Esaias Solberg, a historic Oslo gem, dazzles with vintage jewels, creative seasonal dishes, and a stellar natural wine selection in a cozy, stylish setting.
"All That Glitters... Esaias Solberg was established in 1849, and has remained a popular shop ever since. Dealing mostly with vintage and antique, customers can buy everything from diamonds necklaces and silver objects to Rolex watches. Esaias Solberg also promises to be cheaper (up to 50%) than any other high street jewelers, because they make many pieces themselves, as well as re-designing the used pieces they buy. Located in the city centre, make sure you stop by Esaias Solberg if you want to look at glittery things!"
Everything was good and better!
The staff had knowledge, showed us the way to experience the pairing of food and wine to the fullest.
Overall we had 3 courses to share plus dessert with wine recommendations by the glass from white, red to orange wine.
We'll return for the cauliflower courses and the vegan dessert!

Our visit to Esaias was great! We came there on a late Saturday afternoon and had some wine and a few small courses. The wines are on the pricier side (most are north of 1000NOK per bottle) but they absolutely delivered! We had the beef tartar and the forest mushrooms with egg. The beef tartar is to die for! Order it and thank me later! The mushrooms where ok but nothing more, would probably try something different next time. Overall, a solid experience!

Perfect for late lunch after a visit to the History Museum. Reindeer pie (with lingonberries!) and fish soup were delicious.

One of my favorite restaurants in Oslo. I highly recommend to order the five course menu with wine pairing. They serve creative dishes with ingredients that are in season. Their wines are also all natural and so good!

This place was absolutely incredible - a perfect stop to end a day exploring Oslo. Very cozy with a nice outdoor patio where blankets are provided on a chilly evening. The bartender was very friendly and let me sample a few wines before choosing. Highly recommend adding this as a stop to your Oslo itinerary!

Nice wine and setting both inside and out. I think I’d like to come back to test the food.

Used to be really good, but have become one of the worst places in oslo. The wine competences are completely absent, we were charged for the wrong items and the manager was full of rude attitude. Should not be working with people. Tossed our refund on the table in anger.

Great wine bar and restaurant in a lovely square of the main road.
Sat outside and had almost everything on the tapas style menu and it was all delicious.
Great wine list and lovely staff. Worth a visit.
