The service was perfect, from the welcome in the lobby to the luggage service and the valet service. The room was wonderfully quiet with a view of the ocean and a spacious balcony (make sure you get a room on the fourth floor for that). Every day there was bottled water and chocolate in the room and the water came in glass bottles, we were happy to see. The breakfast buffet was very good ( we stayed 5 nights). |The beach is right outside the hotel, accessible via wooden stairs. It’s a nice beach, but we missed toilets down there like there were at other public beaches we went to in the area. |It was our first stay at the Epic Sana and we would definitely pick this hotel again.

I had the most fantastic time here. The rooms are superb, cleaned multiple times a day. The staff are all extremely friendly and service is 11/10. The hotel and location are beyond gorgeous - there’s not a single flaw in this place. Multiple pools, amazing gym, unbelievable gardens and a staircase directly to an insanely gorgeous beach. The food is out of this world in every location across the resort, the cocktails are great. I’m struggling to find words to describe how much I enjoyed my time here. Felt safe and at peace, unlike anywhere. I am now planning my next trip here.

Lovely hotel and spa with heated, unheated and indoor pool so you can swim anytime of year. We loved the Japanese and fine dining restaurants, breakfast buffet is extensive with egg station for freshly cooked omelettes. Plenty of space with cabanas around the adult (unheated) pool. The spa is fabulous, I had a full body massage which was perfect for unwinding at the start of our break. There is a well equipped gym and access to the beach via a boardwalk and steps down the cliff side. All the staff were friendly and approachable. Our room was spacious with a bathtub and separate (powerful) shower. We had a balcony overlooking the gardens, but many overlook the pools. A great place to relax and enjoy some autumn sunshine.

Just back from a lovely relaxing week at Epic Sana. Quite often when I’m booking a hotel and see the photos on the website I guess it won’t look half as good, but it was! Rooms were spacious and clean. Replenished every day with fresh towels and water. The pool areas were lovely, shame there was only one heated though so everyone gravitated to that including the kids with inflatables. This is completely understandable but a bit of a pain when you want to have a swim! |The buffet breakfast was delicious and one of the nicest we’ve had and all were well catered for. The evening buffet was also good although would say at €48 each was overpriced. One night we (3 adults) ate at the nearby Chinese restaurant and paid a TOTAL of €46 and €66 at the Italian, both were equally as good! Would recommend a visit to Frank’s restaurant which is a 10 minute taxi ride away - well worth it. |There is a nice 5 minute walk down to the beach along a wooden platform and steps (not for the less mobile), but was disappointed to have to pay €50 for a front row sun bed or €30 for the next row. As part of the hotel this should be included. There was a service to get drinks and snacks online, but this didn’t work well so gave up and walked along the beach to the restaurant. |The staff at the hotel were all very pleasant and seemed to speak all languages well. If you want a fly n flop holiday this is a perfect place.

Very nice hotel and very oriented wellness not just bc they have a spa but bc they offer many classes or group activities like Pilates or running. The site is beautiful for walks or runs. They have 4 pools, 2 are heated (one indoor one outdoor). The restaurants are very good too. The breakfast buffet has a great variety and they accommodate GF or vegans too. The rooms are spacious and the staff is very professional and attentive.

Absolutely loved our stay!! The property is stunning and the beach is one of the beach I have been to. The rooms are super clean and the bed very comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the food at the morning buffet is delicious. Restaurants are great and the cocktails are top notch. I don’t stay at the same hotel often but would definitely recommend this one and come back here ourselves !

Before leaving for Portugal I read some terrible reviews of the Epic Sana so I lowered my expectations. But now, after our visit, I can't imagine what prompted negative reviews. We had the best experience there!|The room was great, the only drawback was the hard mattress. It was immaculately clean and totally quiet. No noise from anywhere. We had a distant, but pretty, view of the ocean and a lovely balcony. |What made our stay so special was the staff. Especially:|Rita at Lima - please thank Rita for taking the time and care to accommodate my request for a vegetarian meal on the night that there was a special event dinner in the restaurant. Rita was so friendly and on top of things. The dinner that night was a highlight of our trip - so much fun!|Tiago at the Open Deck restaurant by the pool - please thank Tiago for saving us the sardines that we noticed just after finishing lunch. He held on to them and prepared them for us for a late afternoon meal because we wanted to try them. How thoughtful!|We also enjoyed the location of the hotel. We walked along the cliffs to Vilamoura. A gorgeous, but not well marked area. The walk down to the beach was easier than I expected. I think it was 144 steps?|Our room was called Deluxe Ocean View... the ocean is far away but you can see it.|Thanks for a fantastic stay! I will post separate reviews for the hotel restaurants.

Not sure if this is listed as 5 star or 4 but definitely more of a 4 if it’s the former. |The room style, decor and size would feel a lot more up scale if it wasn’t for the awful green colour scheme, it really cheapens the aesthetic. Things in general feel dated. The TVs are not smart TVs, no additional apps or features on them just basic channels. The mini fridge is completely empty besides two milks, found the coffee/tea facilities to be poor. The room service food was actually a very good standard, choice is very limited for snacks and small plates. First night room service answered quickly but then not at all the next time. |The cleaning is throughout the day, this was great because we were out of our room and all different times and it always got cleaned well and water replaced at night.|A lot of the sunbeds and balcony furniture is a bit worn out, you can get to the bed service at the pools which is great, the beach is also amazing. |Breakfast choice is great. Good cocktails.|The only reason I’m giving a lower rating is because for what it is the price we ended up paying was obnoxious, we would absolutely not have paid it if we didn’t have to be here for a wedding.
