Epicenter is such a supportive and welcoming space. Even coming from years of teaching, being a student again here reminded me how humbling and rewarding it is to move through self-doubt. I genuinely loved it and found myself taking all the classes. The Boogiezone 10-week program and showcases were especially powerful and confidence-building. The instructors and community encourage growth, grace, and showing up anyway. Those moments when your body finally clicks are everything. If you want a space that feels safe, encouraging, and real, Epicenter is it.

They really go above and beyond to teach every step . I really enjoy their energy and welcoming environment. After a long day at work, this is what made me forget about all the stress at work. I totally recommend.

I've been coming to Boogiezone for over a year almost weekly and I love it! At first I tried a the Basics and Beginner Hip Hop classes with Elm. Since then, I've progressed into Intermediate, some advance, and have taken their Beginning Step program on Saturdays. Elm is such a great teacher, with a positive vibe, and makes dancing so much fun! I used to dance in the break scene a long time ago, but had kids and needed some polishing. I really wanted to train in choreography this time. I was amazed how Elm took beginners of all ages with no experience in dance, teach them choreography and had them dancing the steps by the end of the class! There is such a great feel of community with dancers and teachers-- it's basically like a family. Don't hesitate to come here, just come! You won't regret it! All levels welcome, including beginners!

This is my favorite dance studio! I've been dancing most of my life. I'm a senior now and I take Hip-hop at Epicenter Arts and Entertainment. They are so warm and welcoming and make you feel like your part of a family and the prices are very affordable. I love this place!🥰🕺💃

This was my second time to rent one of their studios. They offer few rental studios with different concepts. So, we can select a room meets our requirements for the project. The common area is furnished nicely. And the staff are very nice and friendly. We had a great time! I can't wait to book a rental studio at Epicenter again for my next project.

Just writing a review purely based on my personal experience. My friends had taken me to try the place out; first class taken was described as a “line dance” which ended up being some type of Zumba class - no choreography, more of a dance work out. Disappointed we ended up staying for Yumi. Had a great time and decided to get the new student package. I neglected to realize that the teaching schedule on there insta isn’t updated and there aren’t as many versatile classes as you would think. I go the following week to Yumis and the class was completely packed in room 6, the dance involved going backwards and let’s just say I had to leave early do to not being able to get the full experience. Where my biggest concern comes from is when I booked a dance room. I reached out in June about a booked and had to reach out multiple times via email to get a response, was given the wrong number to zelle, no confirmation sent, no communication after being told I would get a text. fast forward the day of my class they have no record of my booking, the room is double booked and I’m being bounced around. We get a room right after someone, floors are dirty with cups, the mirrors have hands all over and no windex to try and clean, the speakers would not connect for the first 30 mins because the person before was still there and didn’t disconnect, and once I was connected the speakers would randomly stop. I had to personally refund my students because of this experience as we didn’t more have enough time. I asked to be reached out to multiple times and would you be surprised? No one has reach out. Overall experience was a 1 star for me and hope that it’s a one off and others don’t have to go through that trouble.

I love this place so much! It has a friendly environment compared to other dance studios that can be very intimidating. I was always afraid to take dance classes but this studio made it easy for me to finally get confident in dancing! I highly recommend you take Boogiezone 4 Beginners 10 week workshop if you've never danced before, it definitely helped me build a foundation for hip hop and taught me how to succeed when taking dance classes!

This place is an amazing experience in all ways! Best dance studio in the South Bay by far, amazing instructors and you just feel like you’re part of the family immediately. If you’re a beginner (I was 43 and had never taken a class before) I suggest starting with the founder Elm Pizarro’s Basic Class. Elm makes everyone feel welcome and it’s so much fun!

Love the variety and level of classes offered here. Great mix of instructors. The schedule of updated every quarter. Great competitive teams for all levels too. Check it out. Ok, bye.

Love the different options of classes you can take. I'm an adult who doesn't like the gym, but loves to dance, so it's nice to have Epicenter to take classes at and I get to try different types too! Everyone is friendly and if you download MindBody it's easy to book your class and sometimes they have promotional offers.

Came here for my cousin's son's first bday and it was definitely a shock to find out that a venue like this was in such an unassuming location. It's in the old Torrance area and as many times as I've been in that area I would've never guessed there was a venue like this next to the Korean BBQ place. It's a lot of different studios that you can rent hourly (mostly dancing). The banquet room we were in was huge. The only downside is that it is on the second floor and there is no elevator. I checked the website and it's pretty reasonable w pricing. Would definitely rent this place if I had an event!

