The Cheapest Places You Can Fly to From All 50 States

"October’s cheapest domestic flight is to Denver for $47 and the October international pick is Vancouver at $269. Across other months the airport continues to show budget domestic service to Denver and rotating international savings to Canadian and Mexican beach destinations." - Stacey Leasca Stacey Leasca Stacey Leasca is an award-winning journalist and co-founder of Be a Travel Writer, an online course for the next generation of travel journalists. 9 Beautiful Castles in America That You Can Visit

"In 1903, this Scottish Baronial-style mansion—with crow-stepped gables, crenellations, and small turrets–was completed as the 35-room private home of George and Sarah Joslyn. Today, the preserved building is on the list of National Historic Landmarks and operated by the state of Nebraska. In addition to public visits, “The Castle,” as it’s colloquially referred to, is available for private tours and events, from weddings to photoshoots to corporate dinners. Closest airport: Omaha Eppley Airfield Airport (OMA), 7 miles While you’re here: Downtown Omaha is brightened with murals of public art tucked into its distinct neighborhoods (like the Old Market and Aksarben Village)." - Jillian Dara

Easy to navigate. There are many parking spaces available, depending on whether you park close to the airport or at other companies that have their shuttles to take you there. I usually go to Park N Go, which has good pricing, but the downside is no roof over your car. Anyway, the airport has been under construction lately to make it international, which is awesome but there are many signs and barriers to tell you where to go to make it to your designated gate. Overall, can't wait for the Eppley Airfield upgrade to be finished. Well, I hope some of you guys find this helpful. See ya👋

Visited Omaha Airport a few months ago and had a really smooth experience. The airport is clean, easy to get around, and not too crowded, which made traveling stress-free. Security lines were quick, and the staff was helpful and friendly. There are some food and drink options, though not a ton, but overall it’s comfortable and convenient. Parking and pickup were easy, too. For a smaller airport, it gets everything right!

Google
There was no line for security but they checked items in literally everyone's carry on bags which made it take a significant amount of time to get through. They checked to make sure toiletries were the proper size and it held up the line that only formed from checking every bag going through the scanner. There are limited food choices inside. The airport is small and construction is in progress which creates traffic and blocks certain areas. Not an airport I will fly in or out of again if I can help it.

I absolutely love Omaha! It’s such a beautiful city. The people are Kind & beautiful too! During my recent trip, I flew through Eppley Airfield and noticed it’s currently undergoing a major terminal modernization, known as the Build OMA Terminal Modernization Program . While under construction, the airport is split into two separate terminals (North and South) to enable the upgrade, and travelers now move between them using walkways and the South Garage’s lower level . The central portion of both levels is closed since February 2025 . The good news? These changes are part of a bold vision to transform Eppley into a modern, unified terminal with new gates, a central pavilion, streamlined security, and expanded dining and retail options—expected to debut around 2027‑2028 . Despite the construction, the airport staff, signage, and orientation aids have made navigating surprisingly smooth. I found everything clearly marked and assistance readily available, so inconvenience was minimal. Overall, I’m optimistic about the future of OMA. I believe once the modernized terminals, improved concessions, and passenger-centric design are complete, it’ll be nothing short of magnificent. For now, patience and planning will make the experience enjoyable.

Google
The friendliest TSA personnel I have ever experienced, I am going to miss the pizzas they sold at terminal B, I always saved room for them. It's under construction, but they have everything very organized, so it was a smooth pick-up and drop-off. Thank you. Omaha will be back soon

Google
Small airport and easy to get out. The car rental terminal is brand new and nice You can walk to the car rental terminal and no shuttle needed. United has two no. Stop flight from SFO. Southwest connects via Denver

Flying out of Omaha EPPLEY Airfield. Lots of things happening with a new terminal being built We flew out of B terminal and lots of snacks to food to cocktails to choose from.

Google
Worst food service imaginable. For the bazillions of dollars in renovations one would think you could have decent food service. The B terminal people are disgusting. For example of the food service, the menu says the Tex mex burrito comes with salsa…but they don’t serve it with salsa and instead want to charge you .75 for the salsa. A girl asked for a cup for water and they changed her .50. FOR a CUP?!? One lady was too busy packing her cigarettes and taking a smoke break instead of working. It’s the only option for food and this is the best we can do? Come on.

