Ensenada's Surf N Turf Grill

My friend and I had lunch on Tuesday. We arrived there around noon, and there was no line yet! There is a large parking lot in front of the restaurant. If it’s full, there is additional parking underground. As soon as we placed our order and found a table for two, there was a line of people. The fish (grilled) was good!! Not dry at all!! I loved that there were so many hot sauces to choose from. I also enjoyed the roasted yellow peppers…!! they were meaty and not spicy. Since I ordered a combo, I picked their hibiscus tea, which was tart and sweet, just the way I like it! I will definitely go back to try other items.

So good. The fish tacos were fresh, flavorful, and cooked just right. Great texture, great seasoning, and the perfect combo of crunch, citrus, and sauce. Easily one of the best fish tacos I’ve had. Highly recommend.

This is one of the best taco places I've been to!!! I drive 37 miles to El Segundo for theese delicious tacos 😋 the tacos comes with chile gueritos marinated in a sauce on the side and it tastes delicious with the the tacos. Great prices too but if you're looking to save more, go Wednesday for taco Wednesday deals..

Probably one of the best fish tacos I’ve had in the LA region. A little more expensive than others, but the portions are huge. Good flavor and fresh. Definitely come to try.

Absolutely one of the best fish tacos I have tried in California hands down Brilliant tacos indeed , and go on Wednesday , when they have their special for the fish tacos. Service is also superb , the guys working there truly go the extra mile to serve you well. Plenty of parking around and close to the ocean , in case you're visiting CA like me. Nothing beats to eat these Tacos by the ocean. Totally recommended

The fish tacos are good. But definitely not the best I’ve had. Service was fast and it was easy to find a table when we got there (around 2 pm). I could smell some cheap air freshener when I walked into the restaurant. I wish they wouldn’t use that. Other than that, the restaurant (and bathroom) could be tidied up a bit.

The Baja Burrito was excellent! Huge portion and great flavor for the reasonable price. Staff was very friendly with quick service. They had plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for a quick casual bite. Highly recommend checking them out!

Local chain known for fish tacos. I saw that the Lawndale location was on the Infatuation’s list of best South Bay eats, so decided to come here with a group to test the tacos out. Came here on a Monday around 6:30pm and the food came out fairly quickly. It’s a kid-friendly spot. Credit cards are accepted. There’s a small shared parking lot. Indoor dining available (no outdoor options). They didn’t have any tap water available, and said that you could only buy the bottled water. The tacos were decent, and the fish tacos can come grilled or fried. They also have stingray tacos available, which just tasted like fish. The salsa wasn’t that spicy but they do provide peppers for a little bit of heat. Note that if you check in on Yelp, you can get 5% off your bill. They also have a deal on Wednesdays where you can get cheap fish tacos.

It's not that I did not enjoy my food here, but it just seems a bit steep for what you get: Fish ceviche - pretty good, not amazing, does hit the spot when I have a craving for ceviche. Surf and turf burrito - This is not bad at all, but is basically a straight up carne asada and shrimp burrito. It is fairly large, and it better be for $20. While I enjoyed it, I would not get it again because it is sort of a novelty. I'm going to round up to 4 stars because everything is alright, but there are a few places in the vicinity I would prefer for slightly pricey Mexican food.

The best fish tacos in town. Their other stuff is OK but they are most known for their Baja-style fish tacos. They have rotating weekly specials that include the fish tacos on one if the days (Wed?).

Wow, I can get lunch for under $6!? In this area?! In this economy? I ordered way too much because I assumed the portions would be smaller based on the price. I got the surf and turn taco, potato taco and, and shrimp & mango ceviche tostada, (which I took to go and ate the following day, and it was still fresher than other places same day). Surf and turf taco was great and BIG could satisfy a light-medium lunch for sure, can't go wrong with juicy shrimp and beef. The potato was in a hard shell, kinda like an empanada/samosa and was quite tasty too! Looking around, the other tables orders were filled with massive burritos and big plates. Pretty obvious why this place was full at 1:45 pm on a Thursday. Luckily food came out very fast, and as it was ready instead of all at once. I'll be back for sure, maybe earlier in the week to get their taco Tuesday and other deals! There is parking out front, plus close by street parking.

