"A Simple Cafe White interiors can appear stark and sterile. But when done right, white can evoke a sense of calm in a city that never sleeps. ethos, located at the Hong Kong University MTR stop, is the perfect example of this. Coupled with strong coffee and a menu of brunch and lunch favourites, this place is ideal for a weekend breather. Delicious coffees aren't the only thing that keeps Hong Kong's coffee-loving hip crowd coming back, though - just adjacent is its lifestyle shop, which is equally low-key and simply decorated to allow the products to shine. Come back often to see new brand collaborations and to enjoy Hill Road's quietness."

Not just another cafe. Nice minimalist decor tucked around a quiet area near HKU. The owner came and talked about her experiment of a beer espresso mix drink. Food menu is well thought out. Tried out the quiche and the 'surf n turf' croissant and both were above expectations.

A hidden gem in Sai Ying Pun and a cafe I ♥ the most in this neighborhood. They provide a variety of boutique coffees ranging from piccolo latte to flat white and cappuccino. Their baristas wouldn't disappoint you as they are really good at making quality coffees. Also, they now offer set meals at lunchtime on top of their food on a la carte menu. I especially love their homemade black truffle pasta, with its strong and authentic taste of truffle that stimulates my taste buds 😋 It's definitely one of my top 3 favorite cafes in this district and I keep visiting 😀

Great place to work or have small talk with friends. The cafe is small, staff is nice and interior is relaxing. Their main come with a starter-on our day it is mushroom soup, one of the best in town! Spaghetti is nice as well. Coffee is balanced (fruitty-nutty), ok this time. p.s. 10% service charge applied

Gave it 4 stars before but have to adjust down the rating. Have been eating here before COVID where you can get a reasonable meal set, with soup and main and coffee for under $150. Recently they just become a bit pricy -- they no longer offer set meal, so a lunch with black coffee would be over $200 (I don't mind skipping the soup). Since there are many options around this area which offer set meal under $150, and food quality were quite similar, I no longer see a reason to visit here, hence the 3 star.

If in the in the neighbourhood, well worth a look in at the very interesting products for sale and the cafe section is lovely too although can be very busy on a weekends. Doors are not auto and there is a step up. So strollers and wheelchairs will need assistance

One of the best places for coffee and food in Sai Ying Pun. It's great for brunch or a normal lunch as they also serve pasta. Try their cakes as well!

Amazing ! Coffee was above average and food was soooo goood! I loved both sour dough and tom yum pasta! Sourdough was very soft comparing to other brunch cafes so if you like hard ones, u might not like it as much as i did.

This cozy café locates at the corner and quite close to HKU campus. Its Affogato is the panacea to comfort my temper under this hot and humid weather. Sadly, there are no sofa seats inside and the industrial inner design is not my cup of tea. Avocado toast is a banal item.

Yelp
Love the place. I like high ceiling and IKEA sorta European kinda style design. The big windows allow maximum sun light and it is a quite environment to have a meal or a chat with friends. The staff are also very friendly. I ordered their Carbonara, and loved it! it is creamy and good portion for 1. I also ordered a pot of chamomile rose tea, and it is aromatic. The cappuccino is beautifully made as well, the swan on it made my day. =) WIll definitely go again. Closest station is HKU station.

Yelp
Minimalist decoration, good coffee and nice staff! They also have a concept store next to the restaurant/coffee shop.

Yelp
Horrible customer service and subpar, overpriced coffee. We walked in bright and early on a Sunday- several items on the menu weren't available that we wanted. So one of decided not to order them the kicked us out because each person needs to order a meal... even though the place had no other patrons and it never gets packed. We were kind of chased out of the restaurant. They also don't offer many items for pregnant women. But the worse was their customer service - I've never been treated so badly especially by a place that's called ethos... don't come in.