Yelp
Eppley Airfield. Lots of construction to make it an international airport. Please don't lose your charm!!! Lots of residential and industrial roads to get here but nonetheless very quaint. South Terminal - American Airlines, Delta - appears to be larger than the North Terminal - Southwest - may be my imagination. Ok, bye.
google avatar

Karen M.

Yelp
You don't appreciate our airport until you travel to huge airports with trams, trains and disjointed designs . Easy to travel from. East to pick up travelers- even with the construction.

Yelp
I am so spoiled to be a native Oregonian because PDX is the most beautiful airport in the USA. I was shocked at the state of the Omaha airport. It is under construction. PDX had recently been renovated so I know what construction/remodel can do to an airport but PDX did it SO WELL. The airport was just dirty, confusing, the way they closed the airport into two sections, where they had ride share pick up...the signage wasn't well placed and it made no sense at all. There's only 2 places to eat with the same vendor so food offerings are slim. I hope it turns out better because this gets a 1 in my book! I have no photos sorry!!

Yelp
Construction continues to improve and update our local airport. Small in size relative to some, this transportation hub serves a surprisingly large number of airlines. Drop off has been made a lot easier with more lanes outside the terminal, but be patient until work is done for ease of access. Restaurants are still somewhat limited and many of the little shops that were there are closed. Well construction is underway. Not a bad option for flying out of Omaha
google avatar

Shelby J.

Yelp
This airport, although the Omaha airport, is located right across states lines in Iowa. On the small side. I will have to update my review on the way out to see how accommodation it is for passengers.
google avatar

Yelp
Small airport! Make sure to pack sandwiches or buy food before you come to the airport because there are slim pickings. You can get a smoothie drink, personal pan pizza, cheeseburger, once cleared TSA. Expensive, but it's your only option. Did you know: You can have ice (no liquids..drink it or pour out) in a container, going through TSA, and it is okay, because it is a SOLID?'!? My tip would be to pack whatever it is you will need, if you plan to come to the airport hungry. If you came to drink before your flight, this is the area where I feel they succeed in. Great drinking atmosphere, close to gates that are within 200 yards apart. Someone will yell for you to let you know the flight is boarding! Lol.

Yelp
This is a local airport, small but very organized. The staffs are friendly and helpful. On the weekdays it does look hectic when several airlines are fully booked . I enjoy traveling here .
google avatar

Nicole E.

Yelp
Smaller airport than I was thinking. It's late, but we finally made it after maintenance issues on our first flight out from Grand Forks, which caused us to be late for our connecting flight. GFK staff were trying to book us a connection the next day, but Delta staff at MSP were luckily able to get us in the same day, even if it was late. Most of the airport looks to be under construction. Everything is closed, since it's so late tonight. Some confusion on which conveyer our bags were being dropped off, no dice on the first. Second time was a charm at least.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent y this time! Right on time....very well organized...very informed..and enjoyed my flight ..large plane..charging plug in at every seat on the plane..and spacious leg room..full flights but plenty of leg room
google avatar

Caletta G.

Yelp
Only 1 gift shop and 1 restaurant on each concourse, and everything is way too expensive. It cost me $31 for a chicken sandwich, and bottle of water, and a bag of chips...ridiculous. At least getting through the security checkpoint wasn't a hassle.
google avatar

Helen H.