The battered fish tacos are really hefty here. I came here for fish taco Wednesday and the two fish tacos was $5.98, so about $2.99 per fish taco. Prices have increased for this deal but still a really great value and you can definitely get full off of two fish tacos. The whole taco needed more sour cream and salt in general but the lemon, onions and plentiful hot sauce options at their tables helped a lot! The condiment bar was standard and the pickled onions were nice and spicy, the lemons were juicy and big. Would definitely return if I'm in the area and craving a fish taco. Service: Very quick and efficient, had my tacos within 5 minutes. Ambience: Casual seating and chill vibes. Restroom: They have one, not sure of the state of it since I stopped by for a quick lunch. Parking: They share a lot with multiple businesses, wasn't too hard to find a spot on a Wednesday afternoon.

We had the Wednesday fish taco special and we're not disappointed! Reminded me of my childhood driving to TJ and eating these tacos ! The complimentary chiles gueros are the cherry on top. I paid less than $20 including tip for 4 tacos and 2 drinks , and in this economy you aren't eating lunch anywhere for that price. It's a small space but not cluttered. We will be back

Great spot to stop at after arriving at LAX. We got a couple of their Battered Fish Tacos. They came with cabbage, pico de gallo, cream and salsa. They're farily priced for $4.25 but just a tad bit small. The fish was cooked perfectly, but the tortilla got a little soggy to quickly. The staff was friendly, but they didn't hear me when I told them I wanted to dine in. So by placing my tacos in a to go container, it will mess with the crispness of the fish taco as well as making the tortilla soggier. The tacos would have definitely tasted better if they were never placed in that container, and then having to wait again to get them on a plate. Will definitely be returning though. A quick side note, the tajin type of spices they put on their chile heueros is brilliant. Definitely going to have to do that at home.

An easy 5/5 experience. I called in my order online, a Baja fish burrito. It wasn't ready when I got there but didn't take long after. I loved all the fix ins they gave as they were generous with the sauce inside. The burrito was massive and easily two meals for me. The price was reasonable as well. The Mexican good all looked incredibly authentic down to the free sides of seasoned chiles, limes and pickled onions which I grabbed a bag of. They also gave a side of a white creamy sauce and a super spiced homemade salsa. The burrito itself was massive, but there wasn't too much fish. Felt like a lot of cabbage and sauce. The taste however was incredible. I loved the mix of spices and salsas and veggies. Workers were nice and it's a smaller location. Would highly recommend for a quality Baja fish burrito.

Really sick and tired of this place not staying open their scheduled hours. The "kids" that work this location close early when ever they want too. Hope a manager or owner does something about this. They lost a few sales tonight as people were turned away early.

I've been to Ensenada's three times now and I'll keep coming back especially on Wednesdays because their fried fish tacos are so good. I first found this spot while looking for taco Tuesday deals, I didn't think I'd find a taco spot that offered deals on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Everyone else has probably already said it, their baja fish always hits the spot. I'm not the type to order anything other than the best deal when I can get it so every time I stop by I'm getting the daily discount. I'd say the fish tacos are way better than any of the meat tacos, I'd definitely go out of my way to stop by on Wednesday but I'd give or take on a Tuesday. I tried the carne asada, carnitas, and al pastor meat tacos. Of those three, the carne asada was definitely my favorite and what I would recommend in terms of meat tacos. The side bar offers peppered peppers (literally peppers covered in red pepper), slivered onions with some small pieces of green pepper mixed in, and lemon slices. The orders usually come out fairly quickly and I even found an extra piece of fish in one of my fish tacos. I look forward to getting Ensenada's again when I'm in the area next time!

