesome wine + Porto to choose and/or be guided through, this would be a good place to try. My freind had the pork belly, crispy tasty yummy! I had the cod, found it too dry, but the sauce and veggies were very tasty. We were offered to taste between 2 wine under the waiters suggestions according to the kind we prefer and after dinner we had another tasing for older wine. Lovely dining experience. The place is very small and can only take around 12 guests, it is very busy during lunch so strongly suggest to make a reservation.

Yelp
This was the best meal I had in Lisbon! I stopped in for a solo lunch trying to find a good place to eat in a very touristy area. Enoteca did not disappoint! I got the tuna steak which was fantastic!! The bread was also yummy. The service was great as well and everything is local which is really nice. Very reasonable prices as well - I paid about 20 euro for a glass of wine and the tuna steak.

Yelp
Probably my favorite place in Lisbon The best service and a perfect matching of food and wine. Let them decide for you; it will be a unique experience

Yelp
Went twice, savoring different foods each time. Was not disappointed with either time. The staff is a buzz, watching over all guests. Teamwork + .

Yelp
This place was FANTASTIC! The energy of our waiter was awesome. He drew us in from the street and took the best care of us and helped us immensely. We chose a meal which he recommended but wanted to taste the wild boar they had on the menu. He brought out a small plate of the dish just for me to say I had tried it - had never eaten wild boar before!! And it was tender and delicious. The other meals were well rates by those that are with me with lots of . Meal sizes were very well portioned and came with a nice salad. Definitely a stop by place for a great meal!

Yelp
One of the best meals I have ever tasted! This place is a treasure. It is a little hidden but if you find it you are in for a treat. Everything was absolutely perfect. Everything! The service was excellent. The food was absolutely delicious. The price was very reasonable. We loved the total experience.

Yelp
Nicely hidden from the regular tourist restaurants in Belém, this is a great place to escape the crowds and enjoy some great food and wine. We came in for lunch without a reservation, but managed to get the last table. It is a very small restaurant with few tables, so I would recommend booking ahead if you can. The food options are of course sea food primarily all of which sounded great. My wife went for a cod dish, which was perfectly cooked with simple but well presented vegetables. I went for the roast octopus, which was some of the best I have tasted in a long time. The food presentation is excellent and stands well ahead of anything you can get locally and competes with the best in Lisbon. One of the other key reasons to visit is the wine list. A fantastic wide selection of Portuguese wines, most of which are served by the your overwhelmed by the choice, just ask. The staff are ready to makes recommendations based on your preferences and share their knowledge about the producers and the styles. If you enjoy great food, then you will not be disappointed. If you enjoy a wine journey as well, then this is the place to visit. Great value considering the standards that are served up here.

Yelp
It's down a small narrow street just past the famous pastry shop. If you get to the police box you went too far. Well worth it. We dropped in at 5 to make a reservation. Smart move. When we came back at 7 they were turning folks away. Soup was excellent. Entrées of lamb and veal both perfectly prepared. Wine list also great.. As you would expect from a place named enoteca.. Much better than the restaurants on the main street. If you are in Belém for the day or afternoon, well worth the stay to have dinner.

Yelp
Very good food but small quantity Very good wines 75€ for 2 people with 3 glasses of wine and no dessert

Yelp
Great octopus, the best we had in Portugal. Not cheap! I think it was like 16-18 euros for mains, which given its casualness down an alleyway from touristy Belem, doesn't justify the price. Still, it is a great lunch place after the monastery or surrounding sights. Food was slow in coming out though, so do budget like 1.5 hours for lunch here.

Yelp
This place was recommended to us by a local as a great wine bar when in Belem. We decided to give this place a go. It is not easy to find as it is down a very narrow lane and you would not guess this place exists in this lane. It is an almost all Portugese place with wine and food sourced locally from Portugal. The owners also make their own wines and represent a number of good Portugese wine. We tried a few wines by the glass and all of it was recommended by the host and we loved ever one of them. We also had a Portugese platter which had some excellent cold cuts, morcilla and cheeses. I loved every bit of this plate. We also had a couple of hot small plates and they were good but I cannot remember exactly what the dishes were called. I will definitely return here next time I come back to Portugal.

