Excellent spot for food, dessert, coffee and camping gear. The pizza is delicious, the lemon cake is one of the best I’ve ever tasted. Service is very friendly and quick. There is live music, outdoor seating and the attached camping gear store is a treasure trove of well priced items. We also got coffee the next morning. Great spot in a small town.

Wow. That was the first word that came to mind when we took a bite of our pepperoni pizza. My wife and I discussed at length whether this was the best pizza we have ever had. I mean, we discussed it for a minimum of 15 minutes. We were on our way from Zion to Bryce. Spoke with a friend of ours back in Houston that is a camping/traveling expert - and he said to take scenic Rt. 12. We got hungry as we were driving through Escalante in the van. And there was Escalante Outfitters. Actually, we passed it, and were a mile down the road when we pulled over to see if there were any decent rated places to eat near us. Then we drove back to Escalante Outfitters. We think the name is misleading - it should read Escalante Best Pizza Ever. Everything about it is terrific - the crust, the sauce, the pepperoni. If you are within 50 miles of this place, stop by for a pie. One of the highlights of many highlights on our 3 week road trip from The Woodlands, TX.

We stopped in for dinner here on a nice summer night. The food and atmosphere here are both amazing. I had the sunset flat veggie and it had so much flavor while also being a light meal. I had sat in their outside patio area which is a really nice view during the sunset. The staff are very friendly and patient.

The hype is real! It's no mystery that Escalante Outfitters is known for its pizza. It's constantly featured on several Travel-Guru Youtuber's channels. I heavily relied on YouTube content to plan an epic road trip & I made sure this place was a dinner stop....and it did not disappoint. The pizza is uniquely named after several natural attractions nearby like the Devils Garden & Kings Mesa. They also offer a gluten-free pizza option which was a very pleasant surprise. My wife & mother in law both are gluten intolerant, so the gluten free option was a nice touch. Don't sleep on the salads either. My wife & both elder mom's ordered salads that looked so good, my 11 year old daughter suddenly became hungry & I had to order her one too. They even gave us a water carafe for our puppy, Max. They allowed our puppy in the outside seating area & had water bowl for the dogs. WE are already planning our next road trip to Utah & I think a couple of nights in their cabins will be fun. They earned a loyal advocate out of us.

I came here with my family today after a day on Lake Powell. The staff were the friendliest, kindest, and most helpful people we have met in a while. The pizza we had was amazing, and the waiters and waitresses were very attentive and talkative. The shop they had here was also very well laid out and had such a variety of things to choose from. The lady at the counter was super helpful and an absolute pleasure to talk to. I would highly reccomend if you are aver coming through Escalante. Ten out of ten experience here!!

Google
Great first time visit. We had the Anchovy and bacon (and other items) 10” pizza and the Apple arugula w caramelized walnuts salad… both items were delicious!!! The service by Adrian and Kim was very nice and pleasant. We appreciated their hospitality. And, the ambiance was nice and relaxing. Thank you for a nice lunch!!

Google
Escalante Outfitters is the place to eat when you are staying in Escalante. Even though they have a limited menu, the food was terrific. Their pizza is probably one of the best pizzas I have eaten. All of the toppings had such good flavors and were very bold. The price that we paid was well worth the food that we ate. Anytime you are in Escalante, definitely stop by and have a meal there.

Google
The cafe here is truly a treat. This place was recommended at the Kolob Canyon Visitor Center and that person knew what they were talking about. The cakes and pastries all looked good, but the cakes were specifically mentioned by the person with whom we spoke. The Lemon Blueberry cake looked unusual and we love that combination. So we got a piece to split and were so very happy we did. If you have a chance in your travels up and down UT 12 to make a stop, it's worth having some cake, even if you save it for later (as we did...their cafe hours are a little limited).

Yelp
Laid back restaurant attached to an outfitters, which also sells art and runs some cabins too. The BLT was fantastic. I liked the salad option for the side and it was a very fancy little salad. The Devils Garden pizza must've been good too as no slice was left behind. Cute place and nice workers. Sells local beers too.

Yelp
As we made our way through Scenic Byway 12 we decided to spend the night in Escalante. After checking in, we drove around looking for a place to eat. Our options were limited to the Pub or Escalante Outfitters. We chose the latter as we were happy to find a place that sold pizza, my son's favorite food. After ordering our pizza we were quoted a wait time of 45mins. We decided to order preselected pizzas, Chop Rock and Big Horn. Both pizzas were good and it was apparent that they used fresh ingredients. We like the Chop Rock better as the crust was more crispy. The Big Horn is a great pizza for meat lovers but it's very oily. Overall the staff was okay not overly friendly but not rude, the pizza was priced similar to what we pay back home, and the wait time was a bit long but expected for a small town.