My top 5 biggest fears has been dancing. I've avoided it like the plague my whole life. Which is why I would take girls to jazz bars for dates because there is no chance for "bad bunny" to play and inspire the girl to want to dance with me. But NOW I can dance. After taking classes for 8 months, I've now conquered my fear of dancing with Elm's (dance studio owner) help. He's by far the best teacher I've had. I've tried maybe 2 other teachers and instantly quit with their teaching style, because it was too difficult and I couldn't keep up. Elm knows how to break things down for someone of any level to learn but still be challenged. I'm now doing intermediate classes finally and taking women to regular bars with good dance music playing. "I'm not afraid." - Eminem

Just completed a 3-day Argentine Tango Marathon, which took place at the Epicenter Arts over Memorial Day weekend. Working for the fist time with any new venue can be a bit stressful and require lots of extra coordinating to ensure that all the aspects are carefully planned out. I am grateful to Elm, the owner of this wonderful studio, and his staff for going over all the important details and making sure all our needs were addressed and questions answered. At the end, all our dancers, coming to LA from all over the globe to enjoy dancing tango for countless hours, loved the space and loved the overall experience. Thank you, Epicenter Arts! We are hoping to be back next year!

EPICENTER - Arts + Entertainment has an amazing studio -- it's beautiful, spacious, and really well designed. The environment makes it a great place to learn and be creative. There's plenty of room for everyone, which really helps during large classes. They have a fantastic lineup of teachers who are talented and supportive. Each instructor brings something unique to the table, and it's clear they're passionate about what they do. I've learned so much here and always look forward to my classes.

I tried out Epicenter for my first basic kpop dance class and I really loved it! The lobby itself looks very nice and the studio rooms also are a good size with LED lights in them which just adds to the experience. My instructor was Yerson Ochoa and he was amazing! He's such a great dancer, fun, funny, and such a great motivational instructor! He is such a passionate dancer and is very kind to very new beginners like myself who are taking their very first dance class. It was a great experience and I would love to take more classes here!

BEST place for hip hop dance classes!! I'm so lucky to live close to here. I hear from other students and instructors who have to drive an hr+ to make it down to the South Bay. There are great beginners and advance classes! The instructors are often working professional dancers and it seems like they'll teach snippets of pieces they've dance in. On of my fav is the Groov3 class. That one is less about getting it totally right and more just continuously moving. The choreo is usually so fun! I like the beginners class with Victor as well. There's a community app that you can join where they'll post videos of the classes if you want to see yourself or remember the choreo. Excited to try more classes here! They have kids classes as well.

A great dance studio and more! I just wish it was closer! Came in July for a beginner choreo class with Yuki, which was great! It was so fun and the last round of runs were video recorded. She teaches step-by-step with a welcomed amount of repetition to get the choreo, though I will say that particular class is best for beginners with a little bit of dance exposure due to pacing/difficulty. They do have a Hip Hop Basics type class as well I think. My only complaint that day was it was incredibly hot in the smaller room and I have only sweated more one time at a no A/C class in Orange (but since then I noticed they often do Yuki's beginner class in the larger room). Also approxinately 3 years ago, for reasons we try to forget about, I took some great online classes from Elm (owner and creator) and Bryan and Priscilla (I don't believe they teach here lately) that were really fun but also with friendly constructive feedback to help grow! Follow them on Insta cuz sometimes they have special class packs and keep their schedule updated :). There are quite a few classes of various levels. Hoping to come back again soon--if I lived closer would definitely come here at least weekly!

I absolutely adore this place and everyone in it!! I starting taking classes here a little more than a year ago. I was recovering from a botched foot surgery and needed another. But I needed to get my dance fix as an adult and this place was absolutely perfect for me!! Warm, welcoming and non-judgmental to people of all levels, ages and abilities. Elm, the owner, is a fantastic instructor who takes the time to actually get to know his students and always creates a super-fun party-like atmosphere in his classes!! I have also been consistently taking the Saturday morning 50+ Hip Hop class with Sheila, and I am proud to say I am now subbing for her in class whenever she is unable to teach!! Whether you are an absolute beginner, intermediate or advanced dancer, Epicenter has got you covered!! I have made many new friends and look forward to dancing here for years to come. Thanks for allowing me to throw a fun, thriving, 30 birthday and enjoy dance with dancers in the community. Props to the hospitality team for helping us make sure things ran smoothly. Was my own event coordinator and party planner. Rented the largest room upstairs. It was a night to remember. Thanks for a memorable day. My family had a great time as well and they came out from all over CA. Thanks Elm for being communicative and understanding with payment plans etc.

Really good communication, customer service, and they helped me set up my event, so everyone had a great time. My group had some issues but the staff were very helpful, so I appreciate them a lot. The person taking care of us was Tyler, he was very charismatic and kind, helping us with anything that we needed.

So I been coming to boogiezone for 6 month and few days. I have learned so much! The instructors are so amazing! And all the instructors are super really good! They really care about your growth. Also the people who come to boogiezone are super friendly. Boogiezone is an amazing community to be part of. I love boogiezone because it's a safe space and you can be yourself without any judgement. My usuals are Matt, Elm, Bryan and pricilla,Brandi. But now boogiezone has many more instructors which are really good so you can't go wrong with any of them. You have to check it out.

