I got food poisoning — beware. If fish in the Alps sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Our room greeted us with half-empty drinks left by previous guests and a flickering broken lamp. Dinner started well (the lamb and duck were excellent, the ice cream very good), but the cheese display looked unappealing at best a health risk at worst (see photos), and the soups were disgusting (more like dishwater than food-see photo). Breakfast was much better, with a wide variety and plenty to enjoy.
The spa and pool, however, were absolutely beautiful, relaxing, clean, and a real highlight of the stay. Staff ranged from very good to just okay, making the service inconsistent.
Unfortunately, despite the wonderful spa experience, I still ended up with food poisoning and spent the next day sick at Geneva airport.
