I had an issue of overcharge, 2hrs late return charged as if equivalent to 24hrs vs being prorated 1/12th of a day.When I called to followup, I was promised a resolution but instead the lady agent handed me to her boss after putting me on hold for sometime. I could hear from the background the same lady mocking me as I spoke to her supposedly "boss" who was telling me it's their policy to overcharge 2hrs as equivalent to 24hrs and that nothing could be done about it.Very unprofessional,you get promised a resolution and then get mocked out! People with good intentions form businesses, then rogue employees bring them down because of inflated egos.Sure to count one more customer out.

Great Urbandale location, weekend hours and most of all a really great team. Everyone there is so friendly, attentive and caring. I was really early today and while waiting I witnessed everyone doing such a great job working together as a team or serving the customers so well. I’ve worked with Maia and Trey a couple times with 3 rentals there in the past 2 months since my car keeps breaking down They are so friendly, thorough, caring and with my stressful situations can make it such a fun and enjoyable experience. I’m a newer Enterprise customer now, as Hertz in Urbandale has bad customer service, car availability and hours, just go read the reviews 2.8 vs 4.3 for Enterprise. Thank you for running such a great location and to everyone for doing such a great job, I’m always completely satisfied. Hopefully next time I’m there it’ll be for a fun road trip, not car repairs.

I had a great experience using Enterprise. Easy to book online, pickup was nice and easy with Kami and I loved the Charger. I had to extend my rental which was so easy online and drop off was easy to do after hours. I got more than I expected and nothing bad that I didn't!

Great service and friendly staff! Good cars too. Update, Enterprise pulls through again by helping my sister rent a ln Audi Q3nto get her back to Milwaukee due to airlines canceling flights at the last minute because of the snowstorm and winter freeze. Great job gentlemen, thanks again!

My daughter is going into her sr year in high school the first of the month we rent a car to go look at colleges. Every time we have gotten a different car and loved them all. I get the insurance and gas coverage so drop off is so easy. I pull up five minutes later I'm on my way home with my deposit back. The employees are amazing will ask what college we are going to this month and ask her how it went when we get back. Amazing rental experience!!!!!!!

March 16th requested the rental online, for April 3, 7:45am, with pick up requested from my home. As I will not have a car. It's going into the shop. Today is April 2. A Sunday. I just received a call letting me know that they don't do pick up fro peoples homes. Odd, it was reserved that way. They could pick me up from the auto body shop. That's further away from my house. My car is already there. I'm explain this to the enterprise guy, he says yeah, we just don't go that far. I said "My house is closer to you than the auto body shop" he says "well we just don't get into the office until 8." I'd rather deal with my insurance company that this kind of non sense.

Arrived a few minutes past the scheduled pickup time to get an intermediate car, and the only car available was a Ford Fiesta - not sure if this is an economy or compact class, but we thought it would be a long 450 mile ride, so we waited for another car to be cleaned. We got a Toyota Camry - a good size for this one-way trip to far Northern Minnesota. We asked where to park our own car that we were leaving for the day, and were told anywhere in the back row....where there was foot deep snow. Fortunately we had our 4WD vehicle, so it was able to work its way in. After signing all the paperwork promising not to smoke or leave a lot of pet hair in the car we drove off and after a few miles noticed a strong smoke odor. We called to make sure they wouldn't charge us for that, and were given a credit on our rental for the inconvenience - nice touch. They offered we could return the car and get another, but knowing they were short on cars, this seemed like a bad plan. We drove to southern Minnesota and stopped for the night due to a fierce snowstorm. When we got out to the car in the morning we discovered there was no snow brush or scraper. A bit of a problem in Iowa, but certainly a bigger one as you move into the northern hinterlands. We drove the remaining 6 hours to our one-way drop-off destination. When we got there no one was working at the rental counter and a call to their phone number went to voicemail. I left the car with a note, and everything turned out OK, but was a bit apprehensive to leave it at 12:30 PM without an employee present. Car ran well and got good gas mileage. Just expected a bit more for a $225 one-day rental.

Reserved a luxury car (Chrysler 300 or similar, it said) three days in advance to take two octogenarians, myself 50+ and my sister 60+ to Nebraska to visit family grave sites. I wanted to make the trip as comfortable as possible. I called this location the day prior to make sure a luxury car would be available and to clarify pick up and return time options. At no point did they say this was a first come first serve type of situation. If they had, I'd have been there at 9 am. When I arrived at 4:30pm, the reserved time, I was told: "your luxury vehicle is a Dodge Charger". (Yeah seriously they fully intended to still charge me the luxury car price for, what I believe we can all agree on, is clearly not a luxury car). Me (Nice and trying to make light of the situation): "well that's not a luxury car and I can't fold two 85 year old ladies in half and shove them in a two door car. That's not going to work." Them: "our only other available car is a small Hundyai SUV." (Which they just told the man ahead of me he was getting). Me: "I guess I don't have a choice." Them to the other customer: "actually you'll get a Dodge Charger, a bit sportier but still plenty of room." (I hope this guy wasn't planning on moving something). Them- two minutes later: "if you want to drive to johnston they have a small Audi SUV that may be a smoother ride." Ya think? Yes, I drove 30 minutes across town to get the Audi. I got 5% off and a second driver fee waived. Not exactly a deal but I really needed a nicer car to take the ladies in. Just a dismal experience compared to any other rental I've reserved from other companies. I'll never rent a car from any Enterprise again. What an absolutely terrible way to do business. The customer is nothing but collateral damage on their way to getting the biggest profit margin possible. Junk business practices shouldn't be rewarded by your patronage.