I've taken a couple classes from this studio and my experience has been pretty hit or miss. The first class I took was a Beginning Hip Hop class with April. First off, she came about 10-15 minutes late and acted as if nothing happened. The choreography she taught was pretty simple but a lot of the people in the class appeared to be first-timers and she seemed to almost get a little frustrated still with how the flow of the class was going. I also took a Beginning Contemporary class with Stacey, who was a great instructor. Understanding that there were different levels of dance experience, he was very patient and carried the class with a good flow that wasn't too exhaustively slow or overwhelmingly fast. Parking: Street parking available in the area

I really love this dance studio. They have a wide variety of classes with talented and skillful teachers. In addition, they have reasonable prices, a relaxed atmosphere and street parking. Come and join the fun!!

Fantastic, such a special place. More than dance classes, it's a welcoming community. The owner is so passionate, friendly, and helpful. Highly recommend for any skill level including people who don't think they can dance!

Came here for the annual H4 (Hip Hop Has Hxstory Conference) the event didn't disappoint. Ambiance: Parking: Mainly all street parking and most with limited hours (2 hours). However it seems like it is limitless on weekends. Feels: As for the space itself, it's pretty huge (about 7 rooms). Downstairs has multiple rooms that can probably fit about 40 people but 20 people comfortably. Upstairs is the master room that can house 100 people and the other with 60. It's a cozy yet vibrant space with boogiezone logo. Customer Service: The instructors were friendly and passionate. Good vibes all around. Overall: 5 stars. This may not be the fanciest, biggest, or cleanest but this is the place to be for a dancer. The price is about right and the art, choreo, and people are awesome. Definitely a one of a kind dance scene in LA. TL;DR Tips: * Come early for parking. * DONT BE SHY TO ASK FOR HELP.

11/19 still untimely as ever! Now, two months later AGAIN this Co won't GO AWAY! What part of I've unsubscribed, emailed, tried to call the phony # on your emailed flyers and told you to GO AWAY personally to stop your insanity yet you don't Get It? Now you've resorted to yelp to harass me and spam me because I've gotten my IT person to block your IP address sending me emails! This is what you will get when doing business with this company . Bad business practices , spamming, and harassment on yelp when you call them out .

So welcoming and accommodating to everyone. Special attention to those who has zero experience! Beginner classes are soooo fun

Really disappointing experience. Receptionist guy told me to check out the intro hip hop class, and when I showed up the receptionist said class was "canceled for the show." Wtf after arranging childcare and rushing to get family stuff done first. The facility was also ramshackle--no AC and stuffy rooms with fans but no ventilation. Walking by a bunch of dancers dripping sweat from head to toe on the way out I thought how different this place is from my kids' dance school with AC and nice flooring. Clearly on a shoestring budget and the smell of sweat and stuffy air was not a reason to come back.

Love that this place gives so many options for dance levels and different types of classes. The teaching and choreography is always so fun!

I've been to a few boogiezone hip hop classes back when I was a freshman in high school (8 years ago). I decided to return last night with my brother and friend who were interested in taking a hip hop class. I was seriously impressed to see how much the studio has grown since I've been there when I was 15 years old. I love how you can just drop in and take a class. That easy. The staff/instructors seem to be really genuine about wanting to create a safe space for dancers or all age and levels! Def will be coming back :)

This place is so unprofessional! Never in my life have I encountered such treatment like today! First, their speakers are pathetic. No way to connect your iPhone nor Bluetooth! Are you kidding me??? The owner is so quick to take our money but is no where to be found when we need assistance!!! But you're upstairs the whole time as we are going nuts asking for help and wasting time that we paid for ?!?!?!!!!! This is a mf joke !!!! Everyone told me not to step foot in this studio and here I go trusting them! I have never dealt with such a piece of sh**! Then he has the audacity to text me and ask us to leave?! Why??? Because you don't have the right equipment?!? Nor do you even bother notify the people renting it so we can come prepared?!? No wonder your business isn't growing! I will never step foot in this place again! Idgaf who is teaching!!!

Incredible studio. I've danced at studios in Northern California for the majority of my life; some in San Diego, and a couple in the Los Angeles area. BZ Utopia is hands-down one of my favorites for a multitude of reasons. 1) There's no snobby LA vibe here at all. The staff is welcoming and friendly and so are the instructors. 2) The curriculum. My goodness, would you look at the variety? Check out the schedule and see for yourself. This is not one of those studios where you walk in and immediately understand "ok, so this is a studio for crazy competitive 10 year old jazz dancers in crop tops" or "ok I get it, this is a mainly hip hop-focused studio". This is literally a studio for every type of dancer. Little kids to working mothers. Beginner and new to dance, to veteran of 15 years, to people somewhere in between like me, who have taken hiatuses from dancing and are looking to return to their passion. 3) The instructors. They are so gooooooood. Instructors drive from all over the place to come teach here. They all have different personalities but nonetheless they all have impressive backgrounds and some are actually quite famous if you follow the right circles; you'll recognize their names and their work and the impact they've made. I love that the classes here are usually balanced where you'll learn choreography, but the instructors will break it down for you and explain what they're doing in the process. We all know there's nothing more stressful that rubbing elbows with 40 other dancers in a classroom where you can barely see the instructor who's going way too fast and there's no intimacy or guidance or freedom. 4) The studio itself. It's a 2 story building with many different themed rooms. I feel like a student again running from class to class and I love it. Small note: It can get pretty stuffy in the summer. Literally students dripping with sweat uncontrollably. 5) The sense of community. I know this studio is (seriously, not just claiming to be, but SERIOUSLY) actively involved in the dance community and empowering our youth, often offering programs to students who are serious about a career in dance. They are so innovative and forward-thinking here. I never feel embarrassed or out of place dancing here, like I have in studios in the past. This is a completely safe zone to simultaneously work on your technique, while also unlearning it and learning to just love dance and to let yourself dance freely again. 6) Pricing. Very very fair. So far, I don't think there are any "master" classes that are more expensive (could be wrong). Same prices across the board. Membership and actual class prices/drop-in prices are some of the cheapest I've seen. But this studio doesn't mess around. Even though you will have to go through a process of trial-and-error to see what classes fit you best, I have always walked out of my classes feeling like I learned something about myself as a dancer as well as the style I took, and feeling challenged in my mind and my body. Really a place where you learn actively, something new every single time. Such a privilege to dance in this studio.