Ok so let me tell you a little about this spot. It is now my fourth time coming here and it has yet to disappoint me. The restaurant is very clean and the environment is just a vibe they got music playing great little spot to eat at. The cashier always has a smile on her face and very helpful. As for the food the portions are crazy I usually get breaded shrimp and fish tacos which are incredible but yesterday I decided to get the Baja burrito and it was as big as my arm very filling and delicious. Would definitely recommend this spot great Baja style food. Next time I will try the shrimp cocktail!

This is one of my favorite Mexican food places. My favorites are the carbs asada taco and the shrimp taco. It comes with a cabbage and I'd recommend adding their onion oregano topping (on the side) and their white sauce (somewhat ranch like) and their orange sauce (no idea what that is but it's good) and their yellow/white peppers (probably one of the tastiest thing they have which is free). They have deals so please get them. Fish tacos are 1/2 off on Wednesday and meat tacos are 1/2 off on tuesdays otherwise it's kind of expensive around $5 per taco normally. They are larger than the regular street taco and 3-4 is probably a good portion however at $5 each makes it a bit pricey for what it is.

Ambience is good, just their phone is constantly ringing and it sounds like it's on the speaker in the dining area. Service is ok- they dont really greet you and seek nonchalant. Their 2 fish taco combo with rice and beans - the sides were disappointing and looked like a child's portion. It is 11.99! And the flavor of the rice and beans is without significant flavor, somewhat bland. I will just get the fish tacos from now on without the combo meal. My meal was extra quick with the small portions, sorry no photo.+

The food is superb - no question about it! Their hours and days of operation are weirddd. Their phones never get answered so you can't really call ahead to make sure they're even open so you gotta wing it and hope they are. But if they are, you won't be disappointed, I promise! Even their non-seafood options are freaking delicious!!

Get the ceviche and then thank me later . Also I love the fish tacos. They are HUGE!! One is enough if you have a regular sized appetite.

One of the best shrimp burritos that I have had in the area. The shrimp tacos are also solid. I'm not sure how to assess the fish tacos because they aren't bad but I had an interesting experience because they seemed better the first time I ordered them (out of two delivery orders through DoorDash). I also accidentally received a fish and shrimp burrito in one of my delivery orders and for some reason I remember the burrito being better with only shrimp (might have something to do with eating the order 45+ minutes later through delivery instead immediately after it is ready at the restaurant which is certainly possible). If I go back, I would certainly make the shrimp burrito a priority (compared to the shrimp and fish) followed closely by the shrimp tacos.

I was in the mood for really great fish tacos. I remember a friend of mine brought these tacos to me years ago and they were delicious. However having them again, the taste fell a bit flat. I had the breaded fish and breaded shrimp tacos. Overall they tasted soggy and it lacked the crunch I was looking forward to in a fish and shrimp taco. The cabbage as well was soggy and the salsa/cream was an afterthought. I got my kids the breaded shrimp and fries. The fries were overcooked and hard so with that being said you can imagine how the shrimp tastes. Flavorless and soggy. Overall a disappointment.

Change of heart. Looks like they have made some changes and the Fish Tacos are great. The Surf and Turf Burrito is amazingly Yea it's $18 but well worth it. Enough to share or save half for next day. The regular tacos are ok. Love this place.

I was a little disappointed when I ordered a meal for pick up. I ordered a shrimp tostada and a shrimp cocktail (regular) but the size of both items have definitely gone down in portion then what it used to be. I used to get a good hearty portion but now I don't even receive it in an 8 ounce container. Very disappointing for paying $27 for both items. I think I'd rather pay more at a taco truck and get a bigger portion

