This is the ONLY MUST on Amelia Island. Everything we had was impeccable. The Portuguese Fisherman's Stew is heavenly. The Tapas are excellent. The service, the best we have experienced on the island. The price is reasonable for a vacation spot and the price is fantastic for the quality of food. The presentation is also exemplary as is evidenced in the pictures. If you are on Amelia Island and do not come here, you have missed one of, if not the best restaurant on the island.

Enjoyed authentic Spanish tapas on our first visit here. The menu has plenty of interesting offerings. The fried calamari was perfect. Nice ambiance and the service was excellent. Outdoor dining is available -- there seemed to be more outdoor tables than indoor. Reservations recommended.

We are for the first time here for my birthday dinner out of town from Ocala. Michael was our server who’s worked there for 12 years. His service was exceptional! He was so knowledgeable and down to earth. We truly enjoyed him he completed the entire España experience!!!! We will come back just to enjoy this and him again!! You must try this wonderful gem!

Google
Great variety of food ( see menu) . We had some tapas and the Paella Marinera. Better than the paella we had in Lisbon on a food tour!! Perfect portion for two. Everything was fresh and service was timely. The restaurant seems to go out of their way to accommodate special food requests . ( overheard at nearby table) q Our waiter Eddie was delightful and did not over sell or rush us . Lovely indoor and outdoor seating. We made reservations day of on a holiday weekend but for 4pm. Great mid day meal!

Google
All the videos hyped this restaurant but it was mid at best. We ordered the grilled octopus & it was still cold with a slight char. Their star dish was the paella & we asked for it to be will done so the rice would be crispy... came out mushy. The sangria was very weak to almost like flavored water. We asked for bread & butter 3x before they brought some out. We were inside tur restaurant and not the patio & couldn't get any servers' attention. At this point, we skipped dessert. Too expensive for the quality of food & service. It was not busy on a Saturday night at 6 pm. Maybe it was an off night for them but we would not be coming back.

Google
Fantastic flavors and authentic cuisine! We shared empanadas, garlic shrimp, and fresh catch (flounder) ole. The service was great and atmosphere was lovely. Definitely coming back.

Google
My husband and I visited the restaurant expecting to have a great culinary experience like the ones he used to have in Asturias when he visited with his parents and like we used to have in other restaurants. We were far disappointed. His Medallion on Madeira was cold , he had to asked to heat again and my chicken with garlic and lemon was sooo salty that I couldn’t eat. My dish was took out the bill but what we were expecting to be a great meal was too far from that.

Google
We had an amazing experience at España in Yulee! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting—definitely one of the best around. Our server, Roky, was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and truly top-notch. The food was absolutely delicious, and the wine selection was fantastic. This is the perfect spot to relax, hang out, and enjoy a great meal. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Dining at a restaurant that was a favorite of Mick Jagger and his Rolling Stones entourage when on their concert tour made Espana a must stop. Hey, if good enough for Mick, it had to be good enough for us! Espana did not disappoint. The 3 of us enjoyed a comfortable table indoors this night as north Florida was having one of its cold spells. Too bad, as the outdoor dining area looked great but believe me, it was too cold on this Thursday night and inside was packed. I opted for a glass of wine while my other 2 companions shared a pitcher of Sangria. I'm not a big fan of Sangria but I did a taste and I'm sure you will like it. We started off with a 3 lamb chop special and a Espana salad that was shared between the 3 of us. This was the perfect starter since we wanted to save room for our seafood Paella. The Lamb Chops were simply awesome! I could have dined on them alone. The salad was a fine mix of greens, cheese, ham and olives with a light dressing that was a refreshing finish to the Lamb Chops. Our Paella was served in a large pan and was chock full of Mussels, Clams, Scallops, Shrimp and Fish. Outstanding for me but I have not had Paella in a long time but the presentation, temperature, quality of the seafood, and taste were excellent. Hence, nothing to take home. Our server was awesome, attentive and friendly as was everyone working at Espana. Highly recommend for fun and ambiance. When I return in May we will definitely return and sit out doors.

