Epic Flight Academy

I began my flight training at Epic in January and it has been an amazing experience so far. The staff is very inclusive and welcoming and my training has been quite an amazing experience at this school. The New Smyrna main campus environment is a wonderful place to meet other students and pilots who all have various interests and skills that have allowed me to blossom in many ways.

I came to epic with zero aviation experience. I’ve now completed all of my training here and I wouldn’t have it any other way. My flight instructors Caroline Gaillet and Bryan Cintron have been great! They’re very knowledgeable, helpful, and always had my best interest at heart. Epic as a whole is a great learning environment with a ton of resources for students to be successful. You can’t beat the location and having brand new aircraft to train in!

The instructors are solid and the flying is intense in a good way but what I really appreciate is how they give us time to chill and have fun too. They set up a pickleball tournament for students recently, and it was honestly such a good time. Super laid-back, competitive but it was fun, and a nice break from all the studying and flying. Stuff like that makes the long days way easier and helps everyone get to know each other. Props to Epic for knowing how to keep things balanced. Thank you so much for everything, Epic . People are really helpful and co-operative here. Specially Kayla,who helped me in the whole process from the very beginning till now.I am really greatful to her. She was pretty fast and professional and helped me with every small details. She gave me nice tour of the Academy. Also the chief was very friendly and helpful. They have very stable and new aircraft’s which is amazing. I am glad to be a part of Epic.

I started my flight training here in the beginning of 2024 and it has been such a great experience. The staff are very welcoming and always willing to help with anything. The planes are well maintained and very nice. I finished my commercial certificate recently and my instructor, Leah Jaicks, was awesome. She was very professional, knowledgeable and supportive. Which helped me pass my check ride with ease. I would highly recommend training here if you're serious about aviation!

I was just reflecting on how Epic Flight Academy became my son’s choice, and it’s such a powerful memory. My son and I took a road trip to Florida to visit flight schools. After spending three days touring different schools (we honestly had no idea what we were doing, as this was a new path for our family), each school seemed to have its pros and cons. As we made our way back to Texas, we had three more schools along our route. The first stop was Epic Flight Academy, where we were greeted by Kristina. She gave us a thorough tour of the school and offered a clear understanding of how it operates. It felt even more meaningful knowing that she was sharing her first-hand experience with Epic, especially since she’s also training there. When we were leaving, I remember the moment so vividly—Philip was absolutely glowing when he said, “I found my school.” There was such a palpable sense of excitement and certainty in his voice that I’ll never forget. I felt the same way, and needless to say, we didn’t make the last two school visits. Now, a few months later, he’s thriving—having soloed and getting close to earning his private pilot’s license. I can confidently say that choosing Epic was the best decision we made. It’s not just about the classes, curriculum, or training—it’s about finding a place where students truly feel like they belong and can flourish.

I am from Bangladesh and started my training here. Epic Flight Academy is an excellent place for flight training! The instructors are highly experienced, professional, and always willing to help. The training environment is well-structured, and the aircraft are well-maintained, making every flight session smooth and enjoyable. The staff is friendly, and the overall experience has been fantastic so far. If you're serious about becoming a pilot, this is definitely a great place to train. Highly recommend!

Epic Flight Academy in Tallahassee is a good place to learn how to fly! They have a great fleet and you feel they are concerned about safety in how they care for the planes. Truly a rewarding, excellent experience getting my certificates there. I did a little training at the main Daytona campus also; it is an excellent facility! All around one of the most rewarding endeavors of my life to attend flight school here. The instructors can be a bit young, but you can always find one who teaches well and switch if you're not satisfied with the initial instruction you recieve.

High-quality flight school all around! I started my Private Pilot Certificate at Embry-Riddle but eventually switched to Epic Flight Academy to finish after hearing such positive remarks from different friends and pilots. I was able to easily maintain my college courses at Riddle while flying with Epic, so flexibility is possible. From dispatch and maintenance staff to Instructors and Team Leaders, every Epic employee exceeded my expectations in terms of a family friendly learning environment. The C-172S aircraft were all in excellent condition, equipped with G1000. The Epic ramp area is well maintained along with KEVB in its entirety, and you simply can't beat its beautiful location in terms of its Class D airspace. However, as a student veteran, I would have liked to see Epic Flight Academy accept VA benefits to allow student veterans to gain assistance in finishing the remaining flight ratings at Epic, but they do not at the moment. Overall, I would highly recommend Epic Flight Academy for obtaining your Private Pilot Certificate, or any other certificate or rating you wish to pursue.

One of the best flight schools around. Did my instrument rating training there. Recommended many other students there who got their pilots licenses in record time.

talked to christina on the phone for 45 minutes and she was great. I called 10 other flight schools and this was the most helpful out of all thanks christina!!

