One of my favourite studios in MTL. I especially enjoy Pilates with Leina, Emma, Miel, Danyka. Some observation: For a complete novice this wouldn’t be the place to learn about proper form. Instructor Miel pays more attention to correct posture but the format of 45min feels a bit too short. Some additional weights or equipment wouldn’t hurt also bars are very low . Bring socks, changing rooms tile floor and the studio itself is very cold. They are blasting ac there. Studio does have a factory feel to it as some have already mentioned, you are in and out of the place, but premises are nice and cleab. It can get loud before/during/after the workout. Thé etiquette of attendees is questionable and there are no efforts from the studio to quiet down the crowd (however in the yoga room people were respectful). Rooms are warm not hot. Not possible to pay in cash and you had to get a photo and a whole profile set-up. It is a tad silly if you are a passing through the town and want to do a drop-in class.

Google
Such a shameless cash grab 😭 class costs 30$ plus ~10$ for mat & towel rental. The studio is so insanely overbooked, something like 60/70 people per class which makes for an extremely chaotic zoo-like environment. Once in the class, the only spaces left were behind huge pillars where we could barely see the instructor or the mirror - and these were officially designated spots by the studio lol. it also smelled like ass cause there were so many people and the space is SO hot Not sure who the target demographic is as the class is too packed for the instructor to help correct beginners’ form, but the class isn’t challenging enough for slightly more experienced girlies - only felt moderately hard bc the studio is abnormally hot (and yes I realize it’s hot Pilates but with the extra body heat of 60+ people it genuinely feels like a sauna). Their program to have you work their front desk in exchange for a couple free classes also makes for mediocre service and is an insane way to prey on young girls who want to look good but can’t afford the classes so are forced to exchange for their free labour :/

I loveee this studio. The staff are friendly and the studio is super clean. I have tried barre, hot Pilates, hot yoga, and enso athletica and love them all. I want to shout out the instructors Miel, Dahlia, José, Matea, and Patricia ! Thank you

I’ve always appreciated practicing at Enso Yoga, but I felt disrespected before a recent class with teacher Miel. She walked over to me and said that no phones are allowed in the room and that she would bring mine to the reception. I told her I hadn’t brought a phone, but she still checked the towels beside my mat. This happened before class even started, and despite my honesty, she didn’t offer any apology or acknowledgment afterward. The experience left me feeling uncomfortable and unfairly treated. I understand and respect the studio’s policies, but I hope situations like this can be handled with more trust, clear communication, and respect going forward.

Upon buying a surprise gift card, my partner was assured by the staff there that the recipient (me) would NOT get notified, since it was a *surprise* gift. My partner even re-asked to make sure of it. It’s a surprise she’d been thinking and planning for weeks. Guess what? As soon as she buys the gift card, I immediately receive by e-mail not only a notification, but the whole receipt. When I called back, instead of owning their mistake and finding a way to compensate for it, the response was merely that it was technology’s fault. Really? I’ve been a customer with them for half a decade, and this is how I’m treated. After a situation like this, I’ll discourage anyone to attend this place.

I have been going here for three years. They have great instructors and great value if you purchase the class packages. The studio and change rooms are always extremely clean all the time and the showers are awesome with nice shampoo, conditioner, and soap.

Google
Super clean, and organized, it's a well run studio... The class I went to had good flow, and the vibe was relaxed, the temp was perfect not too hot but definitely hot enough.... Great class 👍

I used to come to Enso a few years ago and I was a loyal customer to them for many many years. I came back in Montreal this year and I went to the studio for a class, what a horrible experience. The studio is too small for the amount of people (super loud, no respect between the costumers), the costumer service is non-existent and there is this sort of instagram/elitism going on now. A workout place/yoga studio should be a safe space where you can decompress and have some fun. This is not what Enso is now unfortunately… I am quite sad because now I have to let go of this place that was deared to my heart and find another studio…. Not worth my money and especially my energy.

Yelp
Very lovely studio and friendly staff. Great place to practice both yoga and French for new speakers!

Yelp
5 stars for the hot barre class, even if it's hot and painful... you feel great after! Hot barre at enso is like boot camp for ladies in cute lulu lemon attire. It's a fully body workout in 60 mins. The pace is quick but that's what I like. This is not a relaxing yoga stretch, expect your heart to race and body to sweat buckets. Studio is modern and clean. Plenty of space in the locker rooms, showers are also clean.Downtown location is a huge plus. Prices are on the higher end, but if you buy classes in bulk (5 classes or more) it comes out a lot cheaper.

