"Montreal, the Green City of the North Perhaps due in large part to the city’s notoriously harsh, never-ending winters, Montrealers have a profound appreciation of their green spaces, always jumping at the chance of spending a couple of hours outdoors, basking in the sun. The Mont-Royal Mountain is the most popular, however, simply by its size (529 acres!), its fabulous views over the city and its architect — Frederick Law Olmsted. Parc Lafontaine and Parc Sir Wilfrid Laurier are also local favorites, where sunbathers, young families, BBQ-ers and joggers mingle happily, enjoying every minute of the all too short summer months. The two parks are located near delicious take-out counters (Ma poule mouillée and Lapin pressé, respectively) making it a perfect pique-nique opportunity."

A beautiful Fall day after the Lafontaine classique run some friends and I checked out the Chalet restaurant by the finish line and were pleasantly surprised to discover a full lunch menu and café. The lentil soup with a pulled pork sandwich was the choice of one friend and first prize winner in her age group 60+ chose an expresso and a spinach veggie quiche which she enjoyed. I had the same with a café au lait served hot! Live band on Sunday accepts donations.

This long standing on again, off again chalet restaurant is truly a landmark within a wonderfully cherished city park. Over the years, so many transformations have taken place to now having found its true calling. Lots of charm, good food and live entertainment. It also serves in a bigger way as a part of society's less fortunate get a lending hand through a well organized, charitable program. A must visit. Lots of seating available and reservations are not necessary.

I lived a perfect moment at that place with my husband. I had never had so delicious cookie. The croissant is also very special. Service happy and European atmosphere

Great escape from the noise of the city. Can be congested when big events are going on. Great place for a picnic, relaxing stroll, see ducks and sit by a man made pond, lots of benches and even a place to eat! Definitely will go back again!

It quite big and feels fresh and refreshing. If has lots of activity places like Volleyball, baseball, football,Tennis and children’s park. It also has a good big pond with birds in it and has a fresh small waterfall adding more beauty to it. People also come here for picnic, play different games, walking and cycling as well

I visited the complex while at Parc La Fontain but did not eat here. Large, cafeteria style kitchen and seating. The menu seems well rounded and reasonably priced. Good booze selection (I assume that is necessary when spending the whole day at a park with kids - wouldn't know firsthand). Washrooms were very clean. There is free wifi.

Nice spot, didn’t have any food but tried the ice coffee with was delicious. Sat outside and got to people watch everyone hanging out at the park, the cafe is in the middle of the park so you have a lot of foot traffic passing by. Hours of fun!