I was 18yo, i am now 23yo. I have healed. But once in a while, the adult me gets angry at the teenage me, for falling for this scam of a school!. I will never get my money back neither will i ever get the respect of my family. But i could save another 18yo international student.

Did not use the flight academy but did use the FBO services. Has a large ramp for parking and no parking fee. Employees were friendly and there is a small store and clean restrooms inside the main building. Security is good.

Many friends have been racially discriminated against including myself. Told to leave and not come back. You'll fly through the courses if you're buddy buddy. If not, you'll end up paying the price. Phoenix East Aviation is much higher quality training, campus and professional assistance.The school sounds amazing before you apply, once you're a student , it's milking time. Rude rude rude managers. Ive attended the school and I DO NOT recommend. Repeat... take your money some place else.

I was an instructor here for a little over a year and I have so many fond memories of Epic. I highly recommend it as somewhere to work and somewhere to learn. The other instructors I had the pleasure of working with have been the most caring and supportive for all of their students. My students all worked very hard and it was amazing to watch them grow at Epic Flight Academy where they had the opportunity to. The equipment is also very new with them adding several airplanes to their fleet with the newest technology. Overall a great flight school.

Happy Staff - Happy Students! I was hired as a Dispatcher at Epic almost 3 years ago, and I was promoted to Marketing Communications Manager a year ago. I have the freedom to make suggestions for improvement and efficiency, and I always makes me feel that my ideas are valued and appreciated. I love our diverse team - we truly are an Epic Family. Epic is not a bad flight academy. If you put quite good effort into it, your flight training will go good. It is equipped sufficiently except for the multiengines, you could get delayed in the last part of becoming a commercial pilot after you get your instrument rating. The best thing is that you come out of it with unique knowledge! First time i stepped into a cockpit was 9 months ago, and now im taking my commercial checkride in less than 2 weeks.

I began my flight training at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. The way the program is structured there completely sucked the fun out of flying for me! I am so thankful to have stumbled upon Epic Flight Academy in my search for other flight schools in the Daytona Beach area. Flying with Epic has truly renewed my love and passion for aviation. The staff at Epic Flight Academy has always seemed welcoming and helpful. The experienced instructors are not only dedicated to teaching the necessary skills and knowledge to fly, but also the critical importance of safety. A majority of Epic's students are international and come from all over the world. The various backgrounds make the relationships established at Epic dynamic and unique. Epic Flight Academy offers the more structured Part 141 training as well as the more flexible Part 61 training to suit all needs. Epic also has written exam testing on campus so that is very convenient. I am very happy with the education I have received and the connections that I have made in the aviation industry thanks to Epic. I would absolutely recommend the flight training programs at Epic Flight Academy!

I have been with Epic for nearly 3 years as a student as well as a flight instructor. Before coming to Epic, I had received training and worked for other well known flight schools in Florida, but have always heard that Epic is different than all the others. When I finally came to Epic I quickly noticed that it has most definitely stood out in multiple aspects from other flight academies. If I had to sum it up in one sentence then I would say that what makes Epic special is its amazing ability to set the highest professional training standards and at the same time create a warm family atmosphere to all its students and instructors. Epic utilizes a fleet of the most advanced G1000 glass cockpit aircraft and multiple twin-engine aircraft for its unique multi-engine commercial pilot training course. All airplanes are kept in great condition (as you would expect from an FAA approved Part 141 Flight academy) with a dedicated maintenance team which continuously monitors and addresses every little issue. Unlike many other flight schools which mostly hire inexperienced local flight instructors, Epic attracts experienced instructors from all over the country (and international) who apply and hope to get a position with the academy. Obviously, this kind of hiring philosophy contributes to high quality training. The academy offers both FAA and EASA training courses for U.S. and European licensing requirements. Students and instructors enjoy the benefits of having top notch training facilities, including: advanced glass cockpit simulators, large classrooms, 1 on 1 briefing rooms, high tech disptach, pre-flight computer stations, student lounges, etc. As an instructor I could appreciate it even more as it would create an inviting and supporting environment for my students. However, having awesome facilities is not enough. Epic's management team always emphasizes the importance of a productive student-instructor relationship. Instructors are limited in the number of students they may have at a given time so that their students would get their full undivided attention and support. I would highly recommend to any U.S. or international students to consider Epic Flight Academy for their professional flight training. I can confidently say that my experience at Epic and the training I received in the academy prepared me well for my current position as a First Officer with an international airline. Epic has great partnerships to further your career as a pilot once you complete training. Their fleet or aircraft is top of the line and so are the instructors and staff. Epic is the place to go!