Yelp
I love tapas. I am a tapas aficionado, actually. Spain, NYC, anywhere--if there is a tapas restaurant, I'm going to try it. I love Spanish food. The tapas at España Restaurant were bland flavored and not at all what I am accustomed to having at similar places. I ordered the classic Gambas al Ajillo and it was lacking acidity and salt. They were very oily and garlicky. I had to add lots of salt to get some kind of flavor balance. Next, I took a chance and ordered their portobello mushroom tapas, with manchego and Serrano ham--it was a soupy, flavorless mess. The mushroom was tough, and there was way too much sauce on the plate. Normally, I love extra sauce because of the flavorful quality. I even ordered bread to have with these two dishes specifically to use with the sauces. Sadly, I couldn't even finish the mushroom dish. I wished I had had more bread but the portion of bread that you are paying for is minimal. The sangria was decent. The Tres Leches cake was very sweet, but tasty. The service was just okay. I would not recommend this place to travelers. Was surprised because it was packed, but the food I had was mediocre.

Yelp
I cannot believe with as many visits to España as I've had I never reviewed my experience. There is a reason patrons line up before 5 to enjoy dinner at this restaurant, it's the atmosphere, friendly service, variety of menu options and quality of the food you order. I always make a meal out of tapas and this visit was no different. I ordered a 1/2 carafe of red sangria to enjoy with my meal $25. My first taste was the Cerdo & Higos 4 pcs (Serrano ham with fig jam, goat cheese with a fig & basalmic glaze served on crostini) $10. For the flavor and quality of this tapa it's a deal! I next ordered picadinho (braised pork loin marinated in wine & herbs) $14. You get a small platter with a reasonable portion on pork. Great flavors from the stew which can be enjoyed with bread. Next, I tried their Ceviche (diced shrimp cured with lemon, onion, peppers and cilantro) also $14. You get a reasonable portion of shrimp and the flavors are perfectly balanced. No feast is complete without dessert and I ordered the flan. Great caramel flavor throughout and it's not so rich you cannot finish. $10. I will always drive out of my way to dine at this restaurant. It's my favorite anywhere.

Yelp
España Restaurant and Tapas lives up to its reputation as one of the area's finest dining establishments. After keeping this place on my radar long before moving here, I finally experienced it firsthand - and it absolutely delivered on all fronts. We planned dinner with our friends, and since they have been longing to try them out too, we pushed our luck to secure a reservation. Booking a reservation is essential, as we've heard that it's hard to get a seat when walking in. Book at least a few days ahead either through the Resy app (which is what we did) or by phone. They offer both indoor and outdoor patio seating; we chose the cozy interior dining room which features romantic dim lighting that sets the perfect mood for an evening out. During our visit, we explored their holiday menu and chose to order a few Tapas to share. The Entreme (charcuterie board) provided a lovely start, but the true standouts were the Ceviche and Chorizo Encabollado. We also got the Paella Marinera from the Entree menu, which is a generous seafood medley that showcases their expertise with traditional Spanish cuisine. Our other food selections included the Gambas Al Ajillo, Burrata, and Scallops Ole. While the restaurant's name suggests purely Spanish fare, they also offer Portuguese dishes. While they don't serve hard liquor, their carefully curated wine and beer selection complements the menu perfectly. Prices lean toward the higher end, but the quality of ingredients, preparation, and overall dining experience fully justify the cost. We definitely enjoyed our dining experience, and personally put España on top of my favorites in Fernandina Beach. Looking forward to dining here again!

Yelp
We enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner with family at España Restaurant & Tapas. From the moment we arrived, the aroma of spices filled the air, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The holiday menu featured a tempting selection of dishes. We were a party of four and started with sangria, beer, and an order of chicken empanadas served with a spicy aioli sauce. These were hands down the most delicious empanadas I've ever had! For our main courses, we enjoyed the fresh catch, rockfish--one prepared with Ole sauce and the other with Espinaca sauce--and Calderada de Mariscos for two. Each dish was bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. To end the meal on a sweet note, we shared two incredible desserts: a creamy cheesecake and a decadent flourless chocolate cake. Both were the perfect finish to an already outstanding meal. Our server, Omar, provided exceptional service, ensuring that every detail of our meal was perfect. Spending this special evening with family in such a festive and welcoming setting made the night even more memorable. España Restaurant & Tapas is a must-visit, and we're already looking forward to our next meal there!

