Incredibly disappointing experience, belongings disappeared while the table was being cleared.
We had a birthday dinner at Epicurien, which is located inside the Es Saadi Gardens & Resort.
We had a birthday dinner at Epicurien, and during the meal everything seemed fine, until the end, when things took a very unexpected turn.
When the bill arrived, we noticed they had added extra bottles of wine and drinks that we never ordered. We pointed it out, and instead of apologising, they removed the items with clear attitude, no apology, just irritation for being caught. It already gave us a bad feeling, like something was off.
After finishing dinner, we went downstairs to the garden for literally two minutes to take a photo.
In that time, while the staff were clearing our table, all our belongings disappeared. When we came back, the table had just been cleared, and the staff's reaction was shockingly unhelpful, defensive and dismissive.
We immediately spoke with several members of staff that same night, including the reception inside the restaurant and the one outside the casino, asking to speak with a manager. We were told they were "too busy" and asked to come back the next day, which we did. The next day they said it was all our fault for not speaking with a manager on the day, and they wouldn't help us or allow us to put a claim.
We left our phone number with the manager and also sent several emails afterwards, none of which were ever answered.
To be clear, we never accused anyone personally. We just asked for help to find our belongings. Instead of helping, the staff became defensive and tried to turn it around on us.
Our table was in a corner, away from other guests, and what went missing was not something a guest could just hide in a pocket or a small bag. The circumstances speak for themselves.
Please check your bill carefully if you go there, and if you find things that were added by "mistake", make sure you also keep an eye on your belongings afterwards, because if they don't manage to overcharge you on paper, they might find another way to make up for it.
Overall, this was an extremely disappointing and untrustworthy experience. It’s hard to believe this can happen inside a hotel like Es Saadi Gardens & Resort, but unfortunately it did. Be very careful.