It's not the rental itself that they get you with. They wait until after you return the car to gouge the hell out of you. My advice? Cancel your credit card the day you return the vehicle. I was hit by a distracted teenage driver while I was in park. So I had no choice but to rent. Since stew Hansen takes their sweet time giving me my car back, eventually a tiny crack on the functionless fragile interior plastic inside the trunk appeared. $50 is what it costs to fix this. Boom the opportunity to multiply this cost and gouge me out of hundreds. Not going back.

Enterprise in Urbandale is a great place to rent a vehicle. This location has a large lot and you can leave a vehicle in the lot if needed. I rented a vehicle for a vacation to South Dakota. I love the fact that you can usually get an upgrade. They upgraded me to a larger vehicle with unlimited mileage which was awesome. I had reserved a mini van and they gave me a Ford Excursion with the ecoboost. My only complaint was that the vehicle was filthy inside. The seats were stained, the inside needed vacuumed, hair all over the seats, and there were papers under the seats. I have never seen a vehicle this dirty inside. I have been renting from Enterprise for over fifteen years and was surprised at the inside cleanliness. I didn't go back inside to complain because we had a tight schedule and I was thankful for the upgrade, I just feel they should clean the inside of the vehicle also. The vehicle was perfect for the trip to South Dakota and we enjoyed the comfort, space, and style. Plus it got good gas mileage and plenty of power. The staff was very friendly, professional, and helpful. They also offer a veteran discount which is fabulous.

Its never fun to get your car towed but it helped that when I got the store there was a car already ready for me. I was in and out within 5-10 minutes. Joe specifically was very nice and super helpful! He's very put together and made the process very simple.

This enterprise location is a pleasure to rent from. Rental agents are super friendly and professional as well as facilities being very clean and being very well managed. They treat the customer with the highest regard of importance. I give this enterprise location big kudos and the management as well as staff members for making my rental experience very pleasurable. We rented a van to go to Florida in and the customer service was great. Our van we had rented had some minor issues that was out of anyone's control, I called back and talked to them and they told me everything I needed to do and reassured me they would take care of me. Jake the branch manger was extremely nice and I will definitely recommend this location to anyone who is looking to rent a vehicle

I rented a car from this branch -- I feel like this particular Enterprise branch is a lot more helpful than other Enterprise branches I've been to in the past so if you looking to rent a car in Des Moines I'd recommend going out of your way to go to this branch because the people and service here are worth going out of your way. I rented a car form Corin she was very helpful kind and professional and did a great job of quickly getting my car rented and explaining everything I need to know and getting me going quickly. She explained the different pricing and helped me choose a rental package that fit my needs. I will alway rent from this branch. Always check online ahead of time though because they do sell out of rental cars quickly on the weekends so if you can call or go online and reserve in advance.

Excellent service after a horrible experience with the Manager at Hertz next door. Lesson learned, read the small print when renting a car on line. The people who work for this office are always, always, helpful, courteous and genuinely happy to see people walk through the door. Thank you!

Adrien and the crew at this location could not have been better when I was involved in a t-bone and run accident. His first question was about my injuries and second was if I was in a safe place. Handled everything and I was back on road in new vehicle an hour later!!

Overall a good experience with renting a vehicle while my vehicle was in the shop. They have a large lot with a lot of different vehicle options to chose from. Their prices are fair and it is a great feature that you can prepay for gas and they have a market rate you pay when the vehicle gets dropped off with or without any fuel in the tank. I ended up with an itty bitty Mitsubishi Mirage, but it was only for a few days and it was on their economy rental plan. The staff is super helpful and friendly! They do a full walk around. I understand working in insurance how they have to push their insurance plan, but it was a little bit much. $17 a day is a bit pricey especially since my insurance covers rental vehicles. The one complaint I have is that, there is no clear place to park. Parking stalls are labeled car sales or rental car parking only. And when they are busy it makes it more chaotic. There is a $50 deposit on the card even if you are going through insurance. It will be returned when you return the car. Overall good experience, easy to find shop, and they have a TON of selection of vehicles!

