Great place, highly recommend. The outdoor garden is fantastic. Drinks a good price too. We returned multiple times during our short stay in Krakow. Wide range of cocktails (we had Aperol Spritz & Aperol Negroni) but also beer (lager) and natural wine. All well priced.

Another dim and charming hideout in Kazimierz but with a lovely summer garden in the back that opens up when the weather gets warm. Vines cover the fence under the cluster of sun umbrellas, and there are usually fresh flowers in a little pitcher on each table. Coffee is served in mismatched elegant thin teacups. If it's not warm enough for the garden, concentrate instead on the deliciously creepy vintage children's portraits on the walls. Moreso even than lots of bars in Kazimierz, this place seems to come from a slightly different time or dimension.

The garden in the back is lovely to have a beer in on a warm afternoon/evening. You just need some luck, as there is self-service and you may have to wait for a long time to get your drinks.

When it comes to finding somewhere dark and modest, where you can sit and brood in brown solitude or be merry with other actual people over a good ol' beer or four, Eszeweria is definitely floating up there with my favourites for this particular genre of drinking holes. Complete with decent prices, an extensive and eclectic smoking area (like blondes, it seems that smokers have more fun, when it comes to Eszeweria, that is). The style itself is akin to most of the places you find in Kazimierz: dimly lit, candle wax mottling the table tops, to the extent that I occasionally think that there is an unspoken competition ensuing between different bars in the jewish district to see who can staple the highest number of juxtapositions and 1930's paraphernalia to the walls. However, I cannot deny that I do love that atmosphere, because it can also strip away a good amount of pretentiousness from the clientele, which makes the experience all the more enjoyable. Okay I do seem to be deviating from the point slightly now. In a nutshell, if you happen to be in Kazimierz and you find yourself becoming angry over the ridiculous amount of choice sprawled out before you and you cry to the person beside you "I just want a [insert preferred beverage]. A simple [insert preferred beverage]. Somewhere I can sit and tell you all the clever things I have to say about Nietzsche." Then head to Eszeweria.