Yelp
TLDR: Go to a class with Sarah as the instructor and fall in love with the Athletica workout. While my prior review was directed at my Hot Yoga experience, this one is for the Athletica class & challenge. Their Athletica course is rather new, it is a 45 minute HIIT with instructor where you rotate through 12-15 stations. I took part in their open house back in June and nearly threw up from exertion/low blood sugar from not having eaten breakfast before going. Despite my rough go at it, it was clear that the class itself was well run and that the equipment was top of the line. I had been tempted by the "30 Day Athletica Challenge" promotions that I had seen going on, but the price range is something usually out of my budget. I soon realized that the $600 annual membership to N+ might be cheaper, but I stopped going or caring after 3 months, so it costed me a lot more per class in the end! The 30 day challenge goal is to complete 21 days of classes out of the 30, two days on, one day of rest. Complete it, and get rewarded with 5 additional classes (usually $100-$115+ tax). Coming from a background of a severe multi fracture injury, scoliosis and other wonderfully inconvenient breaks, dislocations and sprains, I thought that a guided challenge with coach would be of great benefit to me, who still doesn't know how to use basic gym equipment. Not only did Sarah and Marina offer modifications in their explanations for people with knee injuries like myself, they actually check in with everyone as the class goes on to ensure that everything is okay, to adjust any errors in technique and offer swapping out weights/movements as needed. Key points to an effective workout; Consistency: 30 day challenge to put you in the habit Realistic goal: 2-3 days on, 1 day off, also their classes are EVENINGS so you're already up and about, no sleeping through! Motivation: Sarah and Marina cheering you on with their energy and great playlists Technique: They don't miss a beat and correct you as needed Variety: Stations change from one workout to another (get to know a TON of at home exercises!) Effectiveness: HIIT wins! Cardio, strength, core and balance training included! How this class works for everybody no matter where on the feeble to fit spectrum you fall, your workout can be adjusted via intensity/speed/weights. (ie; set the treadmill speed 4km vs 10km, use the 5lb weight vs the 20 lbs weight etc). I completed 12 of my classes in my first 14 days and was blown away by how much more energy I had and how my body seemingly began running itself better right away. Due to the mixing and matching of exercises, there wasn't really anything that became too sore other than my injured knees. Even me the amateur was able to go 5 days in a row before a day off. A week into my challenge I already found myself purchasing more classes when there was a sale so that my budget could be flexed into letting me indulge longer term in their course. Where to watch out: especially if doing the challenge, you must book your classes in advance as they can be booked to capacity which can mean missing out on your class goals. Don't hesitate to use the waitlist feature, the 3 times I did I got in. While 2 of the 4 instructors really drove the class for me, the other two did not bring anything to the table for me, to the point where I found myself cancelling a class instead of going depending on the instructor. Although Kevin has been growing on me! This was more important to me than some others might find it, particularly if you're new and need the extra encouragement, but is why I would say a first taste should definitely be done with Sarah for the full experience! If you've been hesitant, don't think twice about subscribing to their mailing list for the next sale to use as an excuse to try. They also offer 2 and 5 class deals for newbies if you want to dip your toe in the water. Oh, and this should go without saying if you've seen any photos, but their facilities are the bomb. Electronic lockers (no lock necessary), clean AF showers/changing rooms, everything is new, well maintained, and aesthetically perfect, not to mention a SUPER central and accessible location.

Yelp
The quality of this studio isn't on par with many others that I've been to. I would give it a 3.5 stars. Pros: conveniently located in the middle of downtown Montreal, offers many classes for mornings and evenings, offers barre AND hot yoga classes (this variety is so great for toning muscles), and very new and modern changing rooms/showers. Cons: the quality of their classes. I just don't find it challenging enough. Many of the classes do not flow well. The fact that every class is very crowded and for some reason, half of the time, I find myself smelling another yogi's wet humid and musty mat. This really kills my vibe and zen during classes. I think that there are other studios who offer classes that help me focus more on my practice.

Yelp
Amazing studio very well organized lots of classes everyday and can easily book at the very last minute!!!! Easy to rent towels and mats. Flexible and low commitment pricing and welcome offers. It's cleaner then any gym I have ever seen and a very modern look in a historical building right on peel. The only drawback is that they don't offer different levels so your always mixed in a class of advanced and beginners. Depending on the teacher you will have a very high or low difficult level. Regardless you will always feel great after walking out of a class :)

Yelp
Love the hot barre class here! Not for the weak of heart really intense class. An hour long with a full intense fusion of Pilates and ballet small intense movements. I feel like the room is way too hot at times, I have a really good tolerance for heat but I felt that I way really flushed after a couple of classes.

