Yelp
I want to join after a trial period. Here are my thoughts:
PROS:
(+) CLASSES
This is the biggest bang-for-your-buck, all-included, many options (15-25/day on weekdays, and 8-15/day on weekends), 40+ different types, knowledgeable instructors, it's easy to book classes via the online app. At other gyms, classes cost $15-40 each (thus, $3600-$9600 per year if paid per class at 5 days/wk for 48 weeks. Sooo, of all luxury gyms in Boston offering a variety of classes, this is actually the cheapest....Yes, I was shocked too once I realized that!)

(+) POOL
The 2nd biggest bang-for-your-buck, non-weight-bearing exercise perfect for those with prior leg/back injuries, it's underutilized so typically no wait to use it.
(+) BASKETBALL COURT & LEAGUE
The 3rd biggest bang-for-your-buck, all-included.
(+) CONVENIENCE
On my normal daily commute, (200ft from the Boylston train stop), thus less chance of falling off my workout regimen.
(+) LOCKER ROOMS
Includes a sauna, steam room, and many showers with razors, shaving cream, blow-dryers, combs, body-wash, shampoo, hair-gel, body lotion, mouthwash, deodorant, warm towels, and cold eucalyptus towels. (I would've posted pics if the old guys wouldn't get mad at me taking pics of their junk. lol)
(+) STEAM-PRESS
Removes clothing wrinkles in 15min while you're working out. Perfect before going to work or a social event after the gym.
(+) CAFE WITH WIFI
You can do work after a workout if the weather is too terrible to trek to a local coffeeshop.
(+) CLIENTELE
Most people seem to keep to themselves and just want a good workout. They have been friendly when I've looked lost and asked for help. Not pretentious at all, which is opposite of what I originally expected.
CONS:
(-) COST
~$2300/yr. A lot, but there are things I can cut back on (eg, dining-out, carsharing, lattes).
(-) LONG TERM COMMITMENT
A 12-month contract which can only be broken with proof of disability, job loss, or relocation. (Shorter options get a little ridiculous... ~$400 for one month OR ~$850 for 3 months! No thanks).
Overall, you have to evaluate your target goals/needs and if they would be best met by this gym's amenities. I've had failed attempts at consistently working out for the last several months which has been disheartening. Committing to significant dues will (hopefully) hold me accountable and help me reach my goals.
TL;DR : If you plan to attend classes and can afford the annual rate, this is the best luxury gym deal.