Okay surf n turf, I see you!!! We were in the mood for some fish tacos and were on our way back to LAX to go back home. So we needed something close to the airport. 1. Close to the airport (10-15 m drive) 2. Parking was EASY. And free. (Hard to find that combo in Cali) If you want some fish/shrimp tacos: COME HERE. I had the battered fish taco, the taco with shrimp and fish on flour, and a potato taco. The potato taco was good, but I've had way better and unless I had the munchies probably would not order again. The fish one with shrimp and fish GREAT! Had some creamy but light coleslaw and this tangy slightly spicy orange sauce OMGERD so good. But I have to say.. the fish taco was my absolute fav. Would eat this as my second to last meal. Their tacos did not taste fishy, all tasted super fresh. The batter on the seafood was light but also satisfied the want for something guilty. I ate all three tacos and was pleasantly full. But not like super weighed down. However could have taken a nap if I wanted to afterwards. About 4-5$/ taco. WAY DECENT FOR LA! Service was fast, efficient, and very friendly. The area is clean but it's slightly small! Probably could fit 30-40? There is indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoors probably has room for 8-10. If you want fish tacos GO. If you want shrimp tacos? GO. Get the white sauce and limes. You can go grilled or battered. Oh they also offer stingray as a protein. I wasn't feeling adventurous but yet another different option for the more extreme foodies.

The surf and turf burrito was so yummy! The portion was huge that I had to cut in half and share it with my boyfriend. It's a good location to stop by after playing pickleball or tennis at El Segundo park.

Solid shrimp tacos and fish tacos. Good salsa bar. Can't wait to come back to try other items like the burritos and ceviche. Wish there's one closer to SGV.

Ordered some fish tacos and spicy shrimp tostada. I dont know if the shrimp was bad but it made me naseous and full the entire day. Probably will take a break from this location. But stomach definetly messed up for at least a day.

I haven't been able to find places that can out-do my fav fish taco spot back home in south Florida, but I may have found the competition... Need to come back here asap to get more fish tacos!!

My son and I had the salmon tacos, friend shrimp tacos and potato taco with rice and beans. The food was phenomenal! The service was great. It took about 20 minutes for our food to be prepared. The place was very busy and they provided the food fresh and hot. :) inside the restaurant they have some fresh onions and some banana peppers to add to your food. They are great! The ambiance is comfortable.

I come for the fish tacos, and they're decently priced on their taco Wednesday! Ceviche is also pretty good! Can get pretty packed on that taco Wednesday but the cashiers do a good job of stream lining the crowd and getting you in and out rather quickly.

Stopped here before I went to a show up on Sunset. Wednesday, they have $1.99 fish tacos. Score! I had been to an Ensanada Surf N Turf Grill previously in Lawndale and Fullerton. Both places were bomb! This place, pretty similar. I got 3 fish tacos and a can of Coke. My fish tacos were delicious, but the tortillas were a little bit "off". 2 of my tacos were fine, tortilla held up and I chowed down. One of the tacos though, the tortilla straight up disintegrated like it was too wet/moist of something. The masa fell apart lol. I basically had to discard the tortilla and eat the fish/pico/cabbage with my hands. Not too big of a deal, but still...... Service was friendly and fast and the tacos were tasty. I would definitely come back.

!!! TIP SHAMERS !!! I have ONE rule and that is I do not return to a place that tip shames. The baja fish tacos here are very good, but they don't care about their customers. 1) I order a 2 taco plate and the guy says "To Go, Right?" in an aggressive way. It is 6:30PM and I tell him "No". Later I notice that all the hot sauce bottles that would be on the tables are packed up in a box in the corner of the restaurant and chairs are being removed from tables so there are no places to sit unless you just get your own chair. They close at 7PM. WTF? HERE IS AN IDEA: Make the customer experience the same up until you close and THEN clean up. 2) Tip shaming at the register. The guy says, "There is a question for you." looking at the the POS display. We all know what the question is, which isn't a question it is begging. He then starts staring at the register like he is watching a slot machine to see if he gets a winning spin. The POS tip scam to juice customers for 20% for zero service has to stop, but I tip and he makes a face of delight like "yeah, another sucker" and doesn't even say thank you as he walks away without making eye contact. You can sense he is feeling shame. HERE IS AN IDEA: If you own a restaurant and you... DON'T HAVE - Host/Hostess - Wait Staff - Bar Staff - Bus Boys - Table Menus ... but you... DO HAVE - Plastic Utensils - Paper Plates & Cups - An Unkempt Restroom In A Storage Area That Customers Share with Your Kitchen Staff - Self-Serve Everything (drinks, napkins, utensils, bussing your table, fetching your food, etc.) ... pay your employees and don't shame your customers into doing it. Be a man.

