Why You Should Visit Germany’s Ore Mountains - AFAR
"A vast collection-focused museum often likened to a life-size toy box, holding more than 25,000 pieces with around 5,000 typically on display, which presents the region’s long tradition of wooden toy and Christmas artifact carving in rich historical and visual detail." - AFAR
Nice museum. Lots of woodwork. Text is only in german. Kids area to play on the 2nd floor. Parking place 2 euro per hour.

This museum a childhood dream that comes alive. The wooden toys are beautifully carved, there are three floors of toys and the whole place is full of old school childhood magic
The only thing that is a bit lacking are explanations in english or other languages that are not German but even without these this place is awsome

A must to feel the heart of Saxony! Children liked it either.

If you want to see the history of Nutcrackers, candle arches, (incense) smoking man figurines, and Christmas pyramids from the Ore Mountains (Erzgebirge), that’s the place to go; especially during Christmas time.
