My husband and I unfortunately did not had a pleasant time.. We been there for only one night! Great location, amazing food there however lotz of negative points : no lift had to carry our luggage upto 2nd floor, rooms are dark lack flight, lack of variety for breakfast, we had our food outside on the terrace of the veranda and the next day at around 15hrs the plates was still there and so the bierre bottles.. We did not felt at ease at all.. Not a place for us though it might be walking distance to the center

Lovely overall hotel experience! The lounge and dining area are well decorated, spacious, comfortable, and clean. The hallways and stairwells and pool are clean. The rooms are also nice and spacious, and have good amenities, big closet, television, full length mirror, air conditioning, and table. The service is friendly and the food selection and quality is good and they are serving local cuisine! Great location as well! Only a short walk from Port Mathurin, shops, restaurants, and market. Very relaxing to come here...

Escale vacances is found in the heart of Port Mathurin. Have had a lovely experience. From all the staff we encountered to the beautiful design of the guest house and the positive vibes throughout the reception, lobby, restaurant and Bar, we just couldn’t fault anything. A lovely place to stay. Special thanks to Florina. She is a hard working and kind lady working on consecutive days. She gives her best at work. Keep up with the good work. The management need to recognise her for the amazing job she does and am absolutely sure that she will continue to do so….Thank you to the entire team of Escale Vacances. They have been responsive to each and every request made. Have had a memorable experience.

I presently staying at Escale Vacances with my family, and I must say it was an overall disappointing experience and I just want to leave right now and cannot wait until tomorrow. I had opted for the full board package, expecting a seamless and enjoyable stay, but unfortunately, it fell short of our expectations. The first disappointment came when I discovered that, despite paying a considerable amount for the full board, I was required to pay extra for soft drinks and some basic and cheap items from the mini-fridge in the room. This additional cost was not clearly communicated during the booking process, leaving me feeling misled. The lack of variety in the New Year's menu was disappointing, with each day's breakfast the same thing that is two eggs, one sausage, margarine butter, one tiny bowl of jam and few slices of bread. There was no effort to make the dining experience special for the occasion. Worst, the absence of pastries (not even a biscuit) during afternoon tea except a cup of tea and the repetition of bed sheets and towels daily added to the lackluster atmosphere. Fortunately, I brought snacks and stuffs for my kids. Also, the delay in the food service is not great especially if you have kids... Traveling with an infant and a toddler, I found it surprising that I paid almost the same amount for my toddler as I did for an adult, yet there was no kids' menu available and a designated kids' corner made the stay less accommodating for families with young children. This oversight made dining with young children more challenging and left us feeling undervalued as guests. The hotel's failure to organize any special end-of-year activities or entertainment, aside from a few crackers, left a void in the festive atmosphere. The absence of animation or engaging events during the festive season detracted from the overall experience, especially given the premium price paid for the stay. Upon discussing my concerns with the hotel management and gently requesting the waiver of the approximately Rs 400 for consumed soft drinks vs about Rs42K paid, I was met with a negative response. Instead of addressing the issue, the response focused on the checkout time, highlighting that I will be departing at 16:15 hrs instead of the usual 14:00 hrs. This oversight failed to consider my late arrival around 21:30 hrs, where the standard check-in time is at 13:00 hrs. This lack of understanding and flexibility regarding my circumstances added to the overall frustration especially I'm traveling with my newborn and a toddler. While the staff members were generally polite and accommodating, the shortcomings in the overall experience overshadowed these positive aspects. Unfortunately, based on my recent stay, I DON'T RECOMMEND ESCALE VACANCES to others seeking a more fulfilling and enjoyable stay, especially during special occasions and if you have kids. I hope the management takes this feedback constructively and makes the necessary improvements for future guests.

Stayed for 3 nights. Well situated, walking distance to the market and bus terminal. Very polite and helpful staff. We wanted to taste the typical "riz maïs/haricots rouges" and the staff happily included that in their dinner menu. Excellent room service, rooms even though a bit old are clean. Overall very satisfied with the service, big thanks to all the staff. Highly recommended.

Like someone's house. Fair price. Thus the room is enough, but the swimming pool does not work - it is a kind of decoration. The people who cares about this place, mainly ladies, are very nice and even buy something specific if you ask them, for breakfast. The breakfast always includes a wonderful local banana, coffee/tea, eggs (omelette prepared as you wish), local sweet, Mauritian yoghurt. Just for me they were so kind as to buy and serve papaya :)

Stayed at the Hotel for 4 days. The location is absolutely perfect if you way to explore the island rather than being on the beach all day. With the renovation completed the place is great.||Room were neat and functional - we were not expecting it to be a 5star but they beat our expectations in terms of personalised service. ||We really felt welcomed by everyone of the staff . Denise and the manager (Mrs Virasamy..) were attentive. They were eager to make suggestions for good places to eat, visit etcs.||Frankly a night show of Rodrigues traditionally sega, dance and music for a small size town hotel was not expected... it was such a great night of fun and laughter.||As mentioned it is a small hotel - do expect to take part in its daily life rather than wait for things to happen. We were a big group so we gave our breakfast preferences the night before and timing ( to fit our morning plans) and things when like clockwork.||Denise thank you again for playing such a great host. Hats off and Merci again. We shall be back again and again. |