Yelp
We have eaten here several times over the last few years and have always looked forward to authentic Tapas and Paella. Unfortunately, this visit was just average; the food seemed to be prepped ahead in large vats rather than prepared to order and we wondered if the restaurant has changed hands. The staff was lovely and accommodating, but this visit was less magical than expected!

Yelp
First time at Espana. 10/10! Server Ashley was very knowledgeable and helpful. Restaurant was nice with an attractive outside area. Prices were pretty reasonable. Food was great. We're already talking about returning next year.

Yelp
11/9/24. We had our anniversary dinner here! Always love their paella; with added white sangria, Andalusia salads and then a nice square of tres leche cake. Everything was delicious and though not the restaurant's fault but the noise level can get very loud inside‍!?!

Yelp
Highly recommend making a reservation here. The food is really fantastic and the service is great too. Our waitress was attentive and came by regularly. We were a party of 2 and decided on 2 tapas and 1 larger dish. Both tapas were good - the highlight was the sangria salad, which was fruity, refreshing, light and also slightly cheesy. We also got a seafood Mozambique dish, which was amazing. The coconut kind of stands out (very well) and it was a good portion to shar

Yelp
A very serene surrounding sitting outside in a very nice courtyard. Service was on point and very accommodating and very menu savvy. The food could have been in Barcelona or Palma (only places I have been). Flavor profiles were very engaging and made us guess exactly what made our taste buds pop. Very exciting evening and we did it in a very Spanish way by having Tapas and sharing. Very affordable and a great selection for a date night.

Yelp
This is my new favorite restaurant on the island. Our waitress was wonderful. We could tell she was overbooked but she was still very attentive and kind. She let us order small plates as we went. We started with the meat and cheese platter. It was amazing. There's an attention to detail that's so wonderful. The almonds and the olives have extra seasoning on them. Next we got the Burrata (a special that night) and the garlic shrimp. Both were incredible. Then my friend ordered the empanadas and I got the garden salad. Both really good as well! My friend ended the meal with the tiramisu. I stole a couple of bites and it was the best tiramisu I've ever had. The restaurant is beautiful. I wasn't super crazy about the house they bought next door. It was a little tight and you could hear everyone's conversations. In fact, I got the hiccups and the entire room got quiet and started talking to me. I would have much rather been in the garden or the glass room looking out over the garden. However, I would sit anywhere to eat this food! I'm glad they've gotten extra space to seat more people because this food deserves to be enjoyed!

Yelp
This is my second time at this restaurant and it lived up to my first review! The sangria is delicious (get the pitcher!) We shared marcones (salted and roasted almonds), grilled calamari with capers, chorizo with onions, bureaus over arugula with balsamic dressing and goat cheese roasted garlic empanada. Every dish was divine! The service was excellent (my glass stayed full). We sat outside on the patio and were in foodie heaven!

Yelp
Just wow. This is our 2nd time here. I must say it's one of the best meals I have ever had. We started with Escargo and the CHAMPINONES A LA ESPANA -- (Grilled Portobello Espana style) Char-grilled portobello topped with manchego cheese, Serrano ham and a light beef sauce. It was awesome. I had the SOLOMILLO CON MADEIRA -- (Tenderloin with Madeira Wine) Grilled beef tenderloin topped with a mushroom and Madeira wine sauce Wow the wife had the Chciken and we were blown away. Go try it asap.

Yelp
Delicious NYE meal. Filet mignon was cooked perfectly. The sangria was delicious as well. Thanks

Yelp
We were looking for a smallish meal so we skipped the paella choices as they were very large - but looked superb! We stuck with salads and tapas. Pork empanadas were very good as well as the fried calamari and shrimp fish shown in the picture. We will go back - with a bigger appetite and dig into one of the three paella choices. Service was excellent! Very pleasant outdoor seating area!

