Compared to a hotel room/suite, this was a great value. Of course, you're not getting housekeeping (unless I believe you're staying for a longer duration). The location was OK - but this was my fault for not booking earlier to get a better, more touristy location. The utensils/cookware was kind of half-assed (no spatula, no knife, pan was unusable - it was non-stick but felt like a food magnet, etc). Of course dishes and basic utensils present. Wi-Fi was very spotty and not very fast (as opposed to previous hotels/apartments which were all great). The room doors and windows were very thin - all noises entered easily. This was our second apartment of our trip and the previous one was on a much busier street with noise being much less of an issue in the previous apartment. There were two showers, but one was completely unusable since it didn't have a shower door/curtain. It had a very small window/barrier which causes a flood. You could see all the water damage on the door/walls from all the previous instances where water just gushed out.

Well appointed apartments. Clean, comfortable and great facilities ( washer/ dryer, dishwasher). Air-conditioning works well. Beds comfy. The welcome bag of food was very welcome.

Overall we had a good stay at this location in Madrid. It's a good location to be able to get to many things in Madrid on foot. It is very noisy though so if you are noise sensitive like me, you'd better look at a different location. The garbage trucks start picking up the trash on the street every night at midnight and goes for what seems like ages, and is extremely noisy. Then you have the traffic, sirens, horns, noisy people on the street until at least 3 am every night. Sleep was very difficult here for us, which is no fault of this establishment, it's just a noisy city. Thankfully they have blackout curtains in the rooms so that you can hopefully sleep in a bit. We liked having a decent amount of space but found that we missed having the normal experience you get at a hotel of housekeeping missing. We stayed 6 nights and really wished we had a way to clean the floors, get fresh towels, etc. We liked that there is a door code to get into the building to keep things secure, but one evening a homeless lady somehow was let into the building and set up camp in the lobby and proceeded to smoke and make the area smell terrible and even relieved herself right there in the lobby. The staff took care of it as soon as it was brought to their attention and I felt badly for what they had to deal with. A note about check-in: Our check in experience at the Barcelona location was absolutely awful. The man who "helped" on the phone was incredibly rude to us. Thankfully checking in to Atocha there was a person there to help us check in who was very pleasant and got us our keys without issue. We saw many people checking in after hours struggling with the process and completely frustrated. So I know it wasn't just us. Please fix your after hours check in system.

This place is exceptionally clean. The apartments are immaculate and modern. However we had one major issue. We booked a 1 bedroom apartment. However it was in fact a studio with a Japanese style wall made of paper and wood with a sliding door. Therefore it was inaccurate to describe it as a 1 bedroom apartment and misleading. We purposefully booked a 1 bed apartment so that my sister and I would have space and wouldn't disturb eachothers sleep (one of us on the sofa bed)..but the divider provided no sound block at all. We were in effect in the same room. I raised the issue with the staff. Though they were very polite I did feel they didnt accept that calling it an 1 bedroom apartment rather than studio is misleading. However they promised us a move after 2 nights so our last 3 nights we were in a proper 1 bedroom apartment and it was perfect. I'd strongly recommend that on the booking options they label any of the rooms that have only a partition wall not an actual seperate room as a 'studio with a partitioned bedroom area'. This will avoid future issues for them and customers. It isn't fair to charge the same price for a proper 1 bedroom vs a room like that. I've given them a 3 simply because this issue caused us 2 bad nights sleep and alot of stress. However, other than that.. I would give it 4.5 stars. Staff super friendly and helpful and took action to remedy the issue. Super clean!!! And lovely decor. Kitchen well stocked. We got a lovely welcome bag because we booked direct with Eric Vokel which was such a lovely touch!! Good location (12/15 mins walk from prado museum). Plenty of restaurants within a 10 min walk. 3 supermarkets 1 minute away. One of which opens till midnight ! Close to things but on a side road which we found quiet and peaceful (though we we were on 6th floor). Minor issues like water pressure (it would come and go and would go cold so I think if someone else on 6th floor was showering it might be what caused this). With a few minor tweaks to their room descriptions and few tiny other things this could be an absolutely perfect place. Would definitely recommend but check out in advance what room you're getting.

I cannot say enough good things about Eric Vokel Atocha Suites. The staff are exceptional! I dealt with several different staff members and they all provided flawless service. I stayed in a one bedroom suite that came with a full size kitchen. There was a comfortable bed, roomy closets, a sofa, a TV with local and international channels, air conditioning, a washer/dryer, dishwasher, and black out shutters. A breakfast bag was included. I received ciabatta rolls, a chocolate chip muffin, and various condiments. In the fridge was milk, yogurt, and jamon. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from Atocha, yet you are away from the more touristy restaurants and shops. There is a small Supermarket Dia just down the street. The large Mercadona is just a few blocks south. The walls were solid. I didn't hear my neighbors at all. A few people here have complained about street noise at night, but Hey, you are in a city that is up all night. I slept with a noise machine and didn't wake up once. The only downside is that there is no reception after 5pm, which can be daunting for those with late check-ins. Eric Vokel may wish to consider having their reception close at 7pm or 8pm, which is still early for Madrid. Regardless, next time I am in Madrid, I would definitely stay here again.

The space was ultra clean, spacious, quiet, and the staff were very tentative and friendly. We were 5 people and booked a two apartment with 2 bathrooms for four nights. There were all amenities you can possibly need in the apartment. Small feedback would be to give us more toilet paper since we were 5 people and ran out by the 3rd day. If you’re looking to stay in a quiet area like Atocha, I would totally recommend it. But please do note that it’s not directly in the city center (which was no problem for us)
