3 Best Day Trips from Buenos Aires | Condé Nast Traveler

"Motoring down the extensive drive, fields and trees occupying the flat land, it appears this will truly be a rural retreat—and a place to recharge yourself. At the colonial mansion turned boutique hotel, guests can hack across the estancia, go trekking, take a carriage ride, go bird-spotting, or sunbathe by the swimming pool." - Sorrel Moseley-Williams

You arrive down an unpaved road to the most immaculate, stunning estancia an hour and a half outside BA. We had had a full on trip around Argentina and our stay here was a tonic to end our holiday with. I knew it was going to be memorable as we were met on arrival by a gaucho on horseback to escort us down the drive! The grounds are beautiful and calming and the attention we received from the staff was second to none. We loved the horse riding (thank you to Juan Marten and Eduado) and the empanada cooking lesson (thank you Lolo) and every meal was delicious. Not knowing anything about Polo, it was fascinating watching a couple of games and exploring the wonderful stables. The horses are so well looked after and we never tired of watching them be exercised and cared for. We met like minded travellers and in a dinner party atmosphere, they quickly became friends from all round the world. We loved that! Thank you to lovely Lulli, Daniel, Millie, Delfi, Andrea, Fran and all the rest of you whose names I am not sure of. I felt a bit tearful as we were waved off. You must go! What a unique experience and now back in the UK, it feels like a dream.

One of a kind establishment where you can have horse back riding, dinner parties and asado bbq in one place. Staff is incredibly warm and kind (and very English friendly). It’s quiet and peaceful out there full of nature. Getting there is a bit of a trek including a poorly paved road but once there you are in a different world You do share meals with other guests unless you opt out but that is half of the fun as you share lunch, pre dinner drinks, and dinner all at set times as well as tea and breakfast if you happen to be there at same time. Be prepared for bugs though this being nature but I would come back!

A lovely estancia with luxurious accommodation and food. Very friendly and helpful staff. Several different activities on offer, swimming in the unheated outdoor pool, too cold when we were there, carriage rides, horse riding around the parkland. polo grounds and bikes are also available. There are sometimes small groups of day visitors with entertainment laid on from them. A lovely place to relax and recover from a long haul flight. A 20 minute drive from the famous Gaucho town of San Antonio De Areco, well worth a visit.

We spent two nights at La Bamba and had a wonderful time. We were traveling from the states to see our college aged son who is studying in Buenos Aires. La Bamba arranged for car service to pick us up in BA and take us to the estancia, which was expensive, but made getting there easy. All the meals are included and happen frequently (lunch at 1:30pm, tea time by the pool at 5pm, cocktail hour at 7:30pm, dinner at 8:30pm and breakfast from 8:30-10am). The bedrooms are beautiful. The interior design of the common areas is stunning. The best part are the other guests, who were all very interesting - during our 48 hours we had meals with travelers from the US, Mexico, Germany, Switzerland and Argentina. We also went horse back riding, caught some fish, visited the small town, relaxed. Birds are amazing! It's pricy for Argentina, no doubt, but we thought it was worth it. Hot Tip: Two nights is enough, especially if you arrive at 11:30am (check in).

We came up from Buenos Aires to the day and spent it horseback riding, having a very hearty lunch (so delicious) and then watching a gaucho show. ||The facilities are very well maintained and horses are very well care for. Service from the staff (Mili) was excellent and thoroughly enjoyed the day. Only wish is I could have stayed a few nights

Wow! Very luxurious, food incredible, a fabulous experience. This is not a cheap option but it was a fabulous choice to relax and enjoy amazing hospitality. ||Friendly and attentive staff, incredible food (lunch grill was amazing) with barbecue, afternoon tea and formal evening meal where you share tables and stories with other guests from around the world. A turn down service, lots of activities (we took a trip to the local town), swimming pool and friendly dog. Everything was done very well.||Probably the best hotel I have ever stayed in.
