On the Grid : Eric Owen Moss Buildings – Hayden Tract

"Celebrating design is a daily activity at Rapt, so we like to step back from what we're doing and admire the work of others. In the 1980's this area was half vacant and the Samitaur Smiths were purchasing everything they could. Eric Owen Moss, local architect and Director of Southern California Institute of Architecture, was called upon to help the Samitaur Smiths generate social change through architecture. It started with one building and now there are 30. These buildings are home to some of the most creative and innovative companies in Culver City. There are tons of maps to download that show you each building and where it's located. We highly suggest cruising around to witness this artistry in person. Be sure to take your camera." - Rapt Studio

A poorly designed complex. Form at the expense of function. Lousy parking. Bad pedestrian access through buildings and to garage. Insufficient parking. Garage does not open to street. Badly thought out from the USERS perspective.
