15 Copenhagen-inspired Capsule Wardrobe Styles to Pack

"When I went to Epicurus, a new jazz club that opened in the old medieval town, I found it to be an upscale venue that enforces a casual-but-elegant dress code; while Copenhagen’s nightlife is generally laidback and jeans-and-sneakers friendly, guests at Epicurus tended to dress to impress, with women in black cocktail or maxi dresses paired with stylish flats or heels and men in button-down shirts with sport coats and dark-washed jeans or pants." - Leila Najafi Leila Najafi Leila Najafi is a Los Angeles-based luxury travel and lifestyle writer, editor, and on-air travel expert. The food is not worth mentioning.. average and without structure. The taste was absent. But the design of the place and the jazz-bar looks great.. the service was friendly and welcoming but under staffed and missing out on the professionalism. Will come again for for jazz and drinks for sure. But the kitchen need to take some steps upwards if it has to match the carpet.

I had been looking forward to this dinner as I had been seeing the adds about the opening for months. I love good food and I’m more than happy to invest in the experience but I have to say this has been a disappointment. We chose the 5 course menu (700+DKK) but it really consists of two “mains” and 2 small sides to be shared between me and my partner + dessert. When I say small sides, I mean one was half a scallop with 5 cherry tomatoes on top and the other consisted of 3 salad leafs with yogurt…and they were to share. The portion sizes were ridiculously small, so much so that my boyfriend had to get food after. The location is very nice but, service is just ok - staff was actually very nice BUT not to the level of professionalism you would expect by what they are branding the place to be, for example, most of the waiters could not even explain the dishes in English even if the menu is in English… Total cost of the food shown in the pictures below + a very bad dessert+ 2 glasses of wine = 2000DKk (almost 300euros) Really not worth your money. We wanted to attend the jazz concert after but we quickly realised that a) it wasn’t there in the restaurant but at the bar, in a separate area and b) we had to pay an additional 600dkk each to attend! Needless to say, we declined the offer and went home after the dinner. I doubt we will go back, especially if they keep the offer at a level that simply does not match the price.

I attended a New Year’s jazz concert and had a wonderful experience. The venue is beautiful, and I was warmly welcomed at the entrance and guided to the correct hall. Throughout the evening, the staff kindly asked if we would like something to drink. Everyone was friendly and attentive, which made the evening even more enjoyable.

Wait staff was really nice but clearly being put in a no-win situation…sat for 1 hour before receiving our first course…was briefly told that there’d be a delay but no other communication. Snacks were okay, the Duck was cold, though the cheesecake dessert was decent. With all of the preceding negative reviews, not sure they are going to get this figured out.

Mediocre at best! We had the tasting menu for 695dkk the food definitely didn’t match the price tag in quality or taste, service was greatly lacking, overall a disappointing experience. The advertisement and instagram page shows something completely different. The jazz is experience is separate and you have to pay separate for it. Just overall very disappointing wouldn’t recommend or go back.

Besides a stupid website to make bookings, and what seems to be chaotic management (having tried to get in contact with them), the jazz club itself is phenomenal. The grand room, the ambience, the comfort, the cocktails, the service, the well-curated musicians. A high price tag but worth it for a splurge once in a while.

It's a beautiful place, but - the food is definitely not worth the price (too much lettuce-like grilled dishes, the 5 course menu is actually a 3 course as 2 "courses" are side dishes, and the dessert could be home made tbh) - the service team was super nice and polite, but didn't take empty/dirty dishes from our very small table, and brought a meat dish to a vegetarian. They corrected it, eventually, but it's not what's expected from a restaurant at this price point.

We'd read the previous negative reviews and were a little worried about what the expect. It seems however that the restaurant has been actively working on improving serving sizes. We thought that all the courses were good portion sizes, and actually enjoyed the food served. The staff continuously checked in on us and made sure everything was alright. There was a seasonal item on our set menu of Jerusalem artichokes that was by far the star of the show for us! One thing to note was that we'd missed the suggested dress code element, and were slightly underdressed - but no one else seemed to notice but ourselves.