Yelp
Kim the waitress was very rude The establishment clearly says dog friendly and there was MULTIPLE DOGS there - they have a sign that says please order at the counter - I being a solo traveler went inside to order with my dog and Kim comes and says there's no dogs aloud in here - I said how am I suppose to order she then said I guess nvm- I proceed to wait in line and order and as I'm waiting for my food she says I need to leave and wait outside for my food - while there are multiple dogs with there families eating and dining She says "it's the law" I feel Kim was probably having a bad day no need to be rude to me a customer waiting for her food and unfairly exclude and harass me If you establishment says dog friendly and you want customers to order at the counter then maybe a little more customer courtesy and patience

Yelp
Great service. Fran is awesome. Some of the best pizza I've ever had. The sourdough crust is perfect. And the salads are huge and delicious. Who knew in a little tiny town you could find a great pizza.

Yelp
Wow it's really that good. I asked the owner what was their meat forward pizza - he steered me instead to the chop rock saying it was their best. It was awesome! Two of us split the smaller pizza and only ate half of it after the ridiculous good arugula salad. It was stunning on its own. Cute place friendly people.

Yelp
An outfitter store that serves sourdough pizza? This might be the epicenter of Escalante. We ate here two nights in a row because the food, service, and atmosphere were such a pleasant surprise. If you're a beer lover, Escalante Outfitters is your place. On both nights, we sat amongst a gaggle of Germans visiting the area who literally said the beer "tasted like home." My best advice for you would be to save room for cake! The carrot was our favorite, but the lemon blueberry was a close second.

Yelp
What a cool spot to eat. The Pizza and salad were outstanding. We shared the Apple Pecan Arugula Salad and it was AMAZING I mean soooo good everything the Arugula, mixed greens, candied pecans, apples, red onion, and dried cranberries tossed in poppy seed vinaigrette. I was not expecting such a good salad. Then came the pizza and my goodness the crust was a sourdough that was chewy and crunchy and slightly charred it was perfect. I did not get a picture since I ate it so fast just know its perfect! If you are in the area eat here!

Yelp
It's rare I'll give a pizza place 5 stars, but it's harder than people think to find a good pizza. The pepperoni, sausage, mushroom and jalapeno pizza was outstanding. Crust was crispy and toppings were excellent. Thinner/smaller pepperonis would be the only thing I change so that it crisps up more when cooking. If they were open the next day, we probably would have went back and ordered another.

Yelp
Early March is a tough time to travel in southern Utah. We luckily arrived on the day they opened for the season. We had salad, pizza & a sandwich. Homemade pizza dough as well as sandwich roll. So crunchy! We had hiked all day & were hungry. Delighted to be able to get dinner @ 4pm. Highly recommend. Coop was wonderful. He even texted a friend to help us find breakfast tomorrow.

Yelp
Hands down, without a doubt, the BEST pizza I have ever had, in my entire life. I mean, we changed our route home to SLC so we could come back the next day and have lunch, and got another one to go. The crust is crisp, not floppy at all. The toppings are just so good, I wish I could remember the ones we got but my goodness, we had like 4 different kinds and they were all fantastic. I'm not kidding at all when I say it was the best pizza I ever had. The only thing my wife and I could talk about while we were eating, is how good it is, and we should work in the kitchen for 2 weeks, learn the dough recipe, then peace out so we can eat this at home. Come here. You won't be disappointed.

Chaz C.

Yelp
Are you serious? Pizza THIS GOOD is not easy to find anywhere. I went with the Big Horn. Essentially a Muffuletta(ish) pizza. I absolutely devoured the entire pie to myself, no guilt. CRISPY crust. The rest of the menu looks very promising, the ingredients they use are fun and indulgent. I also got a slice of carrot cake (wow) and some fresh sourdough bread. Can't wait to go back....

Yelp
This hands down has been top 3 pizzas I've ever had! The crust that most throw away was the best part! It was crispy and seasoned to perfection. The sauce was delicious! With some good chunks of tomatoes. We had a pepperoni, mushroom and sausage pizza. The sausage is not a traditional pizza sausage that you would get at like Pizza Hut. It was thick slices of flavorful sausage with a little spice. The house salad was huge with tomatoes, pickled red onions, cucumber and roasted red peppers. That was also delicious and a good balance with the pizza. We finished with a homemade cinnamon bun that was so yummy!!! This is a small town but if you're here visiting or driving through- do not sleep on this place!! The service was great. Everyone was so nice. There's a small area to eat inside but on beautiful days you have to eat in their patio!