You get what you pay for, but sometimes it's just a damn good deal. Boogiezone Utopia belongs the to the latter category. I recommend the 20 classes for $200 deal that expires in 20 weeks because you know you have time to boogie once a week! Zumba with Nicole: I followed her from UFC and consequently found the utopia that is Boogiezone because I love her classes so much! Always a great workout filled with cardio, sass, and technique! (6/5) Bollywood with Regine: I don't understand why this doesn't have more students because bollywood dance is fun and I really do feel like a superstar during and afterwards. My only gripe is when I have trouble with a move, she glosses over it like I am doing fine (not!) and I have to ask her for the technique. Also, this doesn't make you sweat, so if you're trying to burn some calories this is not your class. (3/5) Pole with Jagged: They are very big on technique rather than being super sexy. Good, I like technique and I already ooze too much sex appeal (sike!). There are only two poles but if you're not a superstar on the pole, you get a LOT of guidance from the pole superstars. There are always newbies and returners and the instructor/and others are always there to physically get you to the position you need to be. I once did a beautiful firefly after awkwardly doing it badly a few times and the whole class stopped to clap. People travel as far as 30 minutes away to come here. That says something. (9/5) Tissu with Christina: She is wonderful and really pushes you to try new things! Don't trash your forearms with hoop beforehand because it gets impossible to climb the silk and do tricks if you're all weak and jello. (5/5) Hoop with Christina: If you're starting out, stick to one class a week unless that first class was so easy for you you went out and swam 3 miles afterwards. I was starting to blister my first class, then I took my next class two days later, had not improved (and possibly regressed dramatically), tore open blisters, and bruised the backsides of my knees. Two weeks later I improved dramatically but will stick to once a week. I suck but it's fun! I promise! (8/5) Stretch with Danielle: I take dance classes like mad but I am by no means stretchy. This class seems to do more for the already stretchy than for the unstretchy. I can do deeper stretches at home with the comfort of yoga mats and pads and pillows and everything comfortable. (3/5) Ballet with Grayson: He's adorable and fun and happy, but he'll make sure your technique is correct before you go on. Really fun class! (5/5) More classes to take and update! PS the advanced dance and hip hop classes look AMAZING! Too bad I am not cool enough to do hip hop! And I am blowing through my 20 classes - need to conserve.

They are known to book your event and cancel the WEEK BEFORE YOUR EVENT I had booked this place for my baby shower and they called me today a week before my event telling me that they need to cancel because of an event they wanted to put on . My event was already booked in advance and I signed a contract and paid a deposit to cancel someone's event the week before leaving me to find another venue in a week notice after I have booked and paid for everything regarding the event and have family that have bought plane tickets to come to my event to now not have one was super unprofessional and inconvenient in addition I constantly had to hit up the venue to get answers for things and you would think they would be faster at responding being that it's their fault and at no point did they inform me that they had to cancel my event even after they were paid but instead left me with so much stress mind you they did the same thing to a family member who booked with them a week before their event as well and I'm surprised someone hasn't tried to sue them Yet because they tell you that you can't get your deposit back if you cancel but fail to tell you that they get to cancel at any time they want to even if it's a week before your event I would not recommend booking parties or event with them at all!!!

I started casually taking dance classes in 2002 and had come across Boogiezone (BZ) dance forum during that time. Fast forward 17 years later and a very long hiatus from dance, I signed up for Classpass and came across Boogiezone again, but this time the dance studio! Out of all the dance studios I have been to in LA/OC, this studio has the most stacked schedule with over ten classes each day (except for Sunday) and across all styles. The students are also diverse in age and background. I've been to a few classes with only a handful of students, which makes it feel like a private session. I leave class feeling inspired and re-energized. Parking has not been an issue for me in the evening. Would love it if BZ would open up another location in LA/San Gabriel Valley! These are the teachers I've taken class with so far: Denny Junior - heels, hip hop Shannon Francheall - heels Diamond Lynn - heels Nicole Haro - contemporary Andrew Tiamzon - contemporary Maria Medellin - taken her heels class at Millennium OC and see that she also teaches hip hop at BZ

Boogizone is a great place, they have revamped and pushed a great vibe in this place. They are currently remodeling, but it's comming along. There ate hip hop classes, hoop classes and even pole dancing classes! The pole dancing is awesome!