Yelp
Came here while vacationing and was able to grab a table for two. We were wearing tourist gear: braided hair, rain jackets, socks and sneakers. I had identified this place as a place I wanted to come to, so was excited to arrive and be able to get a seat in their small establishment (many turned away after us). We realized we were out-dressed by some fancy locals, but we didn't mind. Sat down, and male waiter comes over to take our order. I asked for some wine, along the Pinot noir taste, and he launched into this really embarrassing rant at me. "Really? You think you can walk in here and order Pinot noir from a restaurant like this?" It went on for like, 30 seconds and I could feel the eyes of other diners in this quiet establishment while he just completely embarrassed me. I squeaked out an, 'I don't know, I just want some wine' and he grabbed me something like a Pinot, and said it was only served in that restaurant. It was very good, but I was too concerned with the fact that he had just been one of the rudest waiters I've ever come across. My friend was also embarrassed so we just sat in silence for a while. It makes me cringe just to think about the experience. Then the food: Amuse-bouche - tempura octopus bite. Delicious. Started with a pork soup, it was also delicious. The mushrooms were the best part. My friend started with the vegetable soup, hers was even better. I asked for another recommendation for red (hell no was I going to try to order), and this one wasn't as good, he said it was a Syrah but it tasted bitter. Also, bread and goat butter/olive oil was yummy. My friend's main was the tuna. It was good. I liked mine better, the codfish with crispy potatoes and olives. The codfish was perfectly cooked and seasoned well. I was shocked at how good the food was after our waiter's display, but the wine and good food helped me forget it for a bit. For dessert, I asked for Madeira and he said he had a port I would like. It was good. Our crumble dessert was also yummy. Very inexpensive for the quality, maybe around 50 euro for all of these truly delicious courses, big kudos to the chef. Go here if you want good food, but beware of rudeness. 5 stars for food, 1 star for being made to look like an ass to the whole restaurant = 3 stars.

Yelp
Fresh fish dishes! The wait staff is very knowledgeable about the food and wine. The service is impeccable. This is a hidden gem in the middle of the Lisboa

Yelp
Excellent gastro place in Lisbon ! Service is great, meals are delicious and original (pumpkin crumble for desert was incredible), and the place is truly lovely. Nice wine, too. Highly recommend it !

Yelp
Now this is one of the best meals I had in Lisbon. And how great staff, generous and helpful with choosing wines. I went there for a solo-lunch after trying to find something not touristy in this part of Lisbon, which is a challenge. Started off with a salmon tartar with miso, was surprised by how perfect the Japanese flavors were combined in this what appears to be a traditional Portuguese restaurant. The waiter, or sommelier is probably more fair, asked if I preferred red or white. That was it. Then he came out with a couple of options for white and had me taste them to make sure I was content. It was perfect. Later in the meal I asked the waiter about green wines and how I can find a green wine that is..good and not so tart like the one's I've had. He started explaining but cut himself off in the middle of a sentence to go an get a bottle for me to try. He didn't even ask, he just took the unopened bottle and unscrewed it, pouring up a generous glass for me. It was delicious, and no he did not even charge me for it it turned out. Continued with a white fish for main, and saved myself for dessert since I wanted to go and get a pastis at Pastis de Belem. This was absolutely one of my best meals in Lisbon during my three weeks there. Hoping to go back soon.

Yelp
Hands down the best meal and dining experience I have had in Lisbon. We did not have reservations, but arrived at 7:00 PM right when they opened. We were lucky to get a table, as there was only one left (there are fewer than 10 small tables in the restaurant). Anyone that came after us without a reservation was turned away, so I definitely recommend calling ahead. We took all of the waiter's recommendations and were not disappointed. He selected specific wines for each course, all of which were perfect (though to be fair, I rarely meet a wine I don't like). We each had the chorizo appetizer, and I had the venison entree. I have never enjoyed venison until tonight - if I didn't know better, I would think I was eating a piece of filet mignon. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a unique dining experience. All of the plates were prepared with unique and specific flavors, while still being highly enjoyable to the average diner. And for two people with 3 glasses of wine apiece plus desserts, the bill was less than 100 euros.

Yelp
Love this place. Great for a low key delicious dinner and wine. They have a set menu with wine pairings and they are very generous with their pours. Expensive but worth every penny!

