$36 for an unpowered site for 2 people (1 vehicle) - around standard pricing, however the sheer amount of flies and mosquitoes around the site made it impossible to do anything, and none of the lights worked in the shower/toilet block which meant we had to try and shower in the dark. Lots of mosquitoes in the toilets and showers also. Ended up setting up our tent immediately and taking shelter in it to avoid the insects, and leaving first thing in the morning. There are mosquito/fly headnets for sale in the shop for $10 a pop.
Diesel was an absolutely crazy price of $2.88/litre. No gas refills/exchanges available.
Pros: WiFi provided, reasonable speed. Campsite backs onto an enclosure with a friendly camel, emu and rooster which is cool to see. Water in showers was hot. There is a sunset viewing platform, however we didn’t get to it because the insects were unbearable.
Overall, it served a purpose as a stopover to break up the journey, but we wouldn’t be back in a hurry. If you can make the extra 2.5hr drive to Ayers Rock campsite (or similar, depending on where you’re going), would recommend doing so. Insects nowhere near as bad at our subsequent stop, with far better facilities.