My review is strictly for the teachers. I've had the opportunity to take class with: David Norwood (Stretching & Conditioning, Jazz Funk) Anthony Languren (Contemporary) Igi Echave (popping) Emeroy Bernardo (Beginning Breaking JP Goldstein (Freestyle 101) Nami Suzuki (Jazz Conditioning, Jazz Funk) I am a freestyle dancer who has never taken time to learn in the studio-- until now. I cannot express how positive my experience with each of these individual teachers has been. They each have extreme attention to detail, are wonderful to work with, and they really cater to their students. I love freestyle 101, popping, and breaking because each of those classes allow you free movement-- we do not learn choreography. But it's awesome because it allows you to learn how to move by your own volition. I love love love it! Then, for contemporary and jazz funk, I love the technical aspect of it-- by NO MEANS am I a ballerina. I am NOT classically trained, and I was so scared going into these classes because I knew I was going to suck, lol. But David and Anthony are so incredibly supportive and kind-- they've really pushed me forward and made me a better dancer. I always go in wanting to learn more. For Nami's class, she approaches from a different angle. She's a wonderfully experienced dancer from Japan and she trains you hardcore in the same way she learned! She's helped my form so much and I always get a work out in her class-- if you have two hours to spare on a Sunday, you should really try her classes. They're amazing. If you're looking to learn as a new dancer or you're an experienced dancer looking to evolve further-- I highly recommend classes at BU. If anything, the teachers are what make it definitely worth it.

This place is AMAZING!!!!! It's about an hour drive but so worth it!! My daughter and her friend took a master class here a few weeks ago and they learned so much in just two hours. The teachers were outstanding with them. They were the only little ones there under 8 but took home so much technique. Thank you for sharing your experiences with people of all ages!!!!

At the age of 43 I finally decided to take dance classes. I knew I wanted to try Hip Hop and when I searched Yelp, Boogiezone Utopia came up and although it's a bit of a drive for me I have not regretted one moment! I've been going there for 3 months now and here's a few thing why I love this place. 1. From the moment you walk into class you get a feeling of unity and support. The staff, instructors and fellow student all make you feel comfortable. 2. There are people of all ages! I really thought I'd be in class with only younger people but that isn't the case and it makes it so fun. 3. On Saturdays I bring my daughter and we take a class together. Instead of signing her up to their kids classes (which are also available) we decided to take a class together and we love it! 4. Their prices are great! 5. They have top class instructors on all levels, and not only Hip Hop classes are offered but contemporary, jazz, locking, Zumba and more. 6. I love taking Elm Pizarro's(the owner) basic class on Thursdays and Ryan Morris beginning on Saturdays! So to wrap it up, this place is awesome and you should definitely give it a try.

The studio and its students are always welcoming! So many incredibly talented dancers without the pretentious BS. I started dancing at the age of 38 to both exercise and connect with my 13-year-old son. We dance at Elm's beginning hip hop class on Wednesday's and we both LOVE it! My daughter (7yr.) also takes Luna's kids hip hop class. We've become a dancing family! You're never to old to dance...they have something for everyone including a class for 50+. My father is seriously contemplating the class now that's he's retired. Classes are all in the evening and there's so many different types of dance classes to choose from. I also dance in both Luna and Charrise's Zumba classes and Elm's Basics class. I love Groov3 on Monday's and April's class in Saturday's. My son has taken a locking class too. Nothing beats dancing your heart out after a really long day. Life changing with its positive vibes and welcoming community. Thanks for connecting me to my kiddos BZ and reminding me life is to short to sit still!! On a side note: Parking is challenging. If you get here as another class finishes, you'll find parking easily. It's also cheaper to buy an annual membership and the bundled classes. And trust me, I wish I had known sooner I would have loved it as much to save a bit of $. Now, the bundles are incredibly affordable. In the summer I got my son an unlimited pass in lieu of day camp and he got plenty dancing in this summer and it was the best way to get him to try a bit of everything and the variety of instructors!!