Yelp
Everything about this place is amazing! I stayed for one night and wish I could have stayed longer. The cabin was absolutely adorable, super clean and the bed was so comfortable I slept like a log. Everyone working there was beyond friendly and full of smiles. The pizza was fantastic (as all the other reviews will tell you) and the store is CHOCK FULL of cool things like hiking and camping gear, clothes, sandals (Chacos!), backpacks, Garmin satellite communicators, any kind of Hydroflask you could want, first aid, toiletries, books, and even beautiful original paintings for sale. This place is truly a gem and I hope I get to come back!

Yelp
Great pizza place. They have indoor and outdoor seatings. Dogs are welcomed to their outdoor space. Pizza was very good. However because they are one of the few restaurants in town and one of two that opens latest, it can take 45-60 mins for your food to be ready.

Yelp
Great customer service! Friendly, accommodating. Delicious food & coffee. Best selection for shopping, also supporting local artists. Will come again for sure!

Yelp
Great place to enjoy some brick oven pizza and a tasty cold brew. My friend and I stayed a quick night here in this cute little town. Not many choices of places to eat but this place grabbed our attention as we drove by. We were staying just down the road so we dropped off our gear and walked on over. This outfitter has everything you need to get your adventure on plus a great place to eat. I perused the store quickly and there were lots of gear like hiking sandals, pants, shirts, sunblock, trail shoes, stickers etc. They even have a small sale section. In addition they rent rustic cabins and have available tent sites at their campground. We decided to share a pepperoni pizza and I enjoyed a cold one. The pizza was pretty tasty. Love a pizza made in a brick oven. The edges had a nice singe and the pepperoni had a nice kick in flavor. We came back the next morning on our way out and grabbed a coffee and a delicious, homemade berry mini cake. Wow! So fresh and warm out of the oven. I did order a matcha latté but unfortunately it turned out pretty bad. The friendly staff did not charge me which I appreciated. Great place, great service, great people!

Yelp
It was so good, I ate the whole pizza! What the heck are they putting in that pizza dough?!
google avatar

Anthony K.

Yelp
Small resturant attached to outdoor equipment/clothing store. Not bad priced for the portions you get. Pizza's are tasty and salads are large. Sourdough crust is something different and delicious. There is out and indoor seating. The store inside has just about what every you may need to adventure on the local trails.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is a Bomb. In the middle of nowhere. Some Really Really Great pizzas. The salads are very fresh. Kui the young lady behind the counter n working everywhere is the best and very friendly. I would Highly Recommend this place. Stop by you won't regret it.
google avatar

Lou P.

Yelp
If you are hungry, especially for pizza, this place is for you! The pizza is prepared with a sourdough crust, which was perfect. The staff here is hardworking and has a great attitude, they are clearly accustomed to dealing with tourists. This place is always busy yet you'll be greeted with a smile.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was delicious and so was the beer; very quiet atmosphere. I had the Big Horn with prosciutto and goat cheese along with some Utah based IPAs and a house salad - all of which I was basically licking the plate clean. If I ever pass through here again, I'll definitely be stopping by!

Yelp
10/10 on everything Food Decor People Just superb. We had blt / it was epic Strolling in, we perused the store. My wife, Sharyl, said what a cute store. Being tall, Tony bumped his head on some of the ceiling decor. Head to your right to the mythical kitchen and place your order. Hey they have desserts too! Even the drinks were good. The bathrooms were spotless. Even if your name's not Dante Shoutblisters, please stop at Escalante Outfitters!

Yelp
The line was so long Saturday night that I went elsewhere. But came back Sunday for an early dinner of Neon pizza and on-tap Heffiweisen. Kitchen was a little slow, but the beer came out quickly, so I'm more than happy. Pizza was delicious and surprisingly I don't feel bloated or overstuffed. The Outfitters side helped me understand what outdoor activities were unavailable during the time I'm here, and how to execute ( Karen was so helpful and nice!). This is a must-stop if you're in Escalante!
google avatar

Steve H.