Yelp
We returned our rental car and walked over to concourse A. There was a lot of construction in between. The TSA precheck line was short. When we got to the A gates, it was quite crowded. There seemed to be only one set of bathrooms, and there was usually a line for the women's.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a very small airport that is easy to get in and out of. The staff there is very friendly and helpful. The airport is very clean. You do not have to take a shuttle to get to the rental car facility, but it is not located in the terminal. You will find it in the adjacent customer service building. The airport is about 10 or 15 minutes from downtown and most hotels have shuttle service. The airport consists of a single terminal with two small concourses (A&B), spread across 20 gates (ten gates per concourse). They have very limited food and shopping options. Some of the shopping options include: Godfather's Pizza, A&W, KFC, and Blimpie. This is one of the few airports that doesn't have a Starbucks. The gates are basic and not all seats have power outlets. They are your standard old traditionl chairs. You know, the uncomfortable vinyl ones. You will find a lounge area just outside each terminal, and a bunch of lounge chairs on the walkway between the two terminals. Of course there is free wifi at the airport and there are large and small conference rooms are available for rent in the north terminal. Other airport amenities include a first aid room, and service animal relief areas on the lower level and a nursing room on the upper level. I liked this airport it is an easy in and an easy out. It is not the most trendy or high tech airport, but it works. It is not my favorite airport, but I enjoyed my stress-free transit through here.
google avatar

Cheol K.

Yelp
A smaller airport in Omaha, but fairly simple to navigate. It has a slightly out of date decor, but was fairly clean. I appreciate how the rental car center is next to the airport, connected by a skybridge. It is so easy to navigate your way to and through Omaha. I'm used to Seattle traffic and this was easy to get through here.
google avatar

Dallas A.

Yelp
As a traveler, Omaha's airport is easy to get to, and the security lines are small and move quickly. It's easy to get to rental cars, parking, and Uber/Lyft pick-up spots. That said, it definitely feels like the oldest airport I've been to (though signage says that remodeling is happening soon) -- it's lacking any modern art or architecture and feels very boxy. There are very few dining options, and not many charging stations around the gates. So while it's easy to fly into and out of, a remodel will certainly make this a more enjoyable experience.
google avatar

Jim L.

Yelp
Absolutely the best place to fly out of Omaha. Everyone is friendly and helpful. I didn't run into a single jerk. My flights took off and landed on time. TSA was quick and professional.
google avatar

Katie N.

Yelp
I'm hoping to see major improvements to Eppley in upcoming years. Truly, it needs a large overhaul. It's silly to have 90% of food options before the security checkpoint. If you're in the North Terminal, your options for food are Scooters, pizza, or $20 for the driest Blimpe sandwich you've ever eaten. The benefit of Eppley is that the time from arrival to sitting at your gate is under 15 minutes.

Teresa F.

Yelp
What a shit show. Hudson's need to hire competent people! Woman working today just said I couldn't buy something because she didn't know the price. Then got mad that I needed a receipt! She should be fired with her terrible attitude! And your airport sucks! Food is crap! Hate flying in there!
google avatar

Kevin A.

Yelp
Today for a Friday I was surprised by how clean the airport was. If your going to park in the north or south structure pay ahead of time it's cheaper. Check it out on line. While the place is going through construction right now it appears they are doing a decent job of managing the process.

Yelp
AIRPORT: This is a large airport with small town airport vibes. Security is quick, flights are timely, and there's plenty of space to stretch out as you wait. As Yelper Valerie G. mentioned, "the airport is functional, easy to use, and simple." This would warrant a 4 star review, however, the FOOD SCENE... ...is a hot mess. Despite getting to the airport at 5 p.m., everything outside of security (except the coffee shop) was closed. The airport website suggests things close at 6 p.m. The remaining choice is Kracky McGee's (Concourse A) or North Hangar (Concourse B). After two visits, I get the feeling no one wants to be working the late shift at OMA. Do yourself a favor, get some food BEFORE you go through security and take advantage of what Eppley does best.

Deb C.

Yelp
The bartender today at 10:30am was extremely rude. Served alllll of the males in a row. Skipped the females including me and I called him out on it. Rolled his eyes. I'm reporting him to the airport supervisors as well
google avatar

Heath U.

Yelp
Airport operations is sincerely suffering. It was only Thursday when I arrived here and it took 20 minutes for them to find someone to operate the jet bridge. Wow!!! Then, departing today, their fuel truck operator did not put enough fuel in one side of the aircraft, which meant that we are already 20 minutes after our departure time and will likely be 40 minutes before we depart. This being said, the first level men's restroom was absolutely horrid and a mess. Omaha, GET IT TOGETHER! You're trying to build a better airport yet your basic front and back of house operations are a mess!
google avatar

Molly M.

