Wild and Bohemian, Formentera Is a Laidback Alternative to Ibiza

"Housed in a converted windmill on lovely Platja de Ses Illetes, this seafood institution is famed for its lobster. It has timber ceilings and white tablecloths, a generous covered stone terrace, and a loungy sundeck."

It’s probably hard to find a dinner spot in Formentera with a more beautiful view. The location is simply magical, overlooking one of the island’s most stunning beaches. Service was excellent, the atmosphere had a really good vibe, and the crowd was lovely. Prices are definitely on the higher side, but with such a setting it feels worth it. We had the seafood paella – it wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, but it also wasn’t bad. Overall, the experience was all about the atmosphere and the views… and those views are truly unforgettable. Absolutely worth it. 🌅✨

Es Molí in Formentera never disappoints. The service is amazing, and the place has earned a great reputation over the years. It’s always a pleasure to come back — the atmosphere is welcoming and the food consistently fresh and delicious. We recently visited again and were impressed by the quality of service and attention we received, even though we weren’t a big table — we were treated like we were. Highly recommended: don’t leave without trying the ice cream, and definitely order the paella — it’s outstanding!

We arrived in a boat, pickup service from the restaurant was very fast. We ordered the grilled prawns and scallops as appetizers followed by 2 paellas for the table to be shared. We were 5 and it was plenty for all with some left. The ice cream dessert was the most pleasant surprise. The views are amazing, the location is unbeatable and the service is excellent. High recommended the squid ink paella, very unique and cooked to perfection

An overrated classic. They do have the best views in Ses Illetes, that’s undeniable, but it’s quite overpriced too. Clients will come and go to their yachts right from the restaurant so if you are going by boat it comes in quite handy, but food-wise there are far better options on the island.

I recently visited this restaurant for lunch with two friends while in Formentera. Given its reputation, we were eager to see what it had to offer. The location is beautiful, with a cozy atmosphere and stunning views. The service was excellent—attentive and professional. The food was good, but not particularly memorable. What left me puzzled, however, was the price. This place is extremely expensive, and I struggle to see why. There was nothing about the food, service, or setting that seemed to justify the steep prices. To be clear, we were aware of the costs before we came, so I'm not complaining about that. However, I base my reviews heavily on the value for money, and in this case, the quality-price ratio just doesn’t add up. For that reason, I can't give this place more than 3 stars.

My experience was awful. The quality doesn't match the restaurant's reputation. Worse than a shabby beach bar. It's forgettable... on top of that, it was half-empty... a sign of the quality... in decline..."

Google
The restaurant has a gorgeous view and the design is close to the nature. The glasses and the white table clothes are spotless, giving the sense of luxury on the wild beach but that's all. I was with limited time and both a tuna sandwich and coffee. They didn't let me to sit at the table because" the sandwich is only take away ".It was not a busy time and no more than 5 clients in the restaurant. Wouldn't go again to this place. Very disappointing...

Yelp
This location has a beautiful view and an upscale feeling. The restaurant staff were very sweet and accommodated my party even though we arrived a few minutes after the kitchen had closed. Great place to observe the sunset and enjoy some wine. The food was fantastic. The white wine cooked clams were my favorite.

Yelp
Really, the people working there are so rude they made our lunch uncomfortable. They seemed to be bothered by our asking for anything. It's the type of place that thinks snobbism sets them at a higher standard. There's another restaurant nearby with great food, friendlier service and shares the same sunset view: "Juan y Andrea".

Yelp
I come to this restaurant every year and the food is fantastic, but this year I have been amazed (in a totally wrong way). The food was amazing but scarce. They charged us 39 euros in bread (3 euros per little piece of bread... Who actually counts each piece of bread they put in a basket!?), 45 euros per jar of sangria and 8 euros for regular glasses of wine. Our calculation is that their prices have been raised at least 40% since last year. Total rip-off. Really.

Yelp
Loved this place. Incredible views. Open and airy. Very romantic setting. Many locals. You can only get to this restaurant from Ibiza with a boat, so you either have to charter one or come with your own. Prices were definitely up there, but the food, location, and ambience were definitely worth the price.