Yelp
Had a delicious pizza and cold beer on a hot day. Had no other plans, so I grabbed a book from their little free library and hunkered down inside for another several hours to stay out of the heat. Added a monstrous slice of delicious lemon berry cake and an iced latte later on so as not to feel completely like I was freeloading!

Yelp
A really nice recommendation from the folks at the front desk of our accommodations in Escalante. Escalante Outfitters boasts an extensive menu of pizzas and toppings with an impressive lineup of tantalizing salads. Their beer selection was pretty large, considering the location, with a nice array of Utah microbrews! They've got a lovely outdoor patio with lots of tables. We not only got to enjoy our food, but also a beautiful panorama of the desert vista, including an unexpected rainbow after an evening storm! Prices are very reasonable---we paid roughly $16 for a 16-inch pizza that fed us for two full meals. Beer, coffee and dessert was also reasonably priced. Enjoy a hearty meal with friendly, hometown service at this Escalante gem! The attached outdoor recreation shop is also worth a stop, in case you've forgotten any gear for your outdoor adventures.
google avatar

Erica E.

Yelp
The apple pecan arugula salad is hands down the best salad I have ever had. I was in town for two weeks and got this three times and it still wasn't enough. Of course the pizza was also delicious and the cake slices were out of this world. Such a fun spot with a cute shop to look through if you're waiting for carry out!
google avatar

Toan N.

Yelp
We waited an hour for 2 pizzas. The staff never came out to update or explain why it was taking to long. They never apologized, they never came back to check on us after they finally dropped off the pizzas.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a unique gem in Escalante. It is a combo restaurant, outdoor clothing and gear outfitter and a state liquor store. Service is friendly, fast and our pizza was superb. It has a fun and funky vibe and great atmosphere.
google avatar

Trish R.

Yelp
OMG. Amazing pizza and cakes. We ordered a large meat lovers with mushrooms and took home carrot cake and lemon blueberry cake. So yummy. Visited there 3 times during our stay in Cannonville. Hint: call in your order 20 minutes before you arrive. Our party of 6 hungry hikers sat down and BAM out came our pizzas piping hot! I will miss this place. Cool gear inside too. Bonus!
google avatar

Rachel D.

Yelp
Stopped in to grab a pizza to take home. This was some of the best pizza I've ever had! I believe the dough is sourdough and it's incredible! It's also attached to a little shop with gear and there's a small section full of books and maps of the area. Next time we're in Escalante we will be back for sure. Looking forward to trying some of their desserts as well.
google avatar

Sheldon C.

Yelp
Excellent pizza! The Neon is especially tasty. The crust is crunchy with substance. It is delicious. Awesome store too - cafe combined with a shop. Very nice and helpful staff and people who pointed us towards one of our best hikes ever - a local hike at Lower Calf Creek Falls.
google avatar

Yelp
Lovely outfitter shop with plenty of gear for your backpacking or camping trip. Gear ranges from high end to cheaper goods. At the back is a cafe that serves sourdough pizza and epic sandwiches and salads. save room for dessert! The New York cheesecake and the lemon blueberry cake were our favorites!
google avatar

Catherine M.

Yelp
Mouthwatering pizza in the absolute best setting. Ambiance and atmosphere on point! We had a fantastic and nicely paced dinner out on the front porch on a warm, muggy night under the stars and enjoyed every bite. The pizza had a tangy tomato sauce (my fav) and crispy crust. It was just a quick walk from our cabin. Our server was originally from Ballard, WA which is right by where we're from in Seattle. Had a great talk with her and felt happy and at home.
google avatar

Yelp
This place rocks! Luckily for us, a lot of places were closed on Sunday, and we ended up here. This place was perfect after a long day of hiking. Great salads, pizza, and beer. Kim took our order, and she was friendly and personable. After taking our order, we quickly found a table. Our order came out after a short wait, and everything was delicious! The Apple Pecan Arugula salad and our Moody Creek Pizza with Arugula were very, very, very good. We later found out Nate, the owner, was in the kitchen helping out on a busy Memorial Day weekend Sunday. Unfortunately for us, it was our last night in Escalante. When we're back in town, we're definitely returning to this place.
google avatar

Sil H.

Yelp
This place surprised me. This is a non pretentious restaurant serving one the best pizza I ever eat. With its very easy going atmosphere and staff, and simple decor, this place is a gem in the middle of your way to Escalante National Park and it should be a mandatory stop.
google avatar

Dave S.

Yelp
The owner was very friendly and the food was fantastic. We accidentally left our dog water bowl there, so I hope they will leave it on the patio for other dogs.

