Ensana Grand Margaret Island Health Spa Hotel

The location is very tranquil, right on the Margaret Island with a bus stop outside the door. The bus takes you downtown within 20 minutes. This was perfect for us as we came for the spa and only ventured out to grab dinner. The hotel room was lovely, had a good size and all amenities needed. The hotel has a charming old-time vibe. There is a wide selection of breakfast items that have a good quality. To get to the spa in the hotel next door, there is an underground corridor, so you can simply walk over wearing your bath robe. The spa has a decent size for a hotel and it has pools with thermal water. The corridor was quite chilly though.

A very helpful and customer-oriented hotel team! The reservation agents kept in touch despite the winter holidays, and the receptionists did their best to ensure an early check-in and a convenient payment option. Keep it up! The only improvement I would suggest is to introduce the possibility to select either a day stay or a night stay depending on arrival/departure schedules. You would not get a quality night sleep: the mattresses are either very old or very badly made; they do not hold the shape, same for the pillows. We stayed there for 5 nights and I could not wait to leave this place as I really need a nice night's rest. |The bathrooms are small, getting a shower is a risky step as there is a glass attached to the tub that splits the entrance in half. Breakfast is not as good as expected: tasteless fruits, not well- washed, scrambled eggs/ omelet is overcooked or they used the dry eggs powder to make it. Pastries are ok, however they did not look or taste like freshly baked. Bread, butter, jams and honey selection was nice. The spa and hotel are connected through a long corridor, underground, designed in odd colors, orange walls and yellowish floor tile with historical pictures in black and white. ||What we like : The rooms are spacious and well- furnished. Windows could be opened to get the fresh air. The cleaning service is very good. |Breakfast the coffee selection is great and the drinks are nice. They have a fruit infused water 24/7. Front desk people are very professional and friendly. The spa area is outdated, some showers are out of order; however the place is clean and the towers were nice and clean. The spa was not overcrowded. The service personnel were polite. |

This hotel is in a beautiful location, it's not in the city centre so be prepared to walk 40-50mins (beautiful walk by the river) or get taxis (10mins). For us it was perfect as we wanted to relax and coming back to the island away from the hustle and bustle of Budapest was a treat. The grounds are beautiful, and we enjoyed exploring and going for walks. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. It was my birthday and we arrived to a plate of fruit, chocolates and prosecco. I had the most amazing hot oil massage and we really liked the salt cave although you have to pay extra for those. We enjoyed the gym and swimming pools too. The food was pretty bad in all honesty and the only thing letting it down. The breakfast buffet had lots of options, but other that the omelette that the chef cooks for you, everything was very mediocre. We had plans to eat at the hotel a couple of nights as well but after a terrible lunch at the bistro with greasy soup and raw salmon we opted for the quick taxi to the city where there is so many options. Also, with breakfast beware, we are early risers, but during the weekend, they run out of seats by 8.30ish, and you have to queue and wait for people to leave. The spa was nice, however very busy on the weekend. People would claim the chairs with their towels and go in the pool or treatments, which meant it was hard to find a spot to read and relax.

We stay here regularly and have never been disappointed. The staff are all helpfull, polite and friendly. The breakfast buffet caters for all and is a leisurely experience. The stay includes unlimited access ro the spa which is open from 0700hrs to 2100hrs. The gym is well equipped with the same operating hours. Great transport links with the 26 bus linking up with the 4/6 tram line. It is lovely to take a leisurely walk around the island after a superb breakfast then relax in the spa.

Nice hotel in a beautiful enviroment. Has a nice spa with different treatments and the staff is very nice too. Breakfast ok with what you need in my opinion, being swedish. The beds are hard wich I like and rooms are clean with a totally ok standard. ||The only minus would be that the doors to the corridor and the walls might be a bit thin but the hotel has been quiet with no disturbing guests or neighbours during our week here. ||You can easily order a Bolt taxi to take you anywhere in to town so the location both gives you a nice and calm enviroment and closness to the center.

We planned to have a relaxing Christmas after a tough year. Our stay was excellent, the staff were very friendly and helpful, one of the reception staff saved our Christmas Eve by arranging a taxi at short notice, after our prebooked Bolt cancelled at the absolute last minute, meaning that we were able to catch our Danube cruise. The food was excellent. The location of the hotel was perfect for our needs, we walked around the Island and into the city and then spent time relaxing in the spa. A perfect week, just what we needed.

This is a lovely hotel with traditional decor but with modern facilities. The spa/pools are wonderful and well maintained. We booked a suite and it was a very large size. The staff are very friendly and efficient. The breakfast had lots of great options. I requested a higher floor with a good view and was not disappointed. There were lovely views of the Danube. Thank you for fulfilling this request as I know requests can’t always be met.