I don't typically go out of my way to write reviews but Boogiezone deserves to be shared. Having very little dance experience I have always wanted to try out some dance classes for fun but felt very intimidated. I finally got up the courage and decided to go try out a class. After my first class I just couldn't stop going back. Every class is exciting and the instructors all have their own style so no class is ever the same. I can only speak for the classes that I've taken but each one has something great to offer and the best part is that everyone here is super welcoming and encouraging. There are dancers of every age and level so don't worry and just go dance. Here are my experiences with classes I've taken so far(for a more complete and up to date schedule check out the Boogiezone website): Nami Suzuki -Jazz Funk (Saturdays @1:30PM) Nami's class is typically smaller and she really focuses on body isolations and technique. Her choreography is really about feeling the music and incorporating it into the dance. Nami teaches at a faster pace than the beginning classes but if you have a question she will make sure to review the parts you are unsure of and teach you how to get them right. This is a great class if you want a challenge or are looking to improve your isolations. A Jay "V" O Day- Kpop Moves (Mondays @6:30PM) As the title would suggest this class focuses on learning choreography for K-pop songs. This is a pretty new class. If you like Kpop try it out. Although I've only been to one class I will say that V made sure to go over difficult parts and encouraged people to ask questions to clear up any difficult moves. This class is taught at a faster pace than the beginning hip hop classes (this might change in future classes??) but if you are just starting don't be afraid to try it. I wasn't the best dancer in this class but I had a blast and everyone was very encouraging. Lala Brash-Beginner Hip Hop (Tuesdays @ 8PM) This is an awesome class for beginners. It is a smaller class and Lala is able to focus on making sure that everyone masters the moves. Her energy is contagious and her class is always fun. She is all about making you feel comfortable with yourself and the dance moves. I would highly recommend her class to anyone who wants to start dancing and have fun. Lala also teaches an intermediate class which I haven't tried but I've heard is also tons of fun. Elm Pizarro-Beginner HIp Hop (Wednesdays @ 8PM) Elm has a different style than Lala and he focuses a lot on footwork. This class is a lot bigger so it has a different vibe. You will learn a lot of great footwork and have tons of fun. Elm does a great job in breaking down the moves so that even in a large class you are able to learn the choreography well. TL;DR What are you waiting for go to Boogiezone now and get to dancing. Every instructor has a unique style and each class is so much fun. A judgement free dance zone. =D

Boogiezone is my heaven! Dancing at this studio is the best decision I have ever made. The experience I have had has been, quite literally, life changing in the most positive way possible. They offer so many different styles of classes. There is something for everyone. Any level and any age can dance here.. the studio members are so welcoming. As a beginner, I have never once felt judged, even when I have taken more advanced classes that I couldn't quite keep up with. The prices are a steal. $150 for the unlimited monthly package, meaning you can take as many classes as you want for that entire month. I take 2-3 classes a day, 5 days a week. I drive here every day from LA because it is WORTH IT. There is no where else I would rather be honestly. I smile the entire drive home every night. The staff & instructors are amazing and so so so kind. They are all incredibly talented, & they really do care about helping you develop your craft. I have a special type of respect for all of them. The owner of the studio, Elm, is truly one of the most incredible souls I have ever met. His energy brightens the room in an instant. He has had a huge impact on my life. Talking with him has helped me to truly believe in myself and realize that my dreams are actually possible, which has given me the confidence to pursue them full time. I am now creating the life I have always wanted. This is what I mean when I say that Boogiezone has changed the course of my life. I am so lucky to know him. Boogiezone is my home. I feel an indescribable type of genuine happiness that I didn't know existed before I started taking classes here, and it continues to grow every day. It is amazing. So, if you are debating whether or not to come here... COME!! I promise you will not regret it, and it is pretty safe to say you will make some new friends :) It's a big family!

I started going to this studio back in December, and within the 3 months I've been here, I've received nothing but support as I continue my dance journey. I was very nervous going to a dance studio since I'd never gone to an actual dance class before. My first class was with Elm and it was just way too much fun. I've tried to come every week since then. The dance community here has been nothing but supportive and they really push you to do better every time!

I've been meaning to come to Boogiezone and I'm glad I finally did! First off, let me just get this out there- the parking situation is horrid. It's hard enough to find this place if you're not familiar with the Torrance area but parking is really tight and frankly hard to find if you're a first-timer. Other than that, there is nothing bad I can say about the place. I took Beg/Int Hip Hop with Brandi and she's amazing. She's friendly, open to answering questions, and not to mention extremely talented. I was nervous coming by myself, not having danced for so long, but she had great energy and I was so happy that I came. I LOVE this place!

This place is great for beginners as well as veterans. I bought a 5 pack of dance classes from Groupon to take beginning hip hop. When I arrived I was checked in in under 5 minutes for the Wednesday night "start here" beginning hip hop. Elm was a great teacher and even though I had never been to a dance class it was very friendly and not judgmental. I'm 6" 210, not your classic dancers frame but I was able to keep up and learn the choreography by the end of the session. No matter how "white" you think you dance, you can always have fun and improve at boogiezone utopia!

I love the classes and the instructors. I recommend taking the Monday night beginners hip hop class with Erica she's so nice and welcoming.

This is my favorite dance studio! I take hip-hop, popping and locking. The teachers are great and the prices are great! Elm runs a great studio and is a great teacher and makes everyone feel so at home in his studio.

Great dance studio. I paid a year membership due of ~$25 to get dance classes at $11 for the student rate. There are bundles to make it cheaper. Otherwise, the teachers are great. The studio space itself is pretty legit.

