Espresso Chalet – Gold Bar, Washington - Gastro Obscura

"One of the filming locations of the 1987 comedy Harry and The Hendersons also happens to be the longest-running espresso stand along Highway 2. It’s hard to miss, given that a 14-foot-tall wooden Bigfoot statue from the movie stands watch over the place. Information about local folklore of the Pacific Northwest, not to mention paraphernalia related to the furry cryptid are available in the shop. The coffee and pastries at this mother-and-daughter-run operation are great, but what really sells it is the view.  Take your latte out to the back patio for a breathtaking view of the mountains. Know Before You Go The espresso stand is open daily from 7am until early evening." - Gizmo Chaos, mdwpj

Stumbled upon this Espresso Chalet on a highway drive and was wowed by the experience. The views of the Cascades are gorgeous from the back deck, making even a simple coffee feel special. The staff are friendly and helpful. Their quirky Bigfoot, Sasquatch-themed charm gives it character. It’s a memorable little coffee stop you won’t regret.

Lots of cool scenery off the highway. This place seems to get a lot ok flak for the owner being cranky, but I didn’t experience that at all! Be respectful, only utilize resources if you’ve made a purchase, and have a good time- seems normal for a business to me! Coffee was good! The Bigfoot cookie was even better.

Quaint little cosy cafe along the highway! Decorated with big foot statues and fake audio to enhance the atmosphere :) got the iced lavender mocha and it was not bad! Few seating with beautiful viewpoint overlooking a waterfall!

It's such a cute coffee shop with some of the BEST views of the mountains. Make sure to carve out some time to stop here if you are coming during the weekend as it DOES get quite busy. I stood in line for about 10 minutes to order our coffees. Afterward, we sat in the gazebo they had out back and enjoyed the views.

Nice little pit stop on the way to Leavenworth! The coffee is okay, but not amazing. They do have a ton of latte and mocha options. Plus, they’ve got a nice space in the back where you can sit and enjoy. The staff is super friendly too!

Espresso Charlet is absolutely a 5/5 experience! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere makes you feel welcome and relaxed. The waiting area is thoughtfully designed comfortable, stylish, and perfect for enjoying your coffee while you take a break or catch up on some reading. The coffee itself is outstanding rich, bold, and crafted with real attention to detail. Every sip feels satisfying and consistent. On top of that, the staff are friendly, attentive, and really add to the positive vibe of the place. It’s not just a coffee shop, it’s a spot where you can enjoy both quality drinks and a fabulous environment. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great cup of coffee and a cozy, well-kept space to unwind.

Cute little coffee shop. Service was slow since only 2 workers. Coffee was amazing. We had latte. Worth the wait! Unfortunately it was cloudy so can't really see the view. Will come back!

This place was amazing!! Great views & coffee. They have a lot of Bigfoot merch & seating. The restrooms are outdoor poties (heads up). In the photo are buttersquatch iced coffee & vanilla iced latte over coconut milk.
