15 Copenhagen-inspired Capsule Wardrobe Styles to Pack

"When I went to Epicurus, a new jazz club that opened in the old medieval town, I found it to be an upscale venue that enforces a casual-but-elegant dress code; while Copenhagen’s nightlife is generally laidback and jeans-and-sneakers friendly, guests at Epicurus tended to dress to impress, with women in black cocktail or maxi dresses paired with stylish flats or heels and men in button-down shirts with sport coats and dark-washed jeans or pants." - Leila Najafi Leila Najafi Leila Najafi is a Los Angeles-based luxury travel and lifestyle writer, editor, and on-air travel expert. I had been looking forward to this dinner as I had been seeing the adds about the opening for months. I love good food and I’m more than happy to invest in the experience but I have to say this has been a disappointment. We chose the 5 course menu (700+DKK) but it really consists of two “mains” and 2 small sides to be shared between me and my partner + dessert. When I say small sides, I mean one was half a scallop with 5 cherry tomatoes on top and the other consisted of 3 salad leafs with yogurt…and they were to share. The portion sizes were ridiculously small, so much so that my boyfriend had to get food after. The location is very nice but, service is just ok - staff was actually very nice BUT not to the level of professionalism you would expect by what they are branding the place to be, for example, most of the waiters could not even explain the dishes in English even if the menu is in English… Total cost of the food shown in the pictures below + a very bad dessert+ 2 glasses of wine = 2000DKk (almost 300euros) Really not worth your money. We wanted to attend the jazz concert after but we quickly realised that a) it wasn’t there in the restaurant but at the bar, in a separate area and b) we had to pay an additional 600dkk each to attend! Needless to say, we declined the offer and went home after the dinner. I doubt we will go back, especially if they keep the offer at a level that simply does not match the price.

Unique venue in Copenhagen for delicate food, well made coctails, good wine and last but not least jazz in an upscale high ceiling room. Highly recommendable

If you read all the negative reviews you will get a good overview of the place. 3 out of the 5 dishes from the menu were some sort of lettuce, and that was the best part… I don’t get why restaurants fumble this bad. Our waiter was super nice to us since I think they know the place is not up to what it promises.

Beautiful spaces; incredible food & drinks; kind, attentive service, and phenomenal music from world-class artists. What more could you want?

Incredibly small portions, I left feeling hungry. This is what they call a main course.

We were only there for the food but where a bit disappointed. The quality was good but the 5 course menu was not very creative. Fish with grilled salad and simple tomato salad on the side, meat with grilled salad and a side salad with Joghurt and olive oil. The focaccia was nice and the dessert as well but we expected a bit more from the kitchen.

We had been curious to try this place after seeing all the TikTok and Insta videoes with jazz and fine dining, but the reality was very different. First of all, the jazz and the restaurant are two separate locations, which isn’t made clear when booking a table. As for the food: the grilled monkfish was fine, but the “grilled beef” was just 3 tiny slices for over 300 dkk. All of the appetizers were half bite sizes. We were 6 people dining, and every single one of us left hungry, even though we ordered drinks with the meal. Portion sizes are simply far far far too small for the price point, and the whole experience feels more like flashy marketing than substance. The only real plus was the service. The staff were honest and explained the situation openly, which we really appreciated because without that, the evening would have felt like a complete waste. In the end, we paid premium prices for what felt like half portions, misleading branding, and left without the jazz experience we came for. Definitely not worth the price
