Estiatorio Platanos

If I could, I would give this restaurant 12 stars - not just 10 or 5! Everything was absolutely perfect. Mr. Panos and his wife are truly wonderful people. One evening, even though the kitchen had already closed, he still welcomed us warmly and served us dinner. We ate at Platanos Restaurant almost every day during our stay, and I can confidently say they serve the best pork—genuinely local and full of flavor. I also want to point out that their current rating of 4.0 is simply not fair—they definitely deserve a much higher score! When we return to Kefalonia, we will absolutely be coming back to Platanos. Thank you so much for all the delicious meals. You made our vacation truly special with your amazing food, warm hospitality, and great energy! 🤗

If one word could describe the place the word will be - Amazing! Food - amazing, atmosphere - authentic, portion size - big, service - very good. Taste of the food - one of the best I've tried in Greece. The owner is amazing - he is doing everything, he knows his menu, he can tell you what to try, based on one perfect thing - to eat more. I've ordered fish of the day and he suggested the one with more meat on ti. Perfect. The Greek and the Tuna Salad were amazing, there was those zucchini balls - out of this world. But for me the best was for dessert, literally. The portokalopita (orange pie with ice cream) was the best I've ever tried. And I am eating this everywhere in Greece. I am amazed this place has only 4.0 rating, for me it is 5 of 5 and this is because there is no option to give more. If you are in Asos - try it. If we had the time we would definitely return for another dinner.

We had our favourite meal of our trip here. Every item we ordered was superb and fresh and had fantastic flavour. Special mention also needs to be given to the owner, who knows his menu inside out and has a real passion for his business and craft which is evident in every interaction he has. He gave each table such special care and attention, and just created such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Without a doubt would give it more stars if I could and will be going back!

Loved this place! The food was delicious and authentically Greek. It is set right in the middle of the square in Assos, so had a really nice and relaxed atmosphere! And the staff were really nice and attentive!

Fantastic food at a lovely family run business. I really don't understand the negative reviews. I went here on multiple occasions and the food was excellent every time. The crispy suckling pig and the lamb with lemon and yogurt were sensational. The place gets very busy so a little patience should be shown to these lovely people. Highly recommended.

A lovely restaurant in Assos town where the owner and staff are super friendly. The food was delicious (we had the lamb stifado and the red snapper) and the service exceptional. Given that the weather had turned wet and stormy, this restaurant was an absolute joy, and extra special thanks to our lovely waitress. Highly recommended!

Definitely the best restaurant in Assos, probably on the whole island. We ate there every night. Super friendly, always smiling staff. Traditional Greek menu, and with lots of vegetarian options. The veg briam was so good I had it every time. All the other dishes we had were delicious as well.

Tasty food in a lovely square. We had lamb and kid goat — both really good. The orange tart with ice cream was a nice surprise. Simple, local, and just what you’d hope to find in a quiet summer village. Would come back!
