Espuma Hotel & Restaurant

After a week of surf in Saladita with the entire family, my husband and I decided to stay in Zihua a few nights last May. We stayed at Espuma Hotel for three nights and had most of our meals on-sight. One of the best stays of my life. Despite being only three rooms (we were the only guests all three days) the service was AWESOME! The food AWESOME! The view from the rooms, pools, and restaurant… AWESOME! The AC in the room was quality and across the board the staff was so kind and welcoming. It is a 15 min walk to town but an easy stroll down hill to the malecón / but the stairs are hardcore coming back. Other than that 10/10

I am not staying at the hotel, but I did come for dinner. The previous night I had a excellent dinner at the sister restaurant; Tentaciioines, and I was hoping for the same here. Unfortunately, that did not happen. In short, the chef should be replaced. Here are the problems: - appetizer came before my aperitif (drink); the waiter made the excuse that there was a big table keeping the bar busy. He should not be making excuses. - the grilled octopus had no grill marks and looked like it was simply boiled. I remarked about this, and the waiter asked if I wanted it "overdone" - the ribeye steak was gray, no caramelization. - everything was altogether bland The level of cooking was amateur at best. Also, everything was overpriced, e.g., drinks are more pricey ($300+) than Tentaciones, which is MUCH higher end.' Shameful!

Avoid This Restaurant – Terrible Service and Dangerous Allergy Negligence I had a truly awful dining experience here on May 23, 2025 during dinner with a party of six. I had made a reservation in advance and clearly and repeatedly informed the restaurant staff that I am severely allergic to guacamole, avocado (aguacate)—a life-threatening allergy. Despite these warnings, my dietary restriction was completely ignored. A close friend of mine, a local from Ixtapa, even placed the order for me in Spanish to ensure the staff understood the severity of my allergy. I ordered the grilled octopus, explicitly without any avocado products. Shockingly, the dish was served with aguacate on it, putting my life at serious risk. In addition to this alarming oversight: 1. Food for our party of six arrived at different times, creating a disjointed and frustrating meal. 2. The octopus was not grilled as described, but rather appeared boiled and flavorless. 3. When I brought the allergy issue to the waiter’s attention, there was no apology, no concern—just indifference. 4. I asked for ice and after 15 minutes and multiple reminders, it finally arrived. Note restaurant is not busy at all at this time! Barely customers at this time. 5. No one checked in with our table for drink refills (alcoholic or water). 6. The server spilled half of my special margarita and when I asked for a new one, they simply poured it into a new glass with too much ice, making it worse. This place is completely unprofessional and unsafe, especially if you have food allergies. The staff is inattentive, the service is terrible, and the food is mediocre at best. The only thing this restaurant has going for it is the view—but it’s not worth risking your health or wasting your money. I strongly urge others to go elsewhere. There are far better places in Ixtapa where your business and safety will actually be respected.

We were just there this past weekend for my 30th birthday and it was an incredible experience, from great service (you are able to Whatsapp message a beer to your room), amazing views, and delicious food. We stayed in Lilia villa and the bathroom + room + balcony were gorgeous! I want to thank the hotel for the hospitality and great experience as we will definitely be revisiting. Thank you Luis, Carmen and all the Espuma hotel team, we had a great time from Nick and Dania :)

Restaurant review - we didn't stay in the hotel. Stunning location, good food and great service. I marked them down on the drinks - they seemed over priced and their "Best Margarita in the Universe" didn't live up to the hype. I would definitely return!

Had an amazing meal there once again! We have been many times, however this time Juan and his team went over and above. The quality of the food, and cocktails were absolutely first class, we let Juan recommend all courses and they nailed it! Going back again this week, their signature cocktail is out of this world, we both had mahi mahi done in different styles. Best we ever had! Thank you guys, and we ll see you soon. Steve and Alison

The restaurant was excellent. We had a very good meal with an excellent wine and good service. Great view also.

Amazing service and food! The home made sweet banana bread was fantastic. The pepper steak literally melted in our mouths and the lava cake was some of the best we've ever had. The view was awesome and the atmosphere was phenomenal. Very classy. Perfect for a romantic dinner for two to celebrate renewing our vows after 25 years of marriage.

If I could give more stars I would. The best, most authentic guest service that I have ever experienced. Granted it is a 3 room hotel and restaurant, but whether it was Judith the day manager or Antonio the night manager, service was impeccable. Our servers for breakfast (included) Eder and Carlos were fantastic. We saw Eder in town with his family and he went out of his way to introduce us! You can't teach this! The rooms vary in size, ours was not huge, but we'll appointed. We had the lowest room, with a deck that nearly hung out over the ocean, plus a nice private outdoor seating area. There's a common area with infinity pool, chaises, table and fully stocked kitchen! Like everywhere with a view, there are plenty of stairs. The hotel sits equal distance from town and La Ropa Beach, so it is a great location. We plan to come back with other couples and try to get all three rooms!

Incredibly beautiful and posh! Food was Devine! Service was the best! View of bay was of ultimate romance!
