Ensana Buxton Crescent

"The 19th century was a golden age for Buxton, when high society traveled from around the UK to bathe in the town’s thermal waters. Today, guests of the Buxton Crescent, in the rolling hills of the UK’s Peak District, can still “take the waters” in a historic hotel with all of the modern comforts. Among the eight treatment rooms, many of which retain the original 18th-century stained-glass windows, the spa offers a wide range of treatments, from hot stone massages to CO2-infused mineral baths to hydra glow facials. The facilities feature biothermal and infrared saunas, an indoor-outdoor rooftop pool, a moody relaxation pool, and fully refurbished Victorian baths filled daily with thermal water. The salt cave can be a salve for respiratory conditions." - Caitlin Gunther

A fantastic hotel located in the peaks and dog friendly which was perfect for us. Lovely breakfast with so much choice, lovely juices, yoghurts and pastries - with fresh coffee to. The rooms are lovely, we couldn’t hear anyone else which is nice when you’re wanting to relax. All the staff were lovely and quick to help when required. The Spa was absolutely amazing and we used it everyday after a long walk! We plan to return again with friends and their dog!||The only things we noted, which aren’t criticisms but more for improving:||Phones in the spa. There were several people just constantly filming whilst we were using the spa and we found that it took away the relaxation aspect of our stay as we were trying to avoid people’s social media. It’s one of the best spa’s we’ve been to, but as a suggestion I think making people put their phones away for a couple of hours would make it nicer! Bath Thermal spa do it with little lock cases.||Secondary, at breakfast the system seemed to be slightly disorganised. You’d get shown to a seat and offered tea and coffee which was lovely but then we waited for roughly 30 minutes before having a breakfast order taken - on both mornings. The first morning we had the dog in the lounge and unfortunately we had been forgotten about. We had to go back to the main dining room and ask for someone to come take our order. On the second morning we dined without the dog, shown straight to a table and offered tea & coffee but then waited for 25 minutes for a breakfast order. Perhaps a better method would be ask for tea and coffee, then once it is brought take the order then? The staff were all lovely and were quite busy for a Monday/Tuesday service , it would be interesting to see during extremely peak times how it runs.

The hotel and spa facilities were absolutely stunning. Our room (408)was beautiful , it was like our own apartment. And the spa was very well maintained and very clean. And all the staff were more than helpful. A glass of fizz on arrival was a nice touch. The only thing we think let the experience down was the breakfast. Which was such a shame as we were so looking forward to it. In our opinion it wasn’t worth £25 each. My husband had the full English breakfast, he said the bacon and sausages were delicious, but the black pudding didn’t taste of anything. I had the eggs Benedict, the poached eggs were spot on, the ham was cold, as was the muffin, which didn’t seem to be toasted to me. Overall though it’s a beautiful hotel to stay at, and the spa facilities were fabulous! I would recommend it to our family and friends. We would definitely stay again, just maybe order a different breakfast? I hope you take this as positive feedback, as I think feedback of any kind is helpful.

I booked a 1 night stay with full use of the Spa facilities & Swedish back massage for my partner & me. This was a birthday surprise spa break for the other half, & both spa & hotel exceeded my expectations. The hotel went above & beyond by playing a birthday video on the tv in the room, happy birthday greeting decorated plate with a small biscuit & a signed birthday card wishing him a happy birthday & an enjoyable stay. That was such a nice touch, thank you so much for making it extra special. The building inside & out is absolutely stunning, & the food is to die for. The Spa also was very relaxing and we had a great massage. Staff very attentive & friendly. Highly recommend & we will definitely return. Many Thanks.

Got married on 04/10/2025. Clear and prompt communication. Transparent with pricings. Everything ran on time. All the staff were professional and warm in mannerisms. Received loads of compliments on the choice of venue. Great places to photograph - inside and outside. Would recommend to any friends and family in the future :)

I have just returned from an overnight stay in a junior suite at the Buxton crescent Hotel. I booked a spa package with dinner, bed and breakfast, for myself, my daughter and my 21 year old granddaughter. We had a junior suite as that was large enough for all of us to share a room. ||The main bed was huge, so easily accommodated my daughter and granddaughter, while I had the sofa bed, which was very comfortable. ||The room is beautiful, with Penhalligan toiletries, which were lovely. ||The bathroom had a roll top bath and walk in shower and was very large and beautifully appointed. ||The food was excellent, we had breakfast and dinner, with excellent service.||The spa is beautiful. We used the roof top pool, which is kept lovely and warm, plus the indoor thermal pool and a 3rd spa pool. ||We also had use of the salt cave, which was a 25 minute time slot for the 3 of us to relax in the lovely cave that has a deep layer of salt covering the floor. ||We all had a facial treatment the next day, which we booked at 11am as we were checking out.||We used the valet parking, which took away any stress of trying to find a parking space in a long stay car park. You can park outside to drop off and pick up luggage if you prefer to find your own parking though .||All in all, it was a lovely stay and a great way to celebrate my granddaughter's 21st birthday. ||I am definitely planning a return visit.

We had the most incredible experience at Buxton Crescent from the customer service to the attention to detail we could not have asked for more. We were staying for my daughter’s 21st and it was perfect from beginning to end. The hotel staff were fantastic and the spa was amazing. We had everything we wanted, a great room, so well appointed, a fantastic meal and a truly impressive breakfast! Thank you so much for a memorable stay. We can’t wait to come back soon.

We had a great stay. Room excellent, clean and comfortable. Plenty of tea, coffee etc and all items were refreshed daily. The staff we interacted with were all polite and professional and we found it so nice that all the staff, even if they were in the middle of something, would take the time to say good morning if we were passing. We only ate breakfast at the hotel but good selection to choose from each day. Only downside is parking. You can have valet parking, payable to the hotel or you have to park at meters in the long stay car parks situated about a 5 - 10 minute walk from the hotel

An excellent hotel, with well trained staff who do listen to you. Great breakfasts with a wide choice of fresh food. Our room was spacious and decently appointed. |Only a couple of small points. Emergency exit points would be easier to navigate if they were a bit better signed on the exit route, and perhaps you could reassure guests about the parking arrangements. My wife was worried on this issue. |Otherwise a great place to stay. We have tried, over the years, most hotels in Buxton; and Buxton Crescent is the outstanding one!
