Espresso Chalet – Gold Bar, Washington - Gastro Obscura

"One of the filming locations of the 1987 comedy Harry and The Hendersons also happens to be the longest-running espresso stand along Highway 2. It’s hard to miss, given that a 14-foot-tall wooden Bigfoot statue from the movie stands watch over the place. Information about local folklore of the Pacific Northwest, not to mention paraphernalia related to the furry cryptid are available in the shop. The coffee and pastries at this mother-and-daughter-run operation are great, but what really sells it is the view.  Take your latte out to the back patio for a breathtaking view of the mountains. Know Before You Go The espresso stand is open daily from 7am until early evening." - Gizmo Chaos, mdwpj

I recently had the pleasure of visiting a charming coffee stand that truly stands out in every way. From the moment I approached, I knew I was in for a treat. The location offers breathtaking views that perfectly complement the experience – it's a serene escape where you can unwind and enjoy nature's beauty while sipping on your favorite brew. I opted for the S'mores Latte and the Bigfoot cookies, and it was nothing short of amazing. The coffee stand itself is a gem – cozy, inviting, and brimming with character. It's clear that the owners have put their heart into creating a welcoming atmosphere. The service was friendly and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable.

The location is perfect to hangout, relax and take a little break from driving or hiking. The mountain view is beautiful. They have drive-thru option as well. Many bakery items, frozen sandwiches, lots of snacks, egg nog and various flavors for coffee and tea options. I wouldn’t recommend coffee from there but the staff/owner is very friendly.

Discovering this charming little spot on the route to Leavenworth was a delightful surprise, prompting a stop on my way back home post-hike. Opting for a Mocha with an espresso shot and a matcha latte, I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional taste of both beverages, even as someone not typically inclined towards mocha or coffee. The affordability of the prices and the added treat of their chocolate cookie made the experience even more enjoyable. For a quick bite en route, this establishment is a must-visit. The deck offers stunning views, and the service is impressively swift. Without a doubt, a place to cherish and revisit.

A delicious destination and scenic road-side rest stop along SR-2 between Monroe and Stevens Pass. A great place to take a break to stretch the legs during a scenic ride. Paved motorcycle parking can be found at the east end of the lot, next to the snowboard-carrying Big Foot, phone booth, and portable toilets.

When traveling hwy 2, this charming Bigfoot themed coffee shop is a must stop! Sporting plenty of souvenirs as it's one of the filming locations from the classic Harry and the Hendersons. Not only are they pet friendly with a nice walk area with mountainous back drops with a waterfall across the way. It's such a nice leg stretch and the endless amounts of flavor options and a variety of milk options. I recommend being bold and trying a goat milk latte, my fave being a white chocolate B52. Be sure to try their tastes treats, especially the truffles!

Most fantastic coffee chalet yet. The coffee selections along with many other food and snacks were delicous. Cant beat the sceneic views of nature and mountains. Everyone that visits I take here and they quickly fall in love. And its Big Foot, come on! My favorite when I'm out hiking the various trails in the area.

Cute little shop next to the snow clad mountains on the way to Leavenworth. There is a deck next to the shop to take pictures in front of the mountains as well. A lot of coffee and latte options . We tried their Christmas nog latte and it was lovely. They have a drive thru as well so you can skip the line of waiting in the cold . Recommended for your quick coffee stop
