Esplendor by Wyndham El Calafate

A great hotel, located with easy walking distance to the town centre and its shops and restaurants. We ate at the hotel in the bar and the restaurant and the food was great and very reasonable. Staff were friendly and spoke good English and were very accommodating to our requests. We were in the suite at the top of the hotel overlooking the lake, great views, comfortable bed, a bit of noise when the wind picked up, but that's Patagonia for you. Really good breakfast with a good variety of food. Rooms could do with a bit of refurbishment but overall excellent value for money

We had a great stay at Esplendor El Calafate. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The property is beautiful, clean, and well appointed. The included breakfast buffet was great with something for every taste. The location is about 5-10 minute walk to the main avenue with shops and restaurants in town, just be aware you'll have to walk uphill to get back. There's a small parking area on the side of the building, but it didn't seem to fill up. The only critique we had was there was no climate control we could find in the room, so being on the top floor got a bit warm at night and we had to keep the window open. Other than that, this was a great place to stay in El Calafate.

The location of hotel is a little afar with 20 min walk from the downtown（but you also enjoy a nice walk）. Front desk are friendly, patient and helpful. I booked via Wyndham website, but I could not log in my account after forgetting the password (too difficult to use for their official platform). The room is not bright enough but the bedding is comfortable and the bathroom is spacious. There is petit sauna near the hot tub. Apart from the fresh fruit slices are not fresh, the breakfast is good!

A beautiful and elegant hotel! The location, staff, rooms and food are wonderful! Very comfortable bed and spacious room. Ionis helped us so much with our luggage and great info about El Califate. Nico and everyone else were very helpful and professional. The food for dinner and breakfast was great! Highly recommend staying here and would definitely come back! Thanks to everyone for a great time in El Califate! Also a big thank you to Hugo! You were so nice and patient in helping me with room service.

We had a great stay, thanks to Nicolas who guided us with great information every day regarding restaurants, excursions, visiting the glacier in our car, visiting Chaltan and many other adventures. I must say that after a lifetime of travel, no front desk receptionist has ever been more attentive. The hotel was well located with great views and an awesome breakfast. A great stay.

Our first trip to El Calafate, a long awaited trip. |Our trip was; arriving October 6, 2025 staying till October 10, 2025.|This hotel surely does right to it's name Esplendor!, what an amazing stay.. |The place is so very well done with fine décor of the area and such a pleasant atmosphere.|Getting there was very easy from the airport. I had previously contacted Taxi Remis Calafate and had a driver waiting at the airport with a sign with our name on hand.|Short pleasant drive with a very informative driver named Raul.|Got the hotel and we were very pleasantly surprised at the beautiful lobby and atmosphere. There was a young lady there at the reception, sorry I didn't write down her name, she was very pleasant, friendly and informative to all about the hotel.|Every afternoon when we arrived from our touring she was there to greet us with a amazing pleasant smile.|Our room, we chose a room with the view to the lake upgrade. |The room was nice, adequate, a bit small, very well maintained and clean, also very comfortable and with an mazing view of the lake.|The room had one window depicting a fantastic view, but in the town there are lots of dogs and the barking would deter us from opening it at night. That was fine as the view overcame the dogs. Even though it was cold outside, the room was a bit warm for me and the hotel does not have air-conditioning. |That was promptly solved as I asked the same nice young lady in the reception and she quickly sent me a fan for our room.|The hotel offers a very nice breakfast each morning with an adequate amount of choices to please. Coffee was great and also the service.|About the pool!, this is just not a pool, it is a hot Spa pool, indoor. Wow, the weather outside was cold and depending on your activities, with snow on the mountains, it was amazingly great to us to get in the hot pool every afternoon after our adventures. I really recommend to try it!|The hotel lounge was very nice, beautiful and with fantastic atmosphere. The bar staff was great, very friendly and experts at drink making. They also serve amazing food there.|Well the hotel is beautiful, with great views, fantastic service and staff and in a great location. You could, walk to town but we always asked for a taxi and the reception called it for us. The taxi is very reasonable and also easy to get in town.|Thank you Esplendor for making our stay unforgettable!

Good atmosphere, spacious room and a nice SPA to get warm again. We ate in the restaurant every night. It was very good and the fresh bread and the shrimp starter are absolutely delicious. Friendly and helpful service. Suggestion: It would be good to be able write a tip on the room like in other hotels.

We spent four nights at Esplendor by Wyndham El Calafate and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel has a unique design and a warm, stylish atmosphere — it feels special from the moment you walk in. The views over El Calafate and Lake Argentino are stunning, especially at sunset.|The staff were wonderful — always friendly, polite, and ready to help with anything we needed. Breakfast was good, with plenty of choice, good coffee, and everything fresh and nicely presented. The restaurant where we had dinner a few times, provides good for a more reasonable price than those on the main street.|Our room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The bed was great, though there wasn’t much storage space, and the bathroom layout (with the sink outside and just a curtain) was a bit unusual. Not a big deal, but worth noting.|The hotel sits on a hill just above the town center, which means beautiful views but also a short uphill walk back from restaurants and shops.|Overall, we really liked our stay — it’s a stylish, comfortable hotel with great service and a relaxed vibe.

Nice accommodating staff but some basic problems with the hotel kept this from being a pleasant experience. On check-in we were told that we were being upgraded to a nicer room than had been booked, but I don't think so because if we got the nicer room I'd have hated to be the person who stayed in the one we'd originally been assigned. While the view from the top floor was pleasant, there was no air conditioning and so it turned out to be uncomfortably hot in a room that had almost no air circulation. And the bathroom was so small and poorly laid out that it was physically impossible to use some of the plumbing. Now what could that last sentence actually mean? Well what it means is that the bidet was jammed right up against the radiator so you literally couldn't use it. So now let's talk about how we Americans hardly ever either have the chance to use a bidet or actually use one in practice.... On second thought, nah, let's not talk about that. Let's save that for a Talk section topic. Bottom line on the Esplendor: Not really.

Esplendor was not very splendid. It wasn't bad, but I feel like it was not reaching up to its potential. It's find of silly because there is a really late night flight from Buenos Aires into El Calafate and then this is one of the nicer hotels so everyone from the flight then ends up in line at the hotel. There was only one guy working and he was having a hard time keeping up. The hotel room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. My room also had a great view of the sunrise in the morning. The decor of the room was kind of weird and there was a lot of space that didn't seem utilized correctly. My parents and I went to eat dinner in the hotel after dropping our bags off knowing that it would probably be a disaster and we were not wrong. The dining area is mostly seats in the bar area with a couple of other tables around that seem our of place. We sat down and wait a few minutes, but of course there was only one person working the area and all of the tables were now full with the other passengers that were on our flight. Finally they brought us menus and I got a pizza. The cheese was really good - kind of like fondue cheese, but not too much.