Yelp
If anyone has complaints about Eppley I would tell them to live in Dallas and travel through both of those airports before you say anything. -__- Easy to park, terminal A is difficult for navigating and for parking right now because of the construction but I am sure once that's complete it will make more sense. I can be dropped off and sitting at my gate within 10 minutes sometimes. I have traveled through both the southwest and American sides multiple times and there's a small food court and scooters before entering through security, and then on the southwest (b terminal) side is a scooters and bar and on the American (a terminal) side is a kracky McGee which is just your average bar. Neither side has had an insane wait for getting through tsa and after 20+ travels through here now I would say 15 min is the most I've ever had to wait.
google avatar

Sandy B.

Yelp
This is a smaller airport, but I like a lot of things about it. For starters, their website is very useful and interactive. Every parking spot even tells you how full it is by %. They have two concourses with a large space between them. So you would have to leave security in Concourse A to go to Concourse B. I arrived at Concourse A. It's tight and crowded. I still had to wait 2 hours for the rest of my party. So if you just leave security you will find lots of space. Love the individual work couches.
google avatar

Gabrielle G.

Yelp
This airport is small and cramped. It's not accessible for people with disabilities. It's a regional airport in a city of 800,000 that feels like it was built for 50,000. There isn't much to do, seating is very limited, and it feels chaotic near the gates and security, and dead before you get there. I will avoid this airport in the future.
google avatar

Lesley M.

Yelp
This was my first time flying out of this airport. Overall, I had a great experience with limited comments. Arriving is always a challenge I feel like with the constant construction. Upon arrival, I had a twenty minute wait to go through TSA. I love there's a Scooter's coffee station right after TSA. Very few gates to choose from which makes navigation easy. The bathrooms were clean and will stocked from what I saw.
google avatar

Ivan C.

Yelp
Overall this airport was easy to navigate. Upon arrival we had to go downstairs to the baggage claim, then go back upstairs to head over to the car rental garage. When you leave, especially if you rented a car, remember that the bag check-in is downstairs and you'll have to go back upstairs to go through TSA. There are some shops and spots to grab food or drinks before having to go through security, which I'd recommend since I only saw 1 or 2 places to do so in the gate area.
google avatar

D'Anthony F.

Yelp
Upon arriving at Eppley, I didn't realize how intimate it was. Passing through larger airports frequently, I appreciated this great place! Unlike airports in larger cities, I wasn't pressed to arrive extremely early, so I got a chance to eat before my flight. My only gripe is seeing Creighton instead of Nebraska when driving out of Omaha. Hopefully they have more nonstop flights to/from the DMV soon!
google avatar

Andrea A.

Yelp
Eppley is great for a smaller airport. I wish they had more options for hot food and drinks beyond the security checkpoints. 99%of their food is before you go through TSA and you can't bring anything through. The food option they have near the gates is bland and basic. Aside from the food, the airport is clean and has a moderate amount of plug ins for charging your devices. The airport staff is friendly and helpful when needed.
google avatar

Jando S.

Yelp
As an airport, Eppley Airfield mirrors what Omaha is like as a city: big enough to be the go-to in the state (#1), but small enough for everyone outside of it. While it may not serve as a hub like other major metros, Eppley is a direct connection to most of the MidWest and even places as far as NYC and Miami. Even during the holidays, it's not overly crowded and parking / renting a car / and security lines are usually a breeze. The major airlines that fly here are the big 3 (American, United, Delta) with some other players like Southwest, Alaska, and Frontier. (#2) Food options aren't entirely scare, but they're all that good either. For example if the most popular spot happens to be Kracky McGee's (#3) or Hangar's Express, then it's not looking so good. Pack some food or try your hand at their food court which has KFC, Blimpie, and A&W. Amenities is not Eppley's strong suit. Lounges are non-existent, shopping is extremely limited, and the photo ops are really for those random "Passing Time in Omaha" clocks. At this point, we're lucky they even have TSA-Pre and ride shares. When in doubt, try not to get stranded here. (#4) _____________ (#1) And looking massive next to Lincoln: https://www.yelp.com/biz/lincoln-airport-lnk-lincoln (#2) Spirit Airlines is nowhere to be found. Thank goodness. (#3) Ah, good ol Kracky: https://www.yelp.com/biz/kracky-mcgees-omaha?hrid=5p8PEs5eEQ407x-rrmGIlA&utm_campaign=www_review_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct) (#4) Get a nearby hotel. Do it.

