10 Best National Parks in Thailand

"Its seven-tiered falls and emerald ponds beckon visitors for a swim in the midst of its natural beauty. The park can get very busy, so for those seeking tranquility, James suggests Huai Mae Khamin Falls, an equally stunning location with fewer tourists situated just 28 miles north of Erawan Falls. The best visiting period is roughly December to January, after the rainy season and before the onset of the dry season." - Stacey Wreathall Stacey Wreathall Stacey Wreathall is a freelance writer and Thailand travel expert. 3 Best Day Trips From Bangkok

"Set near the Myanmar border and in the Kanchanaburi area, Erawan National Park is a five-hour drive from Bangkok, and a good short trip if you’re after some wildlife and verdant tree canopies. Its ecology is mostly made of limestone hills and cavernous formations, crystal-blue streams, and green valleys, plus animals like tigers, gibbons, elephants, and king cobras. The main attraction, however, are the emerald Erawan Falls, named after the three-headed elephant deity from Hindu mythology. Beyond that, the impressive cave of Tham Phra That is basically a speleologist’s dream. Getting in from Kanchanaburi takes around 90 minutes by bus, with the last ride back from the park at 4 p.m. The park gets packed and the buses will too, so it might be wisest to hire a private vehicle. If you've got time to linger, stay in one of the park bungalows or rent a tent and camp out." - Marianna Cerini

Beautiful national park with some of the prettiest waterfalls I have seen so far. Just make sure to arrive early in the morning if you want to enjoy this nature gem in all tranquility because the park gets overflown by toerist just after 9 that go swimming in the pools. Think it would really help maintaining this beautiful park by forbidding swimming in the pools.

Spectacular! I'd recommend getting there early if you want some falls to yourself. Arrive around 9 and managed to get to all falls alone or with one or two others there. You need a life jacket to swim in which you can rent at level 1 only. I found 2 to be the best to swim in, it's large and had plenty of room. The others are smaller. I'd recommend going to the top and see them all, then come back down and cool down in 2. Level 6 and 7 are a bit steeper of a walk and the track isn't as great but worth the look.

I saw pictures of these waterfalls online before visiting and thought they were edited photos, but this is truly how this place looks.. it's stunning. While we were there, we saw monkeys swinging in the trees but couldn't get a good photo. There are 7 waterfalls, but we only got as far as the 2nd one.. because we had spent all our time there, relaxing in the pool and getting our feet nibbled by fish, as well as taking pictures. The place wasn't crowded, a great place to visit.. entry fee was baht 300 per person. At the entrance, there is a gift shop, where you can get snacks and drinks. You can also hire a golf cart to drive you to the waterfalls if you don't fancy the short, easy, and enjoyable hike (cost baht 20 to, and baht 20 back to reception) Life jackets are available for hire too.

Nice place to visit. Got nice view and environment. The waterfall have 7 level. You have to tracking about 2km to get to the level 7. Erawan Waterfall, located in Erawan National Park in Kanchanaburi, Thailand, is truly a gem of natural beauty. This stunning seven-tiered waterfall is a breathtaking sight, offering a perfect blend of tranquility and adventure. Each level of the waterfall presents a unique landscape, with crystal-clear turquoise waters cascading over limestone rocks, creating an ethereal ambiance. The hike to each level is both invigorating and rewarding, with well-maintained trails that lead visitors through lush tropical forests, filled with diverse flora and fauna. The path to the lower levels is relatively easy, making it suitable for families and casual visitors, while reaching the higher tiers requires a bit more effort, offering a sense of accomplishment and an even more breathtaking view. The waters of Erawan are known for their remarkable clarity, making it ideal for a refreshing swim or just dipping your feet to cool off. The calm pools, surrounded by rocks and forest, are perfect for relaxation. The area also features plenty of shaded spots, so visitors can rest and take in the serene environment. The natural surroundings, combined with the cool mist from the waterfall, create a truly magical atmosphere. Erawan Waterfall is a must-visit for nature lovers, adventurers, and those seeking peace away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Its beauty, serenity, and the experience of being immersed in nature make it a highlight of any trip to Thailand.

The most beautiful waterfall I have ever seen with lagoons for you to swim in. 7 walkable levels together. We went there with elderly parents and they have a buggy service to the fist and second levels. Definitely recommend it. Easy ticket purchase at the entrance and plenty of parking if any drives. They do have cafes and snacks at the park.

2024-12-25 One of the most famous waterfalls in Thailand, 7 waterfalls in one place, you can swim and there is a life jacket rental for 20 baht, there is a toilet, smoking area, change clothes and a shower before the second and third levels, after that there is no toilet. I liked the second, third and seventh levels very much, the road to the levels is good but there are many stairs between the sixth and seventh, at the entrance there is parking and there are restaurants and toilets, the waterfall is worth a visit, Tickets for foreigners: 300 baht/person 30 baht/ car, 60 baht /others

Stayed on Vila in park area near Buddha temple. Walked up to cave. Cave personel weren't that great (waited 20 minutes for guide to finish watching some random YouTube video and then five more just to get his shoes on). Other than that very beautiful area. 😍