So this was my first time coming to Boogiezone Utopia and was not sure what I was getting myself into. Walking in I felt a welcoming home-y atmosphere. The staff, the people taking classes, and the teachers. This is contrast from the other LA dance studios I've visited - where the front desk people are stoic and stern and not having a great time. But everyone here is amazing. I came for their $10 dance day (meaning you can take all day classes for just $10) When I say the studio is a Community - I mean it is truly for the dance community. They do not discriminate, judge, or look down upon anyone. Everyone brings each other up, not tear them down. There is a variety of classes I tried: 'Tribal Hip Hop Fusion' with Aaron Davis (he was a lot of fun) '90's Hip-Hop' with the studio owner Elm Pizarro (one of my favorite classes and very beginner friendly) 'Beginning/Int Hip-Hop' with Brittany Johnson (I felt was advanced but I've been on competition dance teams and this one was great) 'House' with Hans Pierre (he really gives you a foundation of steps and a way to really listen to music) 'Int/Adv Hip Hop' with Hans Pierre (we did a smooth hip-hop routine and he plays a lot with musicality and details in performance) 'Jazz Funk' with Jeffrey Liang (this guy knows his jazz technique and knows how to perform - I would say Int/Adv but fun) 'Int/Adv Hip-Hop' with Hillary Santos (really works through the movement and never LEAVES you hanging - wants to make you feel you've accomplished your dance goal for the class) 'Int/Adv Hip-Hop' with Elm Pizarro (this guy is just fun with his choreo and super approachable and humble guy) The atmosphere of the building again is home-y (a lot of lounge couches) The changing facilities are the bathroom but it's very typical. I didn't really get to explore the surrounding area but a lot of businesses and city buildings. I highly recommend this studio for anyone. The cool thing about this place is you have all walks of life and levels of dancers come to this facility (young, old, teens, college, int/adv dancers, beginner dancers, dance enthusiasts) I hope I will get to come back soon since it's a bit far from my neck of the woods - I guess you can say this was a dance adventure and hope to come back!

Before I get started I have to say I moved here in August of 2012 from Pennsylvania, and Boogiezone was one of the first places I had to stop and take class at. They are a world renowned community program, and coming from the smaller "Boogiezone East Coast" branch, I had to see what the center of it was all about. I apologize for the in depth review, but this place truly deserves it. Boogiezone Utopia is a hidden treasure. It is one of the few local studios that I feel provides accurate and unique hip hop classes that cater not only to their current students, but the entire surrounding community as well. The teachers at this studio are extremely humble, friendly, and well known. Each teacher honestly works to the best of their ability to give the students the "bang for their buck". GREAT FANTASTIC TEACHERS!!: This is probably the point I stress the highest. Coming from an extremely limited community to this is INCREDIBLE. This place has some phenomenal teachers pass through it. Teachers from MTV's America's Best Dance Crew (ABDC) frequently work and or visit the studio. Teachers include Ricky Cole (ABDC Season 7's Mos Wanted), Cindy Minowa (ABDC Season 1's Kaba Modern), Beau Fournier (ABDC Season 2 and Season 7's Fanny Pak), Mike Song (ABDC Season 1's Kaba Modern), Pharside (America's Got Talent Academy of Villains), Krystal Meraz (America's Got Talent Academy of Villains), Teresa Espinosa (ABDC Season 3's BeatFreaks), Alexis Avila (ABDC Season 3's Team Milennia) Jag6ed (ABDC Season 6) and so many more. Teachers also include large names in the team/community circuit as well such as Elm Pizarro founder and creator of Boogiezone Community Class, Paul Ross (Choreo Cookies), Angelina Grima & Karlo Fatima (Mischief Makers) and Jonathan Sison (Disney, Culture Shock LA, and Mischief Makers). EVEN IF YOU HAVE NEVER DANCED BEFORE THESE TEACHERS KNOW HOW TO BREAK IT DOWN!!! You will find yourself growing ridiculous amounts here. Whether dancing to be a professional, be on a team, or just for fun YOU WILL LOVE IT HERE! Incredible Schedule: This studio offers class almost EVERY night of the week (with the exception of Fridays) clearly leaving time to for you to go to the club and show off your new moves!! This studio has hip hop class every day (and with great teachers I might also add). It is easy to find a class that will work with your current work schedule. The classes usually begin around 4:00 PM and the last class starts at 9:00 PM (a perfect amount of time to go home, shower, eat and then hit up the studio). What more could you ask for? The classes might I add also not only focus on the "commercial" styles of hip hop but also the various foundational elements (popping, locking, and breaking). The studio also has some really cheap rental space if you need to rehearse for an upcoming talent show, or side project. Prices: The prices are a tad steep if you are used to paying $10 for a class. HOWEVER I will say that if you compare this to a studio such as Broadway Dance Center in New York the classes are affordable. Classes in NYC usually range from $15 -$18. The classes here are $14 (at MOST). There are cheaper packages and with a membership; students can take class for only $8. Membership might I add is only an annual fee of $25. Environment: This is something I HAD to put in this review. I have been to many students in my years of dancing. Boogiezone Utopia is one of the FRIENDLIEST places I have ever been. The student environment is never competitive nor a "cut throat" environment to say the least. I have always been supported and encouraged to be the best I can be here by the staff, owners, and students. It is extremely pleasant to be in such a courteous learning environment. Website: The website is definitely a little tricky to navigate to say the least. It is actually probably the "most negative" thing I can talk about. I would HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend making sure you are on the correct website. If you cannot view the schedule through boogiezoneutopia.com you can always google "boogiezone clients mind body" to get to the proper website. I would also call and confirm the scheduled teacher does not have a substitute (similar to Broadway Dance Center the teachers are always traveling the world). The studio does it's best to update the web schedule, but sometimes last minute cancellations do occur. The substitutes ARE just as phenomenal though. Paper schedules are available at the studio though so carry one with you in your wallet just to be safe. Overall this studio definitely deserves 4 out of 5 stars. I always say improvement is possible as the website being down sometimes is obnoxious, and substitutes can be a pain. The schedule though is truly rotating, and so you can catch some REALLY good teachers here. $10 community class on Thursdays is at 9:00 and that teacher is ALWAYS changing. Free Trials STARTED!! Utopia, unlike most Hollywood dance studios, has more classes that have people that are there to have fun and less about being serious. That being said, I took a class here that was the most fun I have had in years and reminded me why I love dancing so much. Utopia is a great studio that has a strong balance between fun and serious classes with a positive atmosphere. Teachers/Classes: Floor/Facilities: Utopia has two different dance floors. One is big and has tons of space to move around along with another studio that is a bit smaller. Classes: Groove with Andrew. Class has a focus on learning the beat and musicality in songs. Class is very fun and less about getting the moves and just having a good time. This is a GREAT beginner class for people learning to get familiar with their bodies and learn the basics of hip-hop musicality. Notes: Most of your experience will vary from teacher to teacher, some will be better at teaching than others, you'll like certain styles more than others, etc. Do your best with what people are trying to teach you and you'll have a good time no matter what!

