Planned Mother's Day down in Orlando so that the family can get together. We've seen Estafan before and wanted to give it a try. We were a bit disappointed in our visit.
Since the family was coming from different locations, we took separate cars. 3 of the 5 of us were there with the other 2 a few minutes away. I decided to check in with the host on time. The host told us that we couldn't check in until all parties were there. Told me to check back in when all was there. While I understand the pary rule, what about some courtesy regarding the greeting? How about a Happy Mothers Day to my wife? A few minutes later, the party all there, went up to check in again. Same cold response, this time he said that they are running a few minutes behind. Okay, I get it. It is Mother's day. 30 minutes, and no response from him. Finallly I approached him again. He told me that the table was getting cleared. A few more minutes, he told us we could go in. Now, we've been standing outstide in Orlando for 45 minutes. Not exactly comfortable weather.
Inside we went. We had to wait a few more minutes until the table was ready and then we were greeted by hostest who wished us a Happy Mothers Day before we were seated.
Our waiter was okay. But, with the load music, could barely hear what he was saying. His service was decent, but not overly attentive. He made some recommendations, and perioidically checked on us.
On to the food. At least that was a highlight. We had the sampler platter which was good. The bacon wrapped platains were also good. Everyone enjoyed their main courses.
We thought about having dessert, but we were still pretty annoyed at our experience.
My scoring:
- Initial Greeting - 1
- Seating and ambiance - 3 vibrant place.
- Sound- 1 just too loud
- Food - 4
- Service - 3
- Overall,-- 3 Given that it was Mothers day and they were busy.
