7 great ways to experience the Australian coast from Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula - SilverKris

"A dramatic waterfall set within dense coastal bushland near Lorne, one of several nearby cascades (about ten within a 10 km radius), offering a scenic nature stop for visitors exploring the Great Ocean Road region." - Margaret Ambrose

We visited the waterfall in mid-April. Parking is limited, and you might need to park a bit further from the entrance. To reach the waterfall, you have to walk down a short path—around 150 meters. The nature along the way is truly beautiful and refreshing. Once you reach the bottom, you’re greeted with a stunning waterfall. If the water level is low, you can even get quite close to it. A peaceful spot worth the short walk!

10/10 recommend visiting Erskine Falls. Although there are a few steps to see the falls, it is a relatively short distance. For perspective my 3 year old handled it just fine and it was a wet cold day. The falls were flowing well when we visited in July. We visited on a Friday afternoon and there was maybe 3 other cars in the car park. Summer would be much busier no doubt!

This was a really nice walk, there is limited parking. Is really steep in some parts and lots of stairs. Sadly it didn't rain enough before the trek down otherwise there would have been alot more water flowing down the waterfall. Otherwise it was a beautiful spot

I went at the end of March. not a lot of water but enough to get the effect of it. Sign says 150 mts, but what it didn’t say was that it’s all steps (170 of them). I have COPD. going down was easy, coming up much harder but there are a lot of resting places (i did about 10 steps at a time). If you’re fit & healthy it would be easy. Would definitely come back here. It was beautiful. Viewing platform is large & spacious

We had a fantastic mid-week trip to Erskine falls. A pleasant drive from Lorne, there is a big, sealed car park. There is an "upper" viewing area, level with the top of the falls, quite close to the car park. There is also a "lower" viewing area, at the bottom of the falls, which is quite a lot of steps. There are a few rest areas on the way down, with bench seats off to the side. At the bottom, there is a big viewing area. You can also walk on a bare, uneven bit of track, to access the creek. Overall, it's well worth the trip if you can spare the time

Gorgeous and reinvigorating waterfall in Lorne, VIC, Australia. Erskine Falls is part of the Great Otway National Park, along Great Ocean Road. Was there January 3, 2025. It’s a rather easy hike down to the bottom of the falls, but somewhat challenging to go back up if you’re over 60 and/or a bit out of shape (like me!). But there are stairs and handrails the entire way as well as a few well-placed benches to catch your breath. Plenty of good free parking at the top, too.

It’s one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Victoria, thanks in part due to its location in preserved rainforest. There is an easily accessible platform at the top, while the platform at the bottom requires some steps, but is still not too strenuous to reach. If you like (and have insurance), you can also climb over some rocks to get closer.

Lovely waterfall. Walk down was easy enough, back up harder!! Lots of steps. There is a lookout not far from the carpark, but if you want to keep going, you can continue down the steps to the base of the waterfall where you can also rock jump to the other side and walk along the river path. No phone service down here! Beautiful falls

Yelp
My colleagues and I were on our way to Lorne when we accidentally set the GPS to avoid highways. It was a bit of a journey, but we were so glad we made this mistake. We stumbled across signs for this beautiful waterfall and decided to stop by. The parking lot was a decent size and we were able to easily and quickly get a spot. The walkway has a view point right at the top and the walk down in 5 minutes or so of stairs. The view is gorgeous!! Walking back up was a bit of a challenge for someone out of shape like me, but there were areas to rest. It wasn't far at all, I'm just not good with stairs. Definitely worth a stop by!