Yelp
Best meal we had in Amelia. We reserved a table on the huge patio which had a nice atmosphere. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgable about the menu and food. We just ordered a couple small plates including the ceviche and grilled calamari steak. the calamari steak was unmatched and is the only way I would like to have squid. Super tender, charred, flavorful and fresh. Likewise the ceviche. A great place if you want a good selection of fish options and Spanish tapas. I hope to return when I eat out in Amelia again.

Liz N.

Yelp
Our new favorite restaurant on the island. Food and service were top notch. Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu.

Yelp
Every time my husband and I are in town, we eat at this restaurant. We love it!! The service is great!

Yelp
The dinner was 3 to 3 1/2 stars, but I'm rounding up because we got very good service from Duarte. We like small plates and were excited to try and share their tapas dishes. We started with a half pitcher of sangria. It had chopped apples and tiny pieces oranges with the peel in red wine, but unfortunately was a bit bitter. We didn't care for it. We had one of their "pintxos" to start. These are like the open faced montaditos -- with a topping on a slice of bread. The one we got had fig jam, goat cheese, and ham. He really liked it, but I thought it was a tad too messy as the jam was runny. We also had their gambas al ajillo. There were 5 shrimp sautéed in a garlic "sauce". This was good. And then we had a nightly special of a short steak tapas. This was sliced churassco that had a bit of chimichurri sauce on top. This was the best of the three plates. For dessert, we shared their caramel flan. It was just okay. I'm glad we came. Now we know. We were seated inside, but they have a lovely outdoor seating area decorated with patio lights which seems much more charming. Inside it was quite dark -- and hard to see what we were eating. And a large loud party nearby didn't help the ambiance, either.

Yelp
One of the most difficult reservations on Amelia Island, Espana Restaurant and Tapas is well worth the effort. On a rainy evening, we gambled at someone might cancel. An outdoor table under an awning was available so we grabbed the opportunity. The light rain only added to the ambiance. Our waiter was very helpful in guiding us through this innovative menu. The selections are grand from tapas to paella. We were feeling adventuresome and felt tapas meant we would taste more treats. Normally, we are focused on not over-eating, but tonight we got caught up with great sounding tapas and needing to try many great flavors. We ordered 5 separate tapas and felt lucky to be here. We started with the gambas Mozambique: shrimp sauteed in spicy coconut milk and cilantro, a truly delicious tapas. Caracoles: escargot cooked in brandy, garlic, onions in a creamy tomato sauce, again well seasoned and a delicious sauce. I could of use a straw or more bread for the sauce alone. Our next choice was the Piquillo peppers stuffed with smoke salmon on a crustini and sea salt sprinkle. It was tasty but our least favorite tapas. The nightly special was a beef empanada with a chimichurri sauce. The show stopper tonight was the grilled calamari steak topped with olive oil, capers and balsamic vinegar drizzle. I have never had a better piece of calamari. My hat is off to the kitchen. Get reservations, try the tapas and buckle your seat belt for an true dining experience. The restaurant has great food with a highly educated staff. Treat yourself to a special evening with reservations at Espana Restaurant and Tapas, you won't regret it.

Yelp
Unpretentious and relaxed vibe. It's definitely an upscale crowd. Gambas Mozambique: A. Delicious sauce and perfectly cooked shrimp. Paella Marinera: A+. With an abundance of seafood and individually cooked, this dish is bursting with flavor. It's one of the best paella's I've ever had. Service: A+. Hosts were accommodating. Our server was 100% knowledgeable about the menu, made recommendations with confidence, and gave timely service.
google avatar

Christopher M.

Yelp
Service was very good. I'll start with the bad. The calamari was meh. The complementary bread wasn't anything special. Everything else was delicious. Got the Champiñones a la España, very good. Gambas Mozambique, very good. Empañadas, delicious. Piquillo rellano, good. Ensalada Andalusia, very good. The cheesecake and the flourless chocolate cake were delicious also. It might look like it is completely dead when you walk up, but it probably isn't. They just tuck everyone back in and behind the restaurant where you can't see or hear them. Nice relaxed quiet meal :)