Yelp
Even handicapped ladies such as myself find a class that is totally doable. Clean, excellent instruction, beautiful space. A must for all levels.

Yelp
Recently got sucked into the hot yoga craze, and I must say- I am addicted! It is so energizing, relaxing, and a wonderful alternative for an outstanding cardio workout. The instructors are knowledgeable and so helpful! I've taken yoga at other facilities numerous times and always got bored rather quickly, but this place really catches you by surprise and makes you want more. The studio itself is spotless, chic, and beautiful, I've never seen anything like it. Even after showering there (and trust me, I can hardly ever even step into, let alone use, a public bathroom), you will never want to wait to shower at home! Perhaps a little pricy, but so worth it. If you're curious to try it out and see for yourself, they have an all-you-can-yoga deal for 20$ that lasts 7 days. Then see how you feel about committing to it.

Yelp
Attended a community class on a trip to Montreal. Studio is very clean and hot yoga room is very very hot. They have rental mats and towels for $5. The instructor of the class I took was bilingual and spoke both English and French throughout

Yelp
Enso is the place to go! They have 2 huge rooms with great natural light coming in, even with a packed class they don't feel over-crammed. Locker rooms and showers are always clean and the staff is super friendly. All teachers are experienced, give proper instructions and most do hands on adjustments. Pretty much all classes are given in a mix of French, English and Sanskrit so nobody is left out, teachers are always clear on their instructions. The only feedback I have is that since all classes are different an "enso flow" can on one day be really advanced (arm balances, inversions, backbends, etc) and the same "enso flow" on the day after is a beginner intro class. It would be nice if the schedule would display who's teaching each class and what kind of flow to expect. Maybe add a lvl 1-2-3, yin, hatha, vinyasa grading system to each class depending on who's teaching. They also offer Pilates and barre, which I heard are also fantastic. Don't be a fool, go to enso yo.

Yelp
This is the first yoga studio I have ever been to with traditional, chemical (and toxic) air freshener dispensers in the bathroom. Many of us go to yoga to improve our health so it was rather disappointing that the owners use chemicals that are bad for our bodies, our health, and our environment. I will admit, it was hard to tell how much air freshener was being used. During one visit I did not smell much but during another visit, there was a harsh detergent smell which could have been the air freshener or the cleaning products they use. Before posting this review, I reached out to the owners to write a polite email asking them whether the might consider replacing traditional air freshers with a non toxic alternative. But they never even bothered to reply. The studio is otherwise quite nice: the bathrooms are spacious, the studio is clean, and the two classes I took were well taught. I would say the yoga is more on the warm rather than hot side at least compared to Moksha.

Yelp
CLEANNESS is what keep me from coming here again and again! It's a nice break from the dirty old shower at YMCA or the sweat soaked carpet floor from Bikram Yoga at Laurier. The yoga classes are more beginner than bikram, but if you combine it with hot barre or pilate, it can be quite intense! The only complaint is the columns that block your vision, come early to reserve a better spot.

Yelp
this is fine for a temporary yoga place but don't think of it as your home. Its a good temporary place as its probably meant to be. Unfortunately, the owner and manager are never there so it really lacks spirit of someone who is dedicated to the art. Teachers range from good to bad. In general, most teachers are okay. Besides that the studio is very clean however, the classes aren't always very hot But, this studio is just one in passing. They offer a very cheap intro price which gets lots of people to go through it but really hardly anyone ever stays it seems. Most people I've talked to don't like the manager and think he's more interested in money then in yoga and is always out to guage you on prices from raising tuition to water and towel prices. In general, this is a okay place to be if you work in the area but there are more challenging and better run place if you have the time look for them.

Yelp
For a good sweat 'n stretch, got to love this hot yoga studio. Come and make your inner downward dog sweat right here... I have done a couple of hot yoga studios, and this one has to be my favorite one. For starters, the staff is very competent: they know their yoga, they are very in sync with their classes and have great teaching techniques. Everybody is very helpful. Also, the studios are beautiful and very roomy. The locker room is nice and big. Everything is spotless!!! Very clean. They clean the place all the time. Very beautiful. Very clean. Great teachings. All important things when you want to practice in a hot yoga studio.

