Having stayed at the sister hostel in Tbilisi and loved it, I had high hopes for this hostel. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t as good - not as social (no bar/rooftop), staff not as friendly/welcoming and a lot of noise/light pollution in the rooms. Other guests left the bedroom door open constantly and the bed lights are crazy bright. I was woken up so many times during my stay here by other guests coming back late and turning on their lights. This did not happen in Tbilisi, the lights used there must be dimmer/the guests more respectful. Despite this, I stayed for five nights because the location was good, it was a decent price and frankly because I couldn’t be bothered to change hostels again.

Solid hostel for a good price! The location is very convenient as it is right in the city center. The staff was friendly and had good English. The room was nice and clean and the bed was quite comfortable. They also accept card payments, which is nice. The only small complaints I would have are that there is only one toilet and shower so you might have to wait for a while and that the lights in the room have quite unpleasant white light instead of warm yellow light which would be quite nice for the bedside lamps. But these are only minor problems; overall it was a nice stay and I would gladly come back again.

I took the transfer from Tblisi to Yerevan. The guide was excellent (as was the Soviet Yerevan guide a couple of days later). It was perfectly paced with stops at rural churches and our guide was informative and enthusiastic. The leisurely local lunch was varied and superb. The driver also did a great job. Highly recommended and a good value transfer. Email communication about tour detsils was also very good.

This tour was a great way to travel to Tbilisi. The beautiful scenery and visits to several UNESCO sites made the trip more enjoyable with interesting stops along the way.||Our guide, Aida, was very friendly and knowledgeable. She shared lots of information about the places we visited and was also happy to talk about life in Armenia and its relationships with other countries.||We also stopped at a local bakery and had lunch, which were both included in the tour. Overall, it was a great day trip.

Our two tours of Armenia were totally fascinating. |The guide's English skills were very good, and he related what we were seeing in a personal, entertaining and relevant way. |We covered much in the lengthy time but were NEVER bored. |The places, well selected, that we visited helped us begin to get an understanding of the country. |The drivers were particularly skillful on the road. |And the delicious lunches were an Armenian tour in themselves. |I was VERY impressed by Envoy’s complete professionalism. |HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I originally booked with them via Booking.com, but later had to change my dates. I contacted them on WhatsApp, and they told me not to rebook through Booking.com and that they would hold my spot directly (for the same price but obviously they didn’t have to pay any fees to booking.com) . Unfortunately, I later had issues with my flights and informed them the day before (as soon as I knew) that I would not be staying in Yerevan at all. Despite this, they told me they would still charge me. I was wondering how they would be able to charge me, since I never gave them any credit card information outside of Booking.com. Shockingly, they misused my card details from the Booking.com system!! Legally, hotels can only keep those details for 10 days after the official cancellation —this happened on day 24. In other words, they stole my payment information and charged me!! When I confronted them and reported the case to Booking.com, they still refused to refund the money they had no right to charge in the first place. This is unacceptable, and I am reporting them to the police. Do not book with them—completely untrustworthy!!

I discover the Envoy Hostel’s tour on a travel blogger page. I chose the Enlinking Caucasus tour from Tblisi to Yerevan because it’s a way to corr the border and visit the monasteries during the trip. We had lunch by an Armenian family and the food was idyllic. The guide is knowledgeable and speaks fluently English.
