Have been going to the Erie beach hotel for fish and chips since I was probably 2 years old ( I'm 38) it's the exact same quality, the perch is just amazing get rid of the rest of the menu and keep that it's all you need. The celery bread ugh, I could live on it if I could. Consistently good, what we need more of in this world

My Wife and I have been going here for at least 30 yrs. Our recent meal was very disappointing, it was 1:30 pm so after the lunch crowd I assume. We both always order the 5 oz perch dinner. Both meals where over cooked. The fish was dry to a point the tip of the fillet was not editable, the frys were over done as well. Our thoughts where they have served us basically leftovers and where refried to heat them up. We paid full price for a left over meal. Won't be back.

Late lunch. I had the beef soup. The best beef soup I’ve ever had and that includes my homemade. Beef chunks and lots of them in every spoonful. Imagine having been here for almost 45 years and today was my first beef soup from here. Tasty 👍

Nice motel in a great location near the beach and near restaurants and the Light house theater. We chose the king size room, which was large and had a great view. Clean sheets, nice bed. All you could ask for.

We stayed at Erie Beach Hotel for a weekend, and the general place / location is great. Our room, however, was not. It seemed to be a storage room converted to a bedroom. It was small, cramped, a queen and single squished into it. There was no comforter on the bed. Also, we could have used a blanket. The weather was beautiful that weekend, but the nights were cooler. For the price we were charged for the room, there could have at least been a coffee maker in the room for mornings.

Recently went there for a reception food and staff were wonderful and made the evening special with the table decorations and just allowing us to keep things low key. Best place to have any big event celebration. Highly recommend to everyone i know.

We, like many daytrippers just ate at the restaurant. It's locally famous for the fish and chips. The real show is the dining room. Step back to the mid century modern, in decor and menu. Try the Ambrosia Salad.

The fish and coleslaw was very good, but they need fresh fries. The prices are reasonable for the fish dinner. Service was great.

Yelp
It was clean. Location is good. Outdated and nothing fancy but it's a place to lay your head and walking distance to shops and beach.

Yelp
I wouldn't stay here again. Overpriced. Room had no amenities. No coffee pot, no fridge, no continental breakfast. I traveled Ontario by bicycle and all motels had those and cost less. The manager wouldn't allow my bike in the lobby or my room, no one else did this. He wouldn't let me walk across the lawn to store it. In the morning I was missing a small attachment for my travel wagon. It ruined my morning and next day of riding. This wouldn't have happened if I could have kept my bike in my room. The precious room was dated. Painted paneling. Clean but old.

Yelp
Busy bikers day in the Port. Went for a late lunch in the hotels Terrace Room . It was busy but hardly a wait in line. Had the 7oz perch dinner. About seven pieces of perch, fries and celery bread. They forgot to give me the celery bread until I asked for it and promptly brought me a piece. Everything was tasty enough but I found the fish a bit soft and soggy and lukewarm . I like the fish a bit more crispy and warm. The local cider was very good also. Kind of expensive though with perch dinner and cider with tip was just over $40.

Yelp
The food is all very good. Nothing spectacular but it has great flavor. We have had the battered mushrooms, chicken wings, clam strip basket, perch dinner, and the fish and chips. The thing that sets this place apart is it's wonderful pecan pie. It is seriously the best pie I have ever had. I'm not a big dessert person at all but this is the one sweet I can't turn down. I'd give it a 10/5 if I could. The service is pretty subpar. Mostly older ladies who are just there to socialize with their waitress friends. I once went an entire meal without my water being refilled. It literally sat on the table empty for a good twenty minutes.

Yelp
Friendly service, although they have the enclosed balcony closed on a VERY nice day. Seafood platters were delicious. Celery bread, cucumber salad, go nuts, you will enjoy. BUT... The garden salad lettuce was wilted and tasted gross, old and thawed out. They replaced it quickly and it was less depressing but still pretty sad vegetables. Weirdly, they serve the seafood and tartar sauce in tiny plastic cups. Environmentally ignorant and messy and inconvenient for the diners. Come on guys, dump that sauce in a bowl, really. I'm talking about the Terrace Room, not the fancy place downstairs.

Yelp
Usually pretty good but tonight the perch was really big and hard to believe it was Lake Erie perch because of the size. Lots of bones in the fish BIG TURN OFF.

Yelp
This is a pretty neat place - located in the heart of Port Dover just minutes from the beach. We've gone there a number of times for meals over the years as a ' destination ' day out .....especially for the perch - perch is synonymous with Port Dover ( apart from Friday the 13th of course ) As the other poster mentioned, the dining room at the hotel is amazing in terms of it's ' dated ' decor - it feels like you've stepped into a time warp dining in a room back in the late 50's or early 60's. The dining room relish tray and perch dinners are just outstanding and never disappoint. If you want to top off an enjoyable drive and a day at the beach - you can't go wrong with a perch meal at the Erie Beach Motel. Highly recommended. !

Yelp
Went again yesterday for lunch. It was terrific. This place is truly a time capsule. Opened in 1946 and still serving great locally caught fresh lake perch....and awesome celery bread. The salad carts are also a unique feature. Take the drive you won't be sorry.

Yelp
Fabulous perch, harvested locally, prepared superbly, with the one of a kind salad trolleys that have to be seen to be believed, but believe this: the celery bread is to die for, or at least drive 3 hours for!

Yelp
I really like coming here for dinner. They have great perch dinners, and I also like their chicken wings and celery bread. The highlight of my visits is their homemade pecan pie, it's incredible! Everyone that I brought here before really enjoyed the pie. You can't compare it other pecan pies out there, so I highly recommend.

Yelp
The Terrace Room at the Erie Beach Hotel is an excellent, relaxing restaurant with friendly staff, excellent food and great value. Try the perch snack or the hot beef sandwich. True comfort food. The Erie Beach supports Norfolk County farmers and butchers by sourcing the majority of their ingredients locally. Plus, the kids love the large aquarium with colourful tropical fish. It's a place where the locals hang out, so you know it's good. Owners and manager are always present, ensuring top-notch service.

Yelp
We've been going to the Erie Beach for perch for over 35 years. The perch and pickerel is the best you'll ever have. Celery bread is awesome too. It is quite expensive but this restaurant offers you a unique dining experience that you simply won't find anywhere else. That makes it worth a special trip to the Erie Beach a couple times a year.

Yelp
If you go there, you might want to stop and get a burger first. The counts were so small we went over to Willies after just to get something substantial. Atmosphere and tradition do not fill the stomach.

Yelp
I don't understand the hype. The food is average at best, and high priced. The interior is like a time warp to the 70s, and the waitresses have to wear what looks like nursing uniforms from the 50s. The salad cart that they bring to your table sort of grosses me out, because I'm sure they reuse what you don't eat (after its been unattended on your table). Yeah, I think I must be missing something....