Scott B.

Yelp
Airport is great and easy to use. Food service in the terminal is awful. One option and they know they are so they don't care if you're there or not. Waited at cash register to pay while worker on his phone just sat back and ignored me. Eppley needs to do better if they want to be a modern airport then step it up.
google avatar

Valerie G.

Yelp
The airport is functional, easy to use, and very simple. The lines are never very long and security is a breeze. Flights usually leave on time, and if they are not on time, it is due to an earlier flight not arriving to Omaha on time. The scooters is open 24hours, which is nice if you have a late night or early morning flight. In my experience, bags arrive on time and parking/finding your ride is very easy. The hotel airport shuttles and vans, and all airport pickups happen right where the baggage claim is. There is a skywalk to a connected parking garage. If you park in the lots, there should often be shuttles coming around every 20 minutes or so all throughout the day. If you have an Uber, once you walk outside, turn right and walk to the bottom level of the parking garage. You should cross the street and there are signs for a ride pickup area in which your drivers car will likely be parked. Not much more to say about the airport, never had any issues here. The only downside is that it is a small airport and does not have many direct flights, or that many frequent flights either.
google avatar

Julie C.

Yelp
The Omaha airport is small, but surprisingly efficient. Check In at the United counter took less than five minutes. Easy to get through TSA security without long lines. Coming from a state with an international airport, there's a lot less headache here. They offer plenty of charging stations to charge your electronics for free, and refill your water bottles at the bottle filling station. Several food and drink options. Enough room to spread out and socially distance.
google avatar

Brian S.

Yelp
Great airport, quick and fast service. Easy to get in and out. Baggage claim is fast.
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
OMA is the epitome of an American airport that needs a facelift but does the job. No bells or whistles but it's easy to get in and out of the airport and I've never had an issue with TSA here. Just wish the food options were better here.
google avatar

Jason G.

Yelp
It's a small airport, very small, with limited flights and limited rental car options but at least it's fast in and out and not too crowded.
google avatar

Kate K.

Yelp
They have no golf carts to shuttle seniors from ticketing to gates which are far apart when you have carryons.
google avatar

Sheila U.

Yelp
For such a fast and growing city this airport is really abysmal. I do hope the renovations they are doing turn it into something better. There are limited concessions and food options before and after security. And what they do offer is pretty bad. The only reason I am giving it 2 stars is because it is easy to clear security.
google avatar

Kristi M.

Yelp
I don't know what it is about small town TSAs.... And yes, Omaha is a small town, comparably. It's like the TSAs put on extra large cowboy pants to prove themselves. Going through TSA at much bigger airports like LAX, SFO, ORD, JFK, BWI and others like them or near them really puts an airport like OMA on display for their inefficiency and rudeness to an intolerable level. There were 10 passengers in front of me and it still took 20 minutes to get through security. And yes, I clocked it because it was taking FOREVER. You would think that a city that considers itself to be at the crossroads of America wouldn't have such a small town airport, but it does. Then there's the fact that the restaurants and the bottled drink cases are on the outside of security so if you want to purchase that liquid that you can't take through security but would like to take with you on the plane - it won't be from any of the concessions you can get there. Food choices are slim once you go through security. They've had 20 years to redesign the security situation... what's the hold up?
google avatar

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Something special on the ground. Eppley Airfield is big enough to offer so many easy connections and small enough to navigate quickly and conveniently. There's lots of parking, right next to the terminal. The multi-story garage is undergoing some construction as of September 2021, which makes it a bit of a maze at the moment-but it'll be worth it, in the end. There's a sit-down restaurant, walk up restaurants and coffee on the the Delta/American side of the terminal, before you go through security. (I'm sure there are more on the other end-I just always fly Delta or American in and out of here) There's also a restaurant/bar and grab and go food after security. If your travels take you to Omaha or that region-this us a great gateway to it.
google avatar

Ashley S.

