Stayed recently for an event in Oxford. The hotel is about a 20 minutes walk from the train station. I arrived before the check-in time but had phoned the hotel in advance to see if I could work somewhere as I had an afternoon teams meeting. The hotel is based on either side of the road and one side has a café and I was able to work from there. The cafe prices are a little high, but it was a convenient spot to plug in and work.
After check-in, I was shown to my room. This was just down the road and is more like a studio flat as it had a kitchen area with fridge, microwave, plates and glasses.
The room was a decent size and well equipped with a comfortable bed. My first impressions were that it looked very clean, however it was let down by me finding cobwebs and spiders in most corners of the room, plus dust on the window frames. The cleaners clearly do a good general job of cleaning the rooms however, the small attention to detail needs some improvement. There were two bottles of water in the fridge and some biscuits on the counter.
Whilst I was attending an event and so didn't eat in the hotel, they do a reasonable selection of food, although it's mainly centred around pizza.
Breakfast was served in the cafe, which gets quite cramped when a few people are coming down for breakfast at the same time. It was also very cramped when I tried to check out as the counter is right by somebody's table where they were eating and they didn't look too impressed and having somebody stand right by the side of them.
Overall a good hotel in a convenient location for the town centre, just slightly let down by the level of cleaning.