The fish taco is pretty good but I had better taco in San Diego ca they got good jalepeno but not spicy enough for the salad bar is meh not big eno go for the price

Wow, can't say enough about how good this place was. The fish tacos were amazing, the ceviche was out of the world and the burritos were wowaweewa. Overall the experience was amazing and we will definitely be back for some more goodness.

This place is delish!! If you're ever in the area looking for some good fried shrimp tacos then look no further. There tacos are messy but so worth it. I've only had the fried shrimp tacos can't say much about the rest. Didn't care for much for the rice and beans but they weren't bad. Thanks for the great tacos.

Delicious fish tacos, a little too busy but service was descent. It has an outdoor seating area. A bit loud.

This franchise is solid. Like everyone I come here for taco Tuesdays for their cheap fish tacos, but man each taco is gigantic with juicy flaky fish and the fried yellow peppers with their seasoning salt is such a nice compliment. I also come and get their baja style tostada. You can't go wrong when you come here and get a mound full of shrimp, abalone, fish, octopus. Pro tip, ask for more tostada shells to scoop up all that delicious seafood. For me personally I love the sauces on the table. Take your pick and adjust to the heat you like.

This is solely on the business not updating their hours accordingly on yelp or on their direct site. I drove for 30 minutes after checking their hours to find out they are closed today. This is the second time this has happened to me. It's not that hard to update your hours of operation so people don't drive for nothing.

Excellent food and great service some of the best fish tacos I have had besides the authentic ones from actual Ensenada. Love the fact they have daily specials my coworkers put me on to this spot and glad they did!

My update is on the food. I've criticized customer service but I still crave their Baja fish tacos and love that the salsa bar includes Chiles in chili powder!

So far some of the best fish and shrimp tacos I've had. I need to go back again to test out more of the menu but the two times I've had this, it was a good portion and delicious. Better than Baja Cali

Absolute worst service I've ever seen. You intentionally made the burritos without fish and shrimp!! it was definitely done purposely. the burritos are VERY heavy and extra extra avocado. You go out of your way to scam us by leaving the seafood out on purpose. We waited 45min !!!! And spent $40 for 2 burritos with no seafood! You're a seafood spot, how in earth can you make a plate without seafood? Either extreme incompetence, blindness or utter cheats. Most likely a combination of all. Blind, scammy, morons working there.

Never ever disappointed!! The Baja tacos are to die for. Will drive far and out of my way to share this spot with others. The cocktails are fresh with tender delicious fresh seafood. I always order the jaiba tostada and man, I need at least three tostadas to finish the amount of jaiba they give. Can't wait to go again!

I love their San Lucas ceviche. It's a spicy shrimp ceviche with lots of serrano peppers and red onion served on two tostadas. They also have horchata and Jamaica on a drink fountain, so I'm in Heaven when I eat here.

When the fish taco craving hits, this is the place I will be stopping at. I've recently started working in the area and found this place with a yelp search and I'm so grateful that I did! Already been telling people at work to stop by! Okay on your reviewing the food... it's no wonder it was so crowded! I think I hit the lunch rush but it was still fast service and great quality. I got the Baja burrito and it was HUGE, I'm not exaggerating. I confess that I'm not great at portion control but I genuinely could not eat it all in one sitting. Had half for lunch and the rest for dinner. But man did I enjoy that lunch, so tasty and flavorful with the right balance of ingredients in every bite. It had rice and beans and Pico and shrimp and fish... delicious. I'm looking forward to coming back to try the tacos and the ceviches. Maybe I'll skip the burrito unless I have someone to split it with. Try this place out and let me know what you think!
