The Hotel Erika is a family run hotel in a good way, from the warmest of warm welcomes as you arrive to the day to day running, they are there. It's not a slick euro-chain operation, if you want that go somewhere else, it is different and better than that.
Location wise, it is well placed to wander into Kitzbuhel town centre, facilities are excellent with swimming pools, bikes, etc etc as detailed.
Food? Ah the food. That's rather good, we rarely take the half board option but did this time and would recommend it. The menu is properly crafted, and well executed. If you have been in Austria for a while and got rather tired of how the chefs tend to overuse the salt, be happy. The only problem with the food is how to fit it all in - expect to put on weight during your stay!
We stayed in summer and joined in one of the guided walks which were truly enjoyable, taking us to places we otherwise would not have seen.
We met several people who had stayed at the Erika before, it is very easy to see why anyone would want to come back.
