Estaminet La Taverne Flamande

Just reopened with new owners (three brothers). Tastefully redecorated, retaining the regional feel, which is reflected in the food. The beef cheeks in aspic were super, the tripe really good, as was the salad. A delicious local pork dripping (smout) is served in place of butter. Chips were top Flemish quality. Lupulus, Anosteké and St Bernardus Triple on tap, plus a good selection of bottles, all at decent prices. It would be nice to see the bar being more utilized for customers who just want a drink, as this is what differentiates a true Estaminet from a restaurant.

We were a bit dubious going back to La Taverne as the last time about a year ago we felt it wasn't very good, but the food was very good this time round.

Fantastic for visitors from the UK. Wonderful local dishes and great staff. The view is not too bad either!!

Pretty bad food, got sick after eating it in the evening and was sick for a whole day. Waterzooi wasnt prepared how it should be normally its a soup with chicken vegetables and potatoes, here it was chicken with a thick sauce and fries. The carbonade was to much watery or thin. the vlees potje was so cold it propably just came out of the freezer. I highly recommend that the health inspection would check this restaurant and that it gets closed.