Yelp
Love this place: it's the only yoga studio I'll go to in Montreal! Incredibly clean and spacious - and while I am well aware that getting this kind of luxury is something that goes into your fees, I am happy to pay a bit more for the excellent experience. The only thing I am not a fan of is that the schedule doesn't tell you which teacher will teach your class. Enso will let you know if you call in advance and ask, but otherwise, it's a gamble. There are one of two teachers who don't really suit my style (whom I would rather avoid), and some teachers that I absolutely adore, but it's not easy to plan your classes around that.
google avatar

Anna C.

Yelp
This place is practically the best thing ever. It's my first time at yoga (and hot yoga) so I have nothing to compare it too, but I'm pretty sure it's one of the best yoga studios in Montreal. I swear they have everything there, free lockers, showers, filtered water fountains, they let you rent towels and mats, and they sell smoothies (which I swore to myself that I would try one day). The moment you enter the studio, you don't even feel like you're in downtown Montreal, it's as if you've been magically transported to a hot temple. And for the classes, well they're simply amazing. The teacher was completely professional and really helpful. If you're going there, get ready to be sweating!
google avatar

PB F.

Yelp
I hear this is the best hot yoga in Montreal. So I went a few times. It was really good most of the times.. The studio is very clean - they are always mopping. You really need this for a place that generates so much sweat. I love the changing rooms - especially the lockers that do not require a lock. They are electronic with passcode. I took off one star because one of the classes I went to on a Sunday once was just so terrible. I get that there will be variations in style and content, but this was just like such a waste of time and money. We did maybe 2 poses and the rest of the time was spent sitting and breathing. I can sit and breathe at home for free. Anyway, if you get a good teacher, it's great. Come early to steak out a good spot. Classes fill up and get quite packed at almost any time of day.
google avatar

Kim K.

Yelp
I always feel like I'm heading to the spa when I come here. From the reception area with a huge coat/boot room, to the changing rooms (love those lockers with the built-in locks), to the studios - you can tell a lot of thought went into building the studio. Everything is cleaned between each class - the studios and the changing rooms. The instructors are great. The pace they set is challenging if you're an absolute beginner, but do-able, and there's always room to go for a full expression if you've got it in you. I love the fact that they have so many $10 classes available. If I have a day off, I can go on a weekday morning. If I don't, I could go to any of the 4 $10 classes offered on the weekends. Enso is well worth the visit. Even if you just want to see what the space is like before taking a class, they'll be happy to let you have a look around.

Yelp
In a word: Impeccable. Enso yoga is where you go to treat yourself like GOLD. The gorgeous, warm wooden décor, clean architecture and ample amenities make this yoga studio feel more like a high-end spa. The staff and yoga instructors are top notch as well. Ali is probably my favourite yoga instructor, followed closely by James. Eventually you get to know them all and I couldn't complain about a single one. A good mix of male and female instructors as well as clientele. I'd never tried hot yoga before entering Enso. I typically am not a person who tolerates heat well, and for the first couple of sessions, I thought I might pass out. But, after a few classes, miraculously, my body adjusted and I began to crave the intense, penetrating heat of the classes. It didn't take long for my body to tone up, either. Hot yoga is a bit of a fast track to a more buff, healthier, more confident you. The heat makes stretching a little easier and I can't even touch my toes on a regular basis. What's really great is that if you forget your water, forget a towel, or even forget your mat (or don't have one yet), you can just buy/rent what you need from Enso for super cheap, so you won't ever find yourself in the awkward position of being without everything you need. I can't say enough good things about this oasis in the downtown of Montreal! It's saved my stressful student life many a night. I had a very affordable six-month student membership. Since I'm going away in a few months, I'll have to follow another payment plan, but I do recommend a six-month fix. If you know you're paying for it no matter what, you will be sure to go frequently enough to see a real benefit.
google avatar

Christina T.

Yelp
I really like their service there and the staffs were very nice. The studio was big enought to accomodate ten to fifteen people inside. The teachers were nice and helpful. Dont forget to drink a lot of waters!

Laura C.

