The entrance was closed. I am not sure if Google maps has the incorrect route but we could not access the lake

Leads you to a construction site. Location needs to be updated. Esopus Creek is about 65 miles in length. Google maps specifically leads you to a random site near its end point where it deposits into the Hudson River. For those of you who saw promising images of waterfalls and fishing and only got a construction site, my best recommendation is to check out the NY Department of Conservations website to find specific locations either in the upper or lower portions of the creek. The upper and lower portions are divided by the Ashokan Reservoir which is near the construction site in question. I hope this helps future travelers.

I totally agree with Cristos and Danielle Surgnier. The directions leads you to a construction site. I drove through the construction site, disregarding the “No Trespassing” sign and the road leads you to a a grassy soft soil road. I made a U turn and drove back to be stopped by an old guy with his dog at the construction site, screaming at me and I had to apologized to him 4 times, I explained to him about this creek and the gps lead me here, he said there’s no damn creek and the gps is wrong, at least he was nice enough to let me drive away.
