This spot has been our family’s go-to in Byron for years and it honestly never misses. It’s one of those places you keep coming back to (basically every day) because everything is just consistently good. The coffee is always spot on, the food is fresh, creative and super tasty, and the vibe is relaxed but buzzing in the best way. Whether you’re popping in for a quick coffee or sitting down for a delicious brunch, it always feels easy and welcoming. The staff are so lovely and kind… very easy to see why this place has stayed a local favourite for so long. If you’re in Byron, Espresso Head is definitely a must :))

We stumbled upon this gem while searching for our morning coffee after an invigorating sunrise walk to the Byron Lighthouse. We’d bribed our kids with the promise of pancakes in return for waking them up pre-dawn and dragging them up the hill for the grown-up version of fun. Espressohead delivered in spades! The breakfast of eggs, bacon, and mushrooms was otherworldly, the coffee brewed to perfection, and the pancakes shamelessly plump and glazed with just the right amount of maple syrup. By the end of the meal, the entire family was drifting into a food coma, each of us savouring the remnants on our plates with slow, dreamy spoonfuls—our bellies happily stuffed and our souls utterly satisfied.

Yummy food and even yummier smoothies. Friendly and cheerful service from the lovely staff. Nice location, tucked away from the main road so nice and peaceful but still with a great buzzy vibe.

After long mornings chasing waves, this café felt like the perfect place to slow down and recharge with a double espresso a some poached eggs or a veggie mushroom and halloumi burger. The coffee is genuinely excellent — smooth, well-balanced, large in variety and clearly made by people who care about quality. It easily stands up to some of the best coffee spots back home in Europe. The food was just as impressive: fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared without being overcomplicated. Everything felt well balanced, satisfying, and ideal for refueling after a surf session. What really sets Espressohead apart, though, is the atmosphere. The staff were incredibly welcoming, relaxed, and friendly, creating a vibe that instantly makes you feel comfortable. The ambience is warm and laid-back, with just the right energy to linger a little longer. All in all, Espressohead delivers great coffee, delicious food, and genuine hospitality. A place I’d happily return to — and one I’d strongly recommend to anyone looking for quality and good vibes.

I’ve been visiting Byron annually for over a decade now, and almost every trip has revolved around one thing: the pancakes at Espressohead. Each year, I return for two reasons—first, because I’ve been craving them, and second, to confirm whether they’re still the best pancakes in the world. And when I say “in the world,” I mean it humbly—after food-tasting in over 60 countries, I can confidently say these pancakes remain unbeatable. The fluffiness, paired with the coconut cream, is just next level. Simply the best, best, best. Do yourself a favor and try them!

Today I visited Espressohead Cafe and I can't emphasize enough how great the vibe was! The staff here are truly professional, friendly, attentive and authentic. The coffee is amazing maybe one of the best I've ever had; rich, aromatic, and expertly brewed. We had a flat white with oat milk and my friend an espresso, both rich and smooth in taste. The food was good, fresh and flavory. Each dish was delicious. I had poached eggs made on point on a perfect toasted sourdough. The cozy, beachy atmosphere is perfect for relaxing and soaking in the good vibes while enjoying a meal or catching up with friends. Overall, if you're looking for a cafe with amazing staff, fantastic coffee, a good vibe and great food, look no further than! I can't wait to return!

Google
Perfect location and great atmosphere! The staff were quick and efficient- However - for $80 two breakfasts with two coffees, the food did not meet the standards! The poached eggs were very hard, “smashed peas” were completely whole and not a smashed one in sight! Flavour was ok - but both breakfast portions were very slim for the price (1 small sourdough slice). Great little place for coffee - wouldn’t recommend the food!

Google
Fantastic little independent coffee shop, proper barista who knew their coffee. Found it close to, but away from the main touristy part of Byron, clearly a bit of a hidden gem that feels authentic and where the locals are at. Food is also top notch. My girlfriend loved the smoothie! 100% recommend a visit.

Yelp
The salad was absolutely delicious and refreshing-- tons of greens. $19. The veggies tasted fresh. The chai latte was good made with fresh, local almond milk. The espresso shot was strong and pungent-- great beans. Very good. Wifi is free, which is very rare in the area, making this a great spot if you're wifi-spot hopping as I am. Clean restrooms-- also a plus and rare in the area! Some cafes don't even have bathrooms, so I think you get everything here. Service is with a smile-- very polite.

Yelp
Soy flat white was pretty average. Although the normal soy was good. The pancake was so covered in maple syrup it was too hard to use a fork. Pancake was also overlooked. Eggs were poached well but the sourdough toast was a bit hard and crusty. Interesting menu though and nice relaxed area to eat and friendly staff.