Yelp
Great pizza, The dough was very tasty . We also liked the olive lime cake. Staff were very nice and accommodating.

Yelp
We did all three things at this place we dined, shopped and stayed. First the food. We had two pizzas. The crust was flavorful, a nice chewy but not too soft texture and I could have ate it without any toppings. The baked goods all looked delicious. I had a cookie for breakfast and it was one of the best I have ever ate. Had I been able to travel with it, I would have taken a lemon blubbery cake slice to go. Limited indoor seating is available. Bought a pair of sunglasses. The only downside to the store was nothing had a price tag on it . Very friendly people who seemed to enjoy working there. The cabin was clean and comfortable. Had two lamps for lights and hooks to keep stuff off the floor. A window unit that kept the temp comfortable. The bathrooms they kept warm as it was cooler in the day and night. Hot showers good water pressure! Could use a little more space to put clothes on but it's manageable. Two stalls of showers and toilets with sinks available. No issues with after hour noise. Would definitely stay again or just go for the food!

Dave M.

Yelp
Pizza looked delicious but lacked flavor and desperately needed salt. The woman taking orders seemed a bit bothered and didn't like questions, fortunately the manager stepped in when we had questions regarding our daughter's food allergies. When my wife asked about an IPA, she replied "I don't know, I don't drink beer", which is fair but kind of rude considering it's her job to describe the food and drink the menu. At a minimum she should have said is popular or not. It was good atmosphere and they allowed dogs on the patio.
google avatar

Jacqueline T.

Yelp
This seemed to be the most popular place to eat in Escalante, so we wanted to check it out. My husband and I split: - Slickrock Italian Cold Cut Sandwich - 10" BYO Pizza w/red sauce, pepperoni, pineapple, roasted garlic, red onion - 10" BYO Pizza w/pesto, prosciutto, goat cheese, roasted garlic, mushroom - Sticky Bun We came for the pizza, but my husband really wanted an Italian sandwich and it ended up being my favorite thing. The pizza is also great. You really can't go wrong here.
google avatar

Paula H.

Yelp
One of the best pizzas I've ever had. Covered patio was comfortable even in June. Sat outside with our puppy and enjoyed the night. The moody was excellent. I loved the toppings and the crust was amazing. Cooked to perfection
google avatar

Anthony T.

Yelp
I was in dire need of pizza and an Italian sub. After hiking 6 miles, my craving needed to be satiated. Thankfully, Escalante Outfitters was able to meet my harsh, post-hike demands. I was expecting this place to be better than average but I think they were exceptional especially when you consider that they are in the middle-of-nowhere Escalante. My wife and I shared two build-your-own pizzas, their version of an Italian sandwich, and a sticky bun. We loved it all. I think the Italian sub may have been our favorite but honestly I don't think you can go wrong.
google avatar

Selena N.

Yelp
This place was great and perfect for this area. The pizza was great! So was the salad! We wished that they served breakfast because nobody else does there. We went there for lattes in the morning and even tried their dessert. The chocolate cake we got was a bit dry but the berry one was better. I wished I had tried a lemon bar. Friendly women there and we really enjoyed going there. Great spot!
google avatar

Brad B.

Yelp
Incredible pizza. Perfect crust. Small kitchen so the service isn't quick but it's definitely worth the wait.
google avatar

Elise C.

Yelp
Everyone in town will tell you this is the place for pizza, and they're right! The Outfitters and the cafe are two awesome parts of one building. We came in between lunch and dinner and had the place to ourselves for a while. We each ordered our own small pizza, and my Choprock (sans tomatoes) was quite tasty. All of the flavors meshed well and nothing overpowered anything else. They also had a fun selection of beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
google avatar

Kimberly S.

Yelp
Stopped in to have a bite to eat and went with the King Mega with chicken, sausage, bacon and other stuff. The crust was so crunchy with nice herbs on top.(from their garden) we also had beer. Of course after a hike! My husband got a Belgian Stout and I got a Mexican Ale. Both were also very tasty.
google avatar

Brecken L.

Yelp
Such a great spot for a quick sandwich! We really enjoyed how fresh and tasty everything was while on the road. It is a definite pit stop!
google avatar

Yelp
Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, and outstanding pizza on sourdough crust! Also a well stocked outdoor store with quality gear and guide books.

Yelp
We ended up here after some other places we were going to stop at were closed. It was a happy accident. The pizza was good and the cakes and other desserts were great!