Yelp
We found our new favorite! Small initiate setting, delicious food, and friendly service. We had the paella marinara, calamari, and olives, everything was so flavorful and great portions. Will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
We made a reservation on the advice of a friend and never looked back! The restaurant is located just off Centre Street on 4th Street in the quaint neighborhood of Fernandina Beach. Overall, the restaurant was buzzing with conversations and plenty of obviously very satisfied guests. The menu was typical Spanish cuisine, so we began with escargot (caracoles) prepared in a delicious creamy tomato sauce dotted with roasted peppers. We enjoyed an in house made sangria that only added to the overall flair of our meal. For our entree we chose the Paella Marinara for two composed of scallops, shrimp, clams, mussels, calamari, fresh fish baked on a bed of baked on a mixture of tomatoes, red peppers and rice. Since this was a special dinner, we shared a desert, a Carmel flan, that was just right to top off s terrific evening! We are already looking forward to our next trip to Fernandina Beach and a return visit to Espana!

Karen A.

Yelp
I would come back just for the basque cheesecake! Not sweet, and lovely toasty notes from the crust. The empanada special was great and service very good.

Emily L.

Yelp
So so good. Love the tapas and style of this place. The outside is super cute and service was great. We just ordered 3 tapas and a crostini. All were amazing flavor and reasonably priced. Our favorite was the crostini. We will definitely be back. I don't think this place has any bad items really.
google avatar

January V.

Yelp
This place was worth the drive. I have been wanting to try this place for a while now but every time we visit Fernandina, this place is booked. Booked the restaurant for a Sunday dinner and I see why this is a popular place. We started with the bread and butter that they serve. Bread was soft and warm. We ordered the homemade sangria whjch was delicious and on the sweet side. We ordered a couple of tapas: patatas brava, escargot, gambas, fried scallops and burrata with balsamic vinegar and arugula. They are flavorful, good portions and delicious. I cannot decide which is the best since they are all good choices. Service was also good as they were constantly refilling our water and changed our plates and utensils for the next entree. We had the paella Valencia which the portion is big for the price they offer. It has ample amount of seafood and meat and not all rice. The paella was cooked really well and rice has good texture and seafood was not fishy at all. We cannot wait to go back and try the other tapas and entree they offer. I think the drive can be overlooked.
google avatar

Joe M.

Yelp
At the suggestion of the bartender at Palace Saloon we came here for tapas. Fabulous experience. We sat at the bar since there were no tables available. The service was so friendly and efficient. The three Tapas that we shared were authentic and delicious. Can't wait to return and try more yummy tapas.
google avatar

Yelp
Shared paella marinara for two. Delicious! Wonderful ambience inside and out. Very professional staff. Will try it again on my next visit to Amelia Island.
google avatar

Yelp
Having moved here after almost forty years in Miami area, I can attest to the Tapas here being the best around all of the Island and all of Jacksonville. And daughter absolutely love the Paella Valencia. Well priced, always busy cuz so delicious

Yelp
This trip to Amelia Island just went to a new level with Espana now one of our most favorite restaurants. If you never have a Paellas you are missing out! The Portuguese Fisherman Stew was over the top delicious! Sangria was not so sweet and you felt like you are in Portugal! Lovely decor and can not say enough at how friendly the wait staff was all ar

Yelp
One of the best restaurants in Fernadina/Amelia Island. The staff are happy and helpful- the patio is beautiful with plants and color ... so pretty! I highly recommend the Paella delicious!

Yelp
Had a reservation and still had to wait. Food is very good. Limited drink menu. Beer, wine and sangria. But I would definitely go there again. Shared tapas which were wonderful and one friend got a meal that she said was delicious. We had two of the daily specials- one was an eggplant dish, the other a special empanada and a garlic shrimp that is on menu. Service wasn't the best, waited a long time to get a drink order in and took a really long time to get any bread to table. Honestly, I think he forgot about us. But food made up for it all.

