I had high expectations for the Feria International of Books. Sadly, was just a bunch of libraries and stores showing up to sell their products . I had the idea of some more activities and presentation of publishers and remarkable editorials . Also, the invitation of this year was china, and the content and presentation was totally political and without any intention to be approachable . Thanks anyway. But probably won't assist more in the future .

………………..One is mesmerized by the sheer beau-tii of the condition of this antiquated impressive building which served as a grand train station built in 1912 and was such till 1987 when it was renovated and turned into a Cultural Exhibition Centre. The well maintained concrete structure with its moldered designed columns and large wrought iron and glass frontal is a real wonder. When one enters through the automatic doors you find yourself in a love-lii large foyer reception area with its high doomed arches also patterned with moldered designs. These dooms forms atrium's where the light shines through the colour tinted windows. Around the foyer there are lots of advertising material about the history of the Mapocho Station and current and future exhibitions which is to take place. On the day of our visit unfortunate-lii there was no exhibitions scheduled. So for us it was free where normal-lii one would have to pay an entrance-fee, for the wool expo the fee would have been $3.000 peso and students $2.000 peso. The next exhibition scheduled for the 21st to the 23rd June 2019 is the Wool exhibition. Once you move on through the foyer area to the very massive hall where the exhibitions are supposed to be held again one is impressed by the massive steel columns keeping up the roof. Here there are lots of small shop-fronts all with different names supposed-lii of famous people in the cultural fraternity. The only activity we found here today was a group of young people preparing for some Dinosaur display as they were donning large dinosaur-costumes. This hall is so big that they even use four-wheeled motorized polishers to clean the place. When you exit this exhibition centre you are confronted with one of the most beautiful sights ever especial-lii in winter, in the distance is the Andes range of mountains covered in pure-white snow, so awesome!...................

Busy area, lots of activities. People bustling. Heavy traffic, a few monuments nearby. Be aware for thieves especially if you have a good camera. A few good murals. Former train station at hand but pretty much closed. Nice architecture inside if you appreciate this kind of thing

This empty building is one of the most fascinating architectural atmosphere. Nothing needs to be happening to have a great experience visiting. It is almost as you would walk through some history unexplained yet felt under your skin.

Seems to be one of the best museums in Santiago, I just didn't enter the gallery, but the building is beautiful... promising!

Have been here for large events like Sensation White and also FILSA (Feria International del Libro Santiago) and love this space. It’s huge and beautiful - love the ceilings.

Beautiful and historic building with intricate carvings and paintings. Colonial style building and ambience. Neat and clean surroundings.

Yelp
Estación Mapocho was once a train station. Today, this huge place hosts a variety of cultural events throughout the year. From art exhibitions to animatronics...once it even hosted a Monster Truck show! You just have to stay alert and hear the news or you may miss pretty cool stuff. The central hall is where the action happens, but it also has permanent restaurants. Also, you can walk underground where you can find another big hall. A very important recommendation: if you wish to go, you have to be careful, because it's located in a complicated sector. You may be a victim of theft outside the Station.

Yelp
This mighty edifice, with its trio of two-story arches framed by intricate terra-cotta detailing, is as elegant as any train station in the world. The station was inaugurated in 1913 as a terminus for trains arriving from Valparaíso and points north, but steam engines no longer pull in here. A major conversion transformed the structure into one of the city's principal arts and conference centers. The Centro Cultural Estación Mapocho houses two restaurants, a café, and a large exhibition hall and arts space. The cavernous space that once sheltered steam engines now hosts musical performances and other events.