Yelp
Researched a spot for a final dinner in Lisbon and wasn't finding much. Saw reviews and decided to try this one. Worked out very well. They open at 1, and run until close without a break. I called a day in advance and made a reservation, also inquiring about vegetarian options. They said "no problem" and immediately asked about various foods (dairy, egg, etc). When we arrived and checked in, he mentioned that he had spoken with me yesterday and pointed to the book which said "vegetarian" highlighted. We grabbed a table and had an amazing experience. Great service, wonderful knowledge of Portuguese food and wine (and very willing to spend all the time in the world discussing with you). Setting has been described by others, but I'll echo that it is very small (8-10 tables) with a few seats at the bar.. Beautiful setting, very cozy. But make a reservation to be safe. They started us with a couple glasses of champagne. While relaxing, we saw the chef wander in carrying a couple bags of produce. Amuse-bouche was a shot of vegetable pure+foam (clearly also customized for my table). My food was exceptional; they made an excellent arugula-fig salad with crisped local cheese and a very light dressing. Main for me was faux-risotto (as they explained it) of mushrooms, nuts, and greens (made by taking regular local rice and washing the starch out to then cream it... very good result). My wife's main was the veal steak which she raved about. Can't remember her starter. On wine, we just told them "you know what to do, just bring us wine that matches each course or bring us a bottle". The wine is priced at a set price per glass or per bottle, no matter which wine you select, giving you complete freedom to try things. Dessert was a chocolate brownie in a strawberry "soup". They split the dish onto two plates for serving. Added two glasses of port. Brownie was a tad dry, but the strawberry was perfect. Highly recommended. Make a reservation. Our strategy was to visit the monastery right down the street late in the day, eventually getting booted to then tour the church and archaeological museum. Then when those closed, we walked around and ended up at the restaurant early for our 7:30 reservation. But it was a good use of transport and logistics to bundle up the reservation with the monastery and save having to get back out to Belem -- and a sub-10 euro cab fare back to our hotel. Tab for two was $90 Euros -- around $120-$125 USD. Well worth it.

Yelp
Ultimately, food was good but somewhere I would go to if I were in the area rather than making a special trip. I came here because it was on Eater's list of Lisbon's essential restaurants, so perhaps my expectations were higher than they should have been. Service was attentive and very friendly. Wine was also very good. I got a scallops appetizer and the scallops seemed like they had been previously frozen or not entirely fresh. I got an octopus entree, which was quite delicious, and we also got a "fish of our ocean" entree which was good but nothing special. I think this is a nice restaurant if you happen to be in the area. Food was nicely presented but in the end only the octopus impressed.

Yelp
It's a nice wine bar that serves good food near a very touristy neighborhood. However, this place is situated in a relatively quiet small alley that's a nice break from all the hustle and bustle of Belem. It's actually super near the Pasteis de Belem shop as well. I tried the pork entree here, and it was a little too salty for my taste. The beef (can't remember if it was veal) entree was good, the bacalau one was so so. However, I loved the goat butter they served with the bread. The prices aren't cheap, but it feels like a nice romantic hideout in middle of Belem.

Yelp
Elegant wine bar and restaurant in the Belem district. Great atmosphere with even greater food!

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem. Don't go to the laminated placard tourist traps if you can get a table here. The wines by the glass is better here than most bottles I've ordered at high end restaurants. Goat milk butter for the bread. Venison with seared peach and a small loaf of homemade olive bread. It was perfect.

Gaelyn Z.

Yelp
Delicious lunch with an excellent wine pairing as recommended by the owners. This is a perfect, small wine bar to relax and enjoy a meal.

Joanna W.

Yelp
The server literally laughed when a coworker and I (two winemakers and Sommeliers from the States) asked if we could have a glass of wine and an app. He said they didn't have starters. If I wanted shitty service and no starters I would go to McDonald's. Go elsewhere if you're full up on pretension.
google avatar

Aria H.

Yelp
The codfish was delicious, though for the price the portion was just a bit too small. Tucked away in an alley but nice ambience.

Vinay P.

Yelp
I had an incredible meal at Enoteca de Belem. It is located a bit off the beaten patch in a nondescript alley in the Belem neighborhood. The restaurant itself is modestly sized but decorated tastefully and the host is very welcoming. The food is phenomenal- I ate a wonderfully fresh seafood dish and a slice of chocolate cake for dessert. The host had some great suggestions on wine pairing and I found that the wine selected complemented the meal perfectly. Overall, the space is small but very welcoming and comfortable, the food is phenomenal and the hospitality/service was outstanding. I can't wait to visit again the next time that I visit Lisbon. I highly recommend it.

Yelp
really good food served well and fantastic wine to match. Small so reserve, it is very safe to leave yourself in the hands of the waiter to help you choose your wine. Food is Portuguese with a really nice modern twist. Really worth the money.

Yelp
Find this place! It is a small restaurant just off the Main Street in Belem. Very, very good food and excellent wine. We arrived for lunch just after opening are we're lucky because with did not reserve. The octopus and fish were excellent as was the traditional Belem sausage - feireninha(?). Not knowing Portuguese wine, we went with the recommendation and it was very good. A superior satisfying meal.