Yelp
Last Friday, my plans got rained on literally, and I made last minute reservations for my girlfriend and I to eat at the España Restaurant & Tapas at Fernandina Beach! Going in, the place had cool Latin vibes, plenty of seating/people, and the aroma of spanish cooking in the air. We started off our meal first with a jug of house made red sangria, and for apps did the spiced olives and escargot! The sangria was WONDERFUL as it wasn't too sweet, and possessed that cab profile - refreshing eating the sweet fresh fruit inside too! The apps were TASTY too - the olives had a zesty and turmeric flavor to them, and the escargot was prepared in a creamy tomato sauce with brandy which gave it a hearty profile; which was different from your standard garlic & herb fare from the French spots. As for the entree, we split the seafood paella. It was OVERALL REALLY GOOD, but It could've been better IN MY OPINION. The seafood itself was plentiful and had been cooked to perfection! Loved the variety from clams, mussels, catfish/saltfish, calamari, and scallops. The rice also possessed the seafood aroma so nicely done there. Moreover, there was PLENTY TO SHARE. But what I think was lacking; the rice although cooked tenderly, was a little mushy for our liking, and could use more of a garlickier flavor (possibly more minced garlic) as this is a seafood rice dish after all. In summation, the España Restaurant is definitely a great hidden gem, and I'd be open to come back here again and try some of the other dishes on or off the menu! Final verdict is 4.5/5.

Yelp
I have been wanting to dine here for years. Always booked and no reservations available. We made a last-minute call and got a table on the patio. We went on an adventure thru Spain tapas style. Ambiance put is in the garden outside a little restaurant. Service was on point, staff shared the chef thoroughly with emotion. I wanted to try each of them but we just went one of the suggestions the empanadas and many various other tapas. Our favorite choice was the calamari a la plancha So flavorful and tender. The capers was an added touch of acid that gave it an extra punch of flavor. Highly recommend it. We will definitely come back and dine in the restaurant for paella for two.

Yelp
Amazing restaurant! If you go to Amelia Island this is a must try. Make a reservation by calling. This is a classy place so dress up. The service was top notch and all food made in house. Honestly, I wanted to try most things on the menu but didn't have the room to fit it. We ordered a pitcher of sangria for the table. It was perfectly prepped the way it should be. Extensive wine list with reasonable prices. We ordered a bunch of small plates. I didn't have any complaints whatsoever. 1. Lamb empanada: so tasty and tender. Served with a special sauce and not greasy at all. 2. Grilled calamari: I don't eat calamari unless it's deep fried, but this was good and melted in your mouth. 3. Mozzarella and tomato: like bruschetta without the bread. Simple and excellent. 4. Boquerones: I didn't try this because I just don't like them, but my family said they were authentic and delicious. 5. Octopus: tender and flavorful as per my husband. Again, something I don't eat. Paella rustica: the restaurant knocked this out of the park! All of the spices and meats went together so well. It was perfectly cooked. A 2 portion feeds at least 3 people. Because we did several small plates, 6 of us had some paella but that was not enough. To end, we ordered 3 desserts for the whole table to split. Flan, tiramisu, cheesecake. All made in house. All divine. I have never had a better tiramisu. Highly recommend with coffee. All in all, love this place and hope I can go again in the future!

Yelp
Food, service and accommodation were all amazing. My wife and I came here on Valentine's Day and had an experience. It was amazing. We enjoyed our evening and food. We made reservations. It was busy.

Yelp
We made reservations to sit on the patio. We were celebrating our anniversary. The patio had a beautiful ambience. We started with a pitcher of sangria, which was delicious! I had the sangria salad which had lots of fresh fruit and a raspberry vinaigrette. It was delicious too. For our meal, we had the fisherman's stew which came out in a boiling clay pot. It was the best meal we had during our visit to Amelia Island. Lots of seafood and a coconut milk broth, which was light and rich at the same time. The menu indicates it is spicy. I love things that are spicy hot, this just had a light spice to it. It was perfect. For dessert we had the tiramisu. I would come back to this restaurant and order the same thing!

