Escape Weligama

The rooms were nice and spacious with plenty of storage for your belongins. The rooms were clean exceeded expectations for a hostel. The pool area has a really nice vibe and is great to hangout. The food if you choose to order there is decently priced and tastes very good. It's in a great location and just across the street from the beach. I had a great experience here, however there was an excess amount of flies and mosquitoes which was less than ideal.

We stayed here for 4 nights. ||The positives..... ||Food was generally very good. Staff really made an effort to make people feel welcome. Room was good (2 bedrooms in suite for us as a family of four). Bathroom was huge. No alcohol served at the hotel but that’s really not a drama - other options in area if that’s what you need. Check in and out very smooth. ||Area for improvement....||Being left at the airport for 90 mins and hotel telling us that the driver is there and will meet us at desk we were standing at. Guess what... no driver. We had to ask a local taxi to take us which is fine off we hadn’t pre booked and told to not take a local taxi, whilst on the phone with the hotel during that wait. The resort is 3 hours from the airport... this oversight to send a car meant it became 4.5 hours for us. ||Other than that, hotel was very nice.

We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Our room was perfect with our own outdoor pool. ||The hotel in general was very comfortable and seems very good maintained. ||||The staff was polite, but some of the members could have been a little more friendly. ||||The food was great and the staff working here was very service minded. ||||The location of the hotel is better than first expected when you see the property. ||It took us ten minutes by tuk-tuk to Mirissa beach and it will take you a five minute walk to reach Weligama beach. You have to cross the main road, but this is no problem at all. You can both rent surfboards at the hotel and down by the beach. We choose the beach and it was very convenient and cheap.||||We loved staying at this hotel and will highly recommend it for surfers and couples in general.

location- south end of the beach, good location hidden away just behind the main road.. short walk to some great cafes & the beach||room- absolutely loved my room; windows open up to interior garden; colonial styled; spacious, clean & tidy; looove the size of the bathroom; very comfortable||amenities- outdoor pool great for lying around & tanning for the lazy ones (like me); yoga classes for a small fee available during my stay||overall: staff are all helpful & friendly.. loved the quiet location close to the beach

Me and my girlfriend stayed in the Double room and had a really nice time. The staff were pleasant, hotel/bar pool were very relaxing and the room was spacious. One thing that I would be careful with is that the cleaners tidy away/ fold your clothes and personal belongings, so I recommend specifying to them when you arrive that you want your personal belongings left alone. It is a bit unnerving to have your personal items rearranged (even if they mean well when doing it)

The place at itself is beautifull, pleasant rooms in an ancient building with a very warm athmosphere. It was the staff who made our stay heaven on earth. Fresh flowers in the room, very clean rooms a also, and the food, the food was magnificent, always brought to us by Errol who gave a top 5 star service. Friendly staff and great athmosphere. Our room was supposed to be for 4 people but there was only one double bed and one single (and no windows). The bathroom was huge and had a luxurious feel to it. The restaurant served good food and the pool was great to relax by after a day at the beach.

Nice place to stay, we were in suite with private pool. It was nice for the price we got it, but I think not worth a lot more. Food is a bit overpriced but you can find the best restaurant in Weligama just across the road. Rooms are clean, towels we received had some yellow stains on them. Also the difference between rooms are quite enourmous standard room is really basic room for quite a lot of money, but suite is just double price and it's a lot better.