Yelp
The vibe at the desk is a bit Heathers. The class I took called Yoga Flow was so fast paced I wondered if the teacher had a triple espresso or a red bull prior to starting. She rushed us through calisthenics style yoga poses with little to no corrections. She spent the majority of the class doing the workout herself leaving the class to guess as to whether they got it right. The studio acoustics make it hard to hear the instructor. The floors in the change room are glazed tile making the floor slippery. I did a trade for yoga three hour work shift to get a free week and the cleaning they ask of you is very fast paced and high pressure. In short, I would not recommend Enso yoga to anyone serious about wanting to improve on or have greater understanding of yoga. Nor would I recommend it for its vibe which I would characterize as haughty and suspicious. I've taken yoga classes here and there for 30 years and this was by far the worst experience I have had.

Yelp
Hello enso! It's been awhile! When I get chance to come up to Montreal I make a point to stop by here. Still as great as the first time. I really appreciate the strict time cutoff for classes - I was a culprit for being a bit late and had to be hustled to get changed - but I completely respect the no lateness policy they abide by! A well balanced class for all levels, even for a seasoned yogi like me! I like that the instructors are fully bilingual and use Sanskrit where appropriate. To me, a well seasoned instructor will be able to communicate in English and Sanskrit and on top of that, be able to guide movements and cue the anatomical adjustments without demonstrating the entire class. Well worth the treck up here and a great hot class to get your sweat on

Yelp
Though this is clearly a clean high-level establishment, I had a less-than-satisfied customer experience when requesting a refund on a bulk session purchase I'd bought for my partner - not knowing she wouldn't be able to take part in the hot yoga given her pregnancy. When I went in to request a refund, I was told that only the manager could approve this but that he was busy and would call me back. No call was forthcoming and when going back a few weeks later, I was told that they did not have my contact information and had ultimately figured that I would end up coming back. I mentioned I had left a note with this and was then told they had lost the note. So fine, I processed it but in hindsight this struck me as odd - since I had initially been asked to create an Enso account and leave my credit card info then... Anyway - just struck me as a bit of an oversight - which isn't necessarily a big deal - we all do them, right? But then I'd have prefered they own up rather than left me in limbo with a transaction worth a few hundred $$. The other slight irksomeness is the studio's layout and their policy that *everyone* needs to remove their footwear before approaching the counter. Makes sense since class participants need to walk right past the counter barefoot to get to class and don't necessarily want to walk in street sludge, but it's a slight annoyance if you're coming for anything else except for a hot yoga class. I wonder how does Enso deal with shoes when they get large deliveries (yoga mats, water, whatev) or when their accountant comes by?

Yelp
Beautiful studio, beautiful changing rooms, fantastic classes and teachers. Plus, people who can't afford to take classes can join Trade for Yoga and get unlimited classes in exchange for 3hrs/week of work.

Sarah B.

Yelp
I wouldn't recommend this place. Unfortunately, at many occasions the team at Enso had shown little sense of respect for me and their customers. The place is nice and clean, but just really bad customer service overall.

Clare L.

Yelp
What a beautiful studio. It's super duper clean, and well-maintained. The receptionist was polite, friendly and very easy going! The changeroom/showers/bathrooms were huge, and again clean. I love that they put in these lockers that have combinations that you can set yourself too. I tried out the Saturday morning community class here for $10, the studio was large, and floors clean. A quick scan of the class there seemed to be more men than women in the class, pretty different from other studios I found. Instruction was good and the class seemed a bit more advanced, but I did wish that they offered more modifications of the poses. Definitely looking forward to the next class!

Yelp
The cleanest studio in Montreal. Hot barre class is the most intense workout I've had in a while!

Yelp
In Montreal for the weekend stayed 1 block from the studio. Very impressed with the facilities, incredibly clean and very tasteful decor. Electronic lockers for your valuables, great staff, very large studios to practice in.

Yelp
One of the bests hot yoga studios in Montreal. The classes and teachers are great, the changing rooms are soooo spacious (including plenty of shower cabins, finally!!) and it's right next to the Peel metro station. A bit pricey but all yoga studios are anyways.. Try the intro week - you're going to love this place!

Tracy G.

Yelp
I'm visiting Montreal for the weekend and found this studio when I looked up "hot yoga" near me on Yelp. I am an experienced practitioner, I have been to many studios in my time, and this is one of the best. The personnel are friendly, the studios are great (huge, well heated, clean), there are lots of clean showers and lockers, mats to rent (brought my own), towels to rent (thick), large bottle of water to buy (refrigerated), and you can get a fantastic smoothie after class. The fact that they offer a discounted price at non-peak times made me very happy. I couldn't imagine a better experience, especially as a visitor to a new city.
