"We stayed at a gorgeous Marriott Bonvoy Homes & Villas property in Cartagena where the staff became like family, and I loved that the property offered a rare rooftop pool with views of the city and its iconic churches." - Paris Wilson

The experience was top notch. The employees were warm and welcoming all throughout my stay, even acknowledged my elite status as a Bonvoy Marriott member, there was a nice plate of truffle chocolates on my table when i checked in with a hand written note thanking me for choosing them. My room was cozy, clean and smelled fresh, all throughout my stay i noticed the employees were very happy and pleasant and professional. I loved the relaxing, eclectic look and appeal all throughout the property, the rooftop ambience ane music was perfect. I felt safe knowing that although I came alone, the hotel had security at every point, the employees were extremely attentive and courteous at all times and always helped quickly with any question I had. David especially was very thorough at assisting with my luggage, arrangemnts for transportation, etc. I highly recommend them. I stayed at a different hotel days prior and the overall experience for me personally because I felt the staff were more experienced. The restaurants were very nice and the food was great. Thanks for making this a memorable experience in Cartagena!!

Absolutely charming and fantastic boutique hotel just outside of the walled city. The food is phenomenal! The service is 5-star. The taxi or shuttle (which the hotel offers) is a quick and easy ride too! The room was large, clean and perfect, and the bed was extremely comfortable!! And the 90min on-perm massage was one of the best I have had in years!! We will definitely stay here again!!

This was a last minute booking for me and I am so happy that I chose this hotel. ||The hotel was in immaculate condition, very clean and beautiful. The staff was exceptionally nice and helpful with any issues I had. ||The rooftop was beautiful and overlooked the beach. There was a library for drinks and coffees and the dining area had a breakfast buffet that was included with my stay which was a great addition. ||David & Alvero were such a great help checking in and out! ||I wish I had more time to enjoy all of the amenities, I will definitely be back.

THIS PLACE IS AN ABSOLUTE GEM!! So close to the OLD ACITY. The hotel provides a shuttle service which is amazing (Mercedes Benz, may I add). They will take you to all of the nearby spots plus the airport(7:30 AM- 7:30 PM). If you take uber or Taxi to the old city, it’s two dollars. The food in Cartagena is so amazing so we never tried the hotel food until the last day. It blew us away. We ordered room service and it was the BEST food. Try the baklava!!! Omg! The doorman Jose Luis Navarro is so kind and welcoming with a bright energy. He ended up being our friend for 8 days. Always looked for him at the doors. Hotel is clean and housekeeping is top notch. For those of you coming from America the rooms are small. That’s the reality of any place outside of the U.S., rooms are adorable!!

We loved our stay at the ermita hotel. So much more quiet than hotels in the wall. The staff was as good or better than five star hotels we've stayed in. The service was excellent with so much attention to our own specific needs and cares like Ruben who helped us with our room, Jose Navarro at front door who always helped us with directions and navigation, Jose P who helped us lot with navigation. The servers always remembered our preferences, with a smile. I had nothing to worry about. One time we decided to go for a walk with our headphones on and all our jewelry and the front desk stopped us to tell us that it might not be a good idea to do that that we should take it off to not draw any attention to ourselves. But on our walk we had no issues with safety or feeling unsafe at all. But we were wise to keep ourselves on guard in case. ||ROOM we had a suite on the first level. And it was very spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. |SAFETY we were advised to not look too flashy but felt very safe in the day and was extra cautious at night. |LOCATION it's 5 to 10 minutes walking distance from the wall entrance, 20 to 35 minutes walking distance from Gethsemane, and directly across the street from public beach. It's three buildings down from a grocery store/market, and six buildings down from a 24-hour pharmacy. To me it's perfectly located just outside the wall and away from the noise.|HOTEL I love the Boho, Havana, Columbia style decor and serenity. The hotel is quaint and unassuming yet has the best service and care. A very good breakfast buffet is available. Lots of fruits and local dishes. |AIRPORT It is about 15 minutes or less to the airport without traffic. We left at 10am on a Wednesday to the airport and we're there before I finished this review.

I recently stayed here for my birthday, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. The staff went above and beyond—from the kind notes to the birthday cake, every detail made my stay feel special.||The property itself is well-maintained, but what truly sets it apart is the team. The pool bar staff were extremely helpful, and I want to give special recognition to Zeus and Alvaro, who were exceptionally welcoming and attentive from check-in to check-out.||I stay at Marriott properties often around the world, and this has to be among the top five in terms of professionalism and exceptional customer service. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for both comfort and genuine hospitality.

The good: Very nice rooms. Clean. All of the staff are helpful and pleasant. They give you all the bottled water you want...and if you're from a more temperate climate, you are going to need it! My husband and I were dehydrated all the time! The hotel buffet breakfast is very good...though the omelet station is only open on weekdays. The hotel also has a shuttle to take you to different parts of the walled city/Getsemani or to the airport? Only problem? You should try to book it as soon as you know your plans. Otherwise, it's gone and you have to take a taxi or an Uber. Which is still a cheap and easy way to get around. |The just ok: The hotel fancy restaurant isn't great. And service is very slow. Definitely running on island time. |The hotel also faces a beach. It's an ok beach. Hey, it's free. But you do have to cross a double highway. Which is pretty easy unless it's evening traffic. In the morning, no problem at all. |The rooftop pool is pretty but you're not going to get any exercise in it. It's small and more for lounging around. And the gym is passable but not great.|The bad: The area isn't sketchy but it isn't beautiful. I mean, if you are nervous here, you're going to be nervous in all but the resort areas of Cartagena. It's just not a city for you. You'll have a 5-minute walk to the Walled City but I wouldn't do it at night. It's also a 3 minute walk to a huge grocery store in the same direction.|We were here slightly after Independence Day and I thought the festivities would be over. Wrong. The parade blocked off the front of our hotel for roughly 10 hours. (We were out in the morning and snuck in through the back entrance but were just lucky that a security guard saw us and let us in.) It is CHAOS during the parade. People are spraying foam or throwing flour at everyone, and it's the perfect time for a pickpocket to get your phone or wallet. Our room looked directly at the parade so we had a huge window to watch...but it got old after 5 hours! Then we couldn't go out after the parade was over because the crowd was hyped up (and some were drunk) and the streets were disgusting between broken beer bottles and foam. It was sludge that ruined your clothes and shoes. So we were stuck in our hotel from roughly 2 pm on. |The good news? The streets department was amazing. 6 AM the next day, the highway and streets looked clean again!

Went to Ermita for the convenience of being close to the airport and still enjoy Cartagena. Hotel staff was attentive and accommodating to our needs. Our ocean view in front of the hotel was very basic and the main road was a stones throw away from our window which made the noise level less than desirable. Simple breakfast, simple dinner. The Wall City was close and so was the LETRAS DE CARTEGENA. There was a wedding reception in the hotel and we were informed and still had access to the rooftop bar and pool but was a little awkward to walk around people in formal attire while we were in swim wear.