Yelp
This is a quaint little airport. I've flown in and out many times over several years. I appreciate that I usually don't need to get there 2 hours early. Even getting there an hour early I end up sitting at the gate for a solid 45-50 min. Not sad about that. They get the bags into bag claim very fast so you are in and out.
google avatar

Greg T.

Yelp
Fairly good smaller airport. No delays getting in or out. Precheck lane was practically empty. Decent amount of dining options. Only issue is the limited amount of work-style seating which made it difficult to use the computer while in the gate area.

Jdb T.

Yelp
This generally is a good airport. However, the walk you have to take to get picked up (there is construction) is awful. If it's raining, your bags will be full of mud. If you are elderly and have lots of bags, GOOD LUCK. There are very few pathways to get to loading/unloading area in parking garage. You end up walking a LONG way. It is a poor solution to a BIG PROBLEM. I can see if it was a 30-60 day temporary situation, but it's not. I have had to deal with this mess in Oct 2023, Feb 2024, Mar 2024, Apr 2024, & July 2024. I have had guests fly in from the east coast. They understood the situation, but thought it was very poorly planned with very little signage. I will not fly out of Omaha in September for my flight. It will be Des Moines or KC.
google avatar

Jason B.

Yelp
This is always an interesting port to fly into. It's never busy and the Uber pickup location is crazy easy to find. I never see any trash laying around like u always do @ airports so kudos to the staff for keeping it clean. I do wish they had more options for food however
google avatar

Dan S.

Yelp
With or without TSA Pre/Global Entry, it has taken me a max of 15 minutes to get through security across a dozen + flights (may vary for you). Everyone I have dealt with is nice and if you check bags, they come quickly. I haven't dined at the restaurants in the airport so can't comment on that. My compliant would be there aren't enough non stop flights and it isn't an international airport. Since I felt it unfair to deduct stars due to that, 5 stars!
google avatar

David T.

Yelp
We flew in here, and boy were our arms tired. Now we are leaving, we have a 2 hour flight delay and wish we had more to do here. There is only 1 restaurant inside the waiting area and only 3-4 outside the area. The airport is pretty clean and have a charging station at the seats where you sit. I wish there were more options for restaurants or some kind of entertainment besides my own cellphone.
google avatar

Parrish N.

Yelp
This one is for TSA employee Alcorn, I can't believe how rude you were to multiple people inline, there's no need to point at people and raise your vocals at them, it really doesn't make the situation of being busy easier. You were extremely rude to a older couple because in your eyes they didn't move fast enough and you raised your tone and told them to "hurry up" really this is the human you are.... Hopefully you'll find peace in your life and when you're older not moving as well as you do know someone will be a little more caring than you were today. As a parent myself I can truly say even if you had the absolute worst parents in the world they would of been disappointed In their son today. Sending positive vibes your way
google avatar

David T.

Yelp
C'mon Omaha, you can do this. This airport could and should be better. It feels like a bunker. It needs spaciousness, light, airiness. It needs options. On the positive side, security is fast and parking has recently been improved. But once you get inside it's a bit East Bloc. Omaha is too big, too nice, and too progressive a city to have an airport so stuck in forgotten times. Will you get through it quickly? Yes. And that's certainly a plus. But will you take away a nice first or last impression of Omaha? Sadly no. It's time to fix that, Omaha.
google avatar

Stefanie C.

Yelp
3.5 stars. Okayyyy Omaha!! I wasn't originally thrilled to come here for work (small town vibes) but I've been here twice and surprised by the experience. The airport itself looks a little outdated but for now big Omaha is, it's never very crowded. All the staff members I've ever encountered are nice, too. The rental car center seems newer than the actual airport. Spotty internet at times. Not many options for eateries, but the lines are short. Overall better than I expected, and no need to get here hours early!
google avatar

Elisabeth B.

Yelp
This is the smallest airport I have ever been to and thought it was amusing. At the same time it is clean, everybody is friendly, security is quick and you can buy snacks, coffee or alcoholic beverages once you are through security.
