Great location. I found this place to be convenient, quiet and clean. My room was large, quiet and clean. The breakfast was all you could eat and had a voluminus selection. I highly recommend this Hotel it literally a seven minaute walk from St Barts.

The history of this location goes years back. And that is what you can find in this hotel. You will be amazed by the antique. It has a special atmosphere. In my room the mattress could be replacd for a new one. It was EOL just like the bathroom. Breackfast was fine but should be better for this location. Take for example the coffee. Unfortunately it is not possible to get drinks in the evening and the restaurant was closed. For business purposes I would not advise this hotel. Parking was good arranged in a private parking.

Very nice hotel, in the ancient way :) People really gently, quiet and superbreakfast! Clean and comfortable. There is no elevator, only stairs. The bathroom needs to be improved, with a larger shower hose and the addition of curtains

Perfect location, just 3-min walk from the city center. It has an old-times vibe, even with it's room, furniture, all the antique stuff (clock and paintings) contributes to it. We really enjoyed our stay there, comfortable rooms, great breakfast and super sweet staff. However, if you are looking for a conventional hotel with 24/7 reception, open main doors, common lounge area, then it is not a place for you. But if you enjoy old-time vibe, especially this close to city center, then it's perfect.

Great old traditional hotel which is only about a four minute walk from the best parts of town. The room is huge and they clean it every day, which is becoming rare nowadays. Breakfast is great, with croissants, rolls, bread, cereal, juice, tea, coffee and custom made eggs (scrambled, etc,). Downsides are weak Internet at times and the fact the hotel is kind of old, but I found the staff and location to be fantastic. It’s not a modern hotel like back in the US, but an old, traditional hotel full of character and has great service.

As other have already stated this is a place where you step back in time. We found out this the hotel was originally a trader’s house and in it’s more recent history owned by an antiques dealer; hence the abundance of antique furniture and artifacts. We had I believe the largest room which was lovely. If you are looking for modern, this is not the place for you, if you are looking for a place that is interesting and with character, this is a place for you. A great central location to allow you to explore Ghent that is also quiet. We really enjoyed our stay here.

We wanted to stay somewhere 'traditional' for our two days in Ghent. The Erasmus Hotel certainly embodied much of what we were looking for. The house retains many of its original features and is full of antiques and paintings of interest. Prominent among these is an early printed text of work by the eponymous Dutch humanist. Peter, whom we understood to be the nephew of the owner, is a refined, intelligent and courteous host who is happy to explain the provenance of the house and all that is in it. The breakfasts are great!