Yelp
We recently dined here for my mother's birthday and will never be coming back again even despite them giving us a gift card for the total of our meal which was roughly $150 (for such a horrible experience). For starters, the food was mid at best... personally i've had WAY better Paellas (idk how to spell it) and the escargot was trash. It took about an hour to get our main course but at least it came out fresh? Idk. Kinda wild. The service on the other hand... that was the true disappointment here. Our waiter checked on us once (at the very end of the meal for dessert) while everyone else around us got checked on multiple times. At one point my husband and I looked at each other waiting to see if that's what was actually happening as he did his rounds and sure enough skipped right over us about 3x's at least. It was SO obvious. The lady who poured the waters was unfriendly. On top of all that we wanted to surprise my mother with a cake that we brought in ourselves for dessert.. we orchestrated calling ahead making sure it was okay, getting to our reservation early (reminded them of our plans) to drop the cake off before my mother arrived in hopes they would bring that out for dessert. Never happened. I'm assuming it was never communicated to our waiter. Sad thing is.. if everything was a seamless enjoyable experience we were planning on tipping at least 40% but instead he got a big fat 0. :)

Yelp
This really is our number one restaurant in Amelia island just for that special occasion. . This was excellent as always, We tried to start with empanadas but they are fried in the same oil as the shrimp so a no go. The portobello starter was ok and excellent. I even sopped it up with the bread. I had the catch of the day with the lemon sauce and the spouse went with the sea bass with the shrimp sauce. No room for desert so as the white sangria has fruit that sufficed.

We had 26 people in our group and these folks treated us extremely well. Overall the tapas were very tasty. We had all of them. If you have never tried snails, please do it here. They call them Caracoles in a delicious brandy, garlic sauce. We tried all three of the Paellas. Some of our group like it some thought it could have been better. Overall it's a great place to go and try something new.

Yelp
Dinner was 10/10! Sangria was delicious and the service was spectacular. I highly recommend for some fresh authentic food!

Yelp
Most everything we got off of the tapas menu was good and the seafood paella was decent. The best thing we tried by far though was this seafood stew in a big clay pot (can't actually remember what it was called on the menu). We all split it and shared, but if I were to go back I would just order that as my meal! So delicious. The chocolate cake I got was good, but I tried some of the cheesecake and I was disappointed by that. The blackened top was obviously burnt on purpose, but it just didn't work. It was much better when you scraped off the top layer.

Yelp
Excellent time! The food was delicious. The atmosphere was nice on a summer night. We'll definitely be coming back.

Yelp
Had an amazing experience at Espana! From food to service, everything was excellent. We sat at the "bar" and tried so many different dishes. There were quite some vegetarian options and even sampled some new dishes the owner was planning for a wedding. Funny to find out the owner was from brazil and speaks fluent Portuguese, so we had a great time chatting in Portuguese too :) Definitely recommend and will go back if I am ever in the area again!

Yelp
We love to visit Espana for a tapas meal. Some of our favorites are the calamari and the piquillo peppers.

Yelp
Just wow! One of the best restaurants in Fernandina Beach for sure, but also one of the best in NE Florida. Tapas to die for, and you won't go wrong with any of the seafood. Empanada lists change with the specials of the day. The service is exceptional. A very busy restaurant, but they accommodate you with friendly ease. The outdoor patio is so nice. Even on winter nights, the space heaters do the job.

Yelp
Food was hot, delish and fresh. The menu didn't have a huge selection but I'd definitely eat here again.

Yelp
We were excited to go back to one of our hometown favorites after not visiting for a year or more due to living primarily in another city. Once seated at a somewhat awkward table for two, we started with adult drinks while looking over the menu. Things have changed quite a bit I will say. The bread they used to serve that was so soft and served with delicious dipping sauce is now a few slices of the hardest bread I might have ever tried to eat. Along with cheap little pats of hard butter wrapped in foil. This was the start of a not great meal. The server was great in accommodating my request for a vegetarian paella, as though it was never on the menu, their paella is now only served in two person sizes. For those of you used to the one person size, make a note. Hubby is dieting so only wanted an appetizer and salad. He chose the pork tenderloin app and the salad with fresh fruit and such. He thought the pork appetizer was average but the salad was really good. We had several adult beverages which included wine, beer, and sangria. Their sangria is really good. Our server was really nice and we appreciated him. He was the only thing that seemed familiar and up to par here. Not long after we were seated, they seated a couple with a dog at the table next to us, which was inside the main dining room. That was disgusting. I like dogs but do not want to dine with a dog next to me in an indoor dining space. I am sure this is against health standards. We just wanted to finish our meals and go. Very disappointed to say the least. I cannot at this point give the recommendations I normally would.