Wow. First time I rented from them, for a week's rental, they were professional, expensive, but I suppose not worse than any other car rental. Jumping through the hoop of having to provide a current pay stub and utility bill, if you want to pay with a debit card was a pain in the... but oh well. So, when I needed a car for just a couple of days, that's where I went back. First off, going DIRECTLY to their website does NOT get you the $9.99/day weekend rental rate they so lavishly advertise on television; to get THAT price, you have to actually find the AD for that, online, then back-door into their rental site through the ad. Going DIRECTLY to their site got me a quote of $29.99 per day for the exact same period. Okay, I've found your "deal" price, great! Sign me up. Clicked the link that says, "We'll pick you up" I mean, that IS their motto and stock-in-trade - the only rental place that will actually give you a ride in to get the car! Booked the rental on Friday for an early Saturday morning pick-up and a Monday morning return. AN HOUR AFTER I BOOKED, they left a message on my HOME answering machine asking if I was STILL GOING TO NEED THE CAR?????? Seriously? Why no, my plans have changed in the last 67 minutes and I will no longer need to pay you roughly half of what I was going to earn at where I needed the car to get to! But I didn't get that answering machine message until after their business hours that day so couldn't call them back until the morning, the morning in which they were supposed to come pick me up for said rental. When I did call, they repeated that, since it WAS a very busy weekend, would I still need the car? Yes. Yes, I do need the car - the car that I requested to be picked up for, THIS MORNING; in less than an hour, as a matter of fact. .... "OH, well... I'll have to check if we still have a courier out"... After 3 rounds through their hold music/advertisement bombardment, she comes back and says, "We actually don't do pick ups on the weekend. Will you STILL want the car?" Um, I guess not, since I have NO WAY TO COME GET IT! "Have a nice day!", she says. To which I replied, "Kind of hard to, now! Thanks." If they truly do not do pick ups on the weekend, would she not have known that from the get-go and not had to put me on hold to confirm? If I had paid full price, instead of finding their weekend deal price, would their answer have been the same? I was already sick, and feeling like crap; thanks so much for leaving me to walk the 7 and a half miles to get where I needed to get that weekend. Thanks ever so much.

My company rents from this location a lot, so the expediency of these transactions is normally pretty good. They have our corporate credit card on file which makes things a lot faster. I normally just show my drivers license and sign the paperwork and I'm on my way. It's always helpful when the gas tank is already full. I wish Enterprise would just make it their policy to return every car full of gas. It would be so much easier for the customers then returning it 5/8ths full.

Necessity dictated I need a rental car again this week. Car repairs on my car have been slow. So Monday morning I rent another car. They were very helpful in the fact that when I made my online reservation it was schedule for the following day (Tuesday instead of Monday) and were able to help me rectify this error. The rest sadly has followed suit. I was given what I consider a matchbox car (beggars can't be choosers I suppose) that was absolutely filthy. Muddy floors, a black spot on the back seat... 29 cents still in the change box. REEKED of cigarette smoke and a failed attempt of de-stinking it with too much febreeze. There were ash marks by the drivers window to confirm smoking. UGH. Seriously Enterprise... CLEAN those cars. After I complained by phone (when I extended my rental from one day to a week), you should have offered an alternate car that had been cleaned. So very disappointed as you were my go to rental. I may have to start considering elsewhere...

This place is terrible!! I am thankful that I didn't have to pay to rent from this place. My car needed work done on it due to an accident. The day that they were supposed to pick me up to get a car they were 30 minutes late. Not to mention they never even called. I had to call them and ask if anyone was going to come get me. Then when they gentleman came to get me he looked right at me, walked into the body shop as I was getting ready to get out of my car, walked back out and drove away. I had to call them back because clearly they didn't tell the guy who to look for. Finally, when I got to the rental place they placed me in a car that had clearly NOT been cleaned. It smelled like animals were in there, the steering wheel was grimy and there was a used old coffee cup on the back floor behind the driver seat. Lastly after I dropped off the rental car in the afternoon I left my garage door opener in the car. I called first thing in the morning since they were closed by the time I left and they informed me that it would be in the lost and found after the car was "cleaned". My partner goes there 30 minutes after they opened and not only did he not find the opener, but they couldn't find the car so they sent him away. I called and asked them to look on the computer to see is it was rented out (not that hard to do) only to find that it was rented out. They could have looked this up the first time I called and saved everyone the trouble!!! Terrible service!!! I do not suggest this location to anyone!

I have been using enterprise to rent a car for more than 2 years now and this branch is tre worst ... They gave me a car with registration expired ... I told them i wont pay for the car .. As i couldnt use the car over the weekend ... But then they charged me on my card and nvr responded properly when i called to check on the issue ... So please check the registration when renting a car ...

I have used Enterprise for years and this is the first non positive interaction. My wife picked up the car as I was not available and they really did the "hard sell" on the insurance and refueling options. Enough so, that prior to leaving on our trip the next day I needed to go back in and correct to have the same as I have for years. Additionally, it appears they charged for more than their quote ( I need to follow up on that). Overall, not my typical experience with Enterprise.

They worked extra-hard to accommodate us. I had recently had surgery and needed to sit sideways, and we were traveling with a child in a car seat, so we needed room for everyone. They worked to find a car big enough for us, because the one we originally rented was not. What could have been an unpleasant experience ended happily.

I rent weekly from this Enterprise for business. The staff is always so friendly and helpful! Occasionally when the car isn't always ready when I arrive they are always apologetic--hey I get it, they get busy! This enterprise is my go to for personal use as well!
