Fantastic setting. Comfortable accommodation and very friendly and helpful staff. Proximity to cable car a huge bonus.Mostly serious hikers and nature lovers! A Quiet town with much less noisy tourists Not the typical “selfie takers” destination where people sit around and hike as little as possible. Most recommendable.

Gimmelwald was absolutely breathtaking and Esther's was very wonderful. Fully stocked kitchen so we were able to make some meals which was great as we came in the off season and many things were not open. Laundry service was very helpful for our long trip. The views were outstanding. Esther's was very clean and organized and quiet (again, off season). Our room had a lower ceiling than expected so I did hit my head a few times but that's mostly my own lack of spatial awareness.

We loved this place. Our room was very large, clean, quiet, comfortable, and had a beautiful view. Although the bathroom was "shared," there was no one in the other room so we had it to ourselves. There was even a kitchen if we wanted to cook and free tea and coffee 24/7. We requested the breakfast for an extra fee and it was well worth it since there were no grocery stores or restaurants available without taking a cable car to the next village. |Best of all, Gimmelwald is beautiful! I highly recommend Esther's Guesthouse.

This is my 4th stay at Esther’s Guesthouse. It will certainly not be my last! I just love it here. |I spent a lot of my time this trip just sitting on the porch, watching the mountains, sipping a cup of coffee. |The Guesthouse has always been impeccably clean and very comfortable. This time I stayed in room 6. (Each time I stay in a new room I think, oh! This is my favorite! I have lots of favorites now.)|The beds in each room I’ve stayed in have been very comfortable. Room 6 was no exception. |Tobias and his wife and crew do a wonderful job making you feel at home. Their kindness is remarkable. |The kitchen is well stocked and always clean. I made myself a little breakfast each morning with fresh eggs I bought in a barn down the road and pastries and fruits I bought at the Coop in Mürren. Delicious!|Booking directly with the Guesthouse has always been a flawless process for me. |If you are looking for a relaxing place to come and explore this beautiful area, this is the place.

We enjoyed our time here. Rooms are simple, clean, and well stocked and it’s super convenient to the lifts and hiking trails. Food can be a little limiting in Gimmelwald and you need to plan ahead: local places close by sell basic items (milk, eggs, sausage, and cheese) and there’s a COOP up the hill to buy more items but you’ll need to take the cable car up to Mürren. The breakfast at the guesthouse is hardy but quite expensive. Make sure you clarify the number of people attending because they will charge you for the total number of people staying and not the number of people sitting down for breakfast (they clearly ignore their own directions stated on their website that it costs 20 CHF PER PERSON). We were charged an additional 20 CHF for our daughter who was ill that morning. Suggestion for owners: it might be better to stock breakfast items in the fridge for guests staying in the apartments when breakfast is requested. Breakfast was the one part of our stay here that we felt the owners failed to inform us of expectations or respect our requests.

Our second stay here. It is truly a slice of heaven. Tobias and Francheska are amazing. You will not meet nicer people. They honored a 5 year old credit we had due to covid not allowing us to return. Beautiful village with just amazing hiking all around. Always spotlessly clean rooms. Love this place!!

We were last minute screwed over by the mountain hostel. With no place to go we stumbled upon esters guesthouse and were able to stay here for the night. They were so nice and helpful and everything was so clean and spacious. Tobias was so kind and we loved talking with him about gimmelwald. I hope to be back one day

We loved being in the quiet little village of Gimmelwald--the mountains are literally outside your window (see photo)! The cable car ride every day was stunning and so fun. We ate dinner in Murren or one of the other towns when sightseeing so didn’t consider it bothersome to be further out though I was glad we were there for four nights. The shared kitchen is very large and accommodating and normally I wouldn't care for a shared bath experience but it worked out very well as all guests were accommodating and so friendly. Our apartment (4) was large with a good-sized table so you could prepare your food in the kitchen but eat in our room if you preferred.

Yelp
Esther's B&B came highly recommended, and rightly so. It's been family-run for quite some time. The rooms (I saw 2: mine with a single bed, and my friends' with 2 singles, a double, and a sofabed) are a nice mix of rustic feel with modern conveniences. Some rooms have a shared bathroom, others have private ones. There's a communal fridge and cooking space available. Patio & deck areas are well-maintained. It's just an all around well run little spot in a lovely part of the world. I would happily return to Esther's.