Love this place!! It's about a 45 min drive from my house but hey there's no traffic (Sun morning) and its well worth it. The front desk girl Autumn is very personable and was very helpful when I had a few questions the first time i came here. I was like um is this class popular, is it hot in there etc you get the picture and she answered all my questions kindly. Also, they email you the class receipt which is cool. I hate having 5,000 receipts jammed in my wallet only to have it burst at the seams. This is the 21st century and BZ utopia is on board! I take class here Sunday morning with Arthur Crenshaw. I love this class soo much!! The choreo is BOMB!! I like that he switches it up. One day we'll be grown and sexy, the next we thuggin it out bout ta battle in da club fa reals!! I like how he engages with the class (very funny and it doesn't hurt that he is cuuuuuuuuuute *wink*). The only con is that the studio is really hot. I mean like hell hot. I mean like you better bring all the H20 in the world because between sweating from the routine and the lack of air flow you might just pass the hell out. But I'm still dancing! Just have the paramedics give me a fluids IV when they arrive...

I've seen Utopia (formerly known as Hype) go through a few changes in the last 4 years and I must say, this latest change in management is by far the best move it's made since the location has been a dance studio. Not only is there is a whole new awakened energy but there have been many changes to the actual space and the schedule of classes. The south bay no longer has to deal with the 405 in order to take class with the likes of Teresa Espinosa, April Rodriguez, Ray Basa, etc etc etc which is great for locals like me! Also, Utopia as a whole, keeps the same positive ambiance as Boogiezone classes and encourages the dance community and the dance industry to be one big happy family. The facility is also so much cleaner than before! The new paint and positive titles for each room are a big sign to students that this studio will be taken care of and every detail is taken into consideration. There is still a lot of work to be done but the potential are just as huge as the square footage of Utopia. The parking is probably the only issue but since I usually take classes later at night it hasn't really effected me too much. I take dance to rid myself of everyday stress and negativity that life can at times bring as well as to grow as a dancer and express my love for the art. It's so nice to take classes from a location that not only encourages growth and positivity as well as developing the technique and love for dance but it too is also growing, learning, loving and developing. It really is the "perfect imperfection".

Review for Groov3 dance class with Ben Allen: My mind was telling me nooooooo, but my body my body said yeaassssss!!! This class is the shizzle. I can bump and grind up in the club, but hip hop choreography is typically not my cup 'o tea. I dont know what Ben does, but its hip hop magic. I feel like I learned the dance moves by osmosis. The combination of live DJ and Ben's energy force your body into doing things you never thought possible. I hate hate hate that I live in Long Beach and have to trek out here for the class, but I love love love Living Social for giving me the opportunity to check out this class at low cost. The studio sign says something performing arts center. The place is called Boogiezone. And the website is hypestudios? Can be confusing. The parking lot is adjacent to the studio, but doesnt look like it. Its ok. Park there. I love the design and layout of the whole place, and I might be interested in checking out additional classes.

This review is solely based upon the Dance Instructor Lala! Her beginner Hip Hop class on (Tue @ 8pm ) is exactly what my 13yr old daughter was looking for. She's professional on every level. She takes time to teach regardless of your dance skill level. My daughter also takes Lala's intermediate Hip Hop class (Wed @ 8pm). Lala's energy and vibe sets the atmosphere to dance. She really makes my daughter feel comfortable! The staff is also awesome!
