Where To Get Lunch In Midtown East

"If you don’t want to eat lunch at your desk, but you also shouldn’t be away from your desk, go to Pathos Cafe, an all-day Mediterranean spot that’s less commitment than most sit-down lunch spots, but still nicer than fast-casual options. The bright corner space a few blocks north of the UN has sidewalk seating, where you can get fresh-air while eating a salad with calamari, shrimp, and octopus, or a flatbread with tons of prosciutto, arugula, and melted mozzarella." - hannah albertine, bryan kim, matt tervooren

Delicious food, everyone enjoyed their meal. My salmon was prepared really well and not over cooked. Nice ambiance with low volume groovy music. Menu is a little steep tho.

Came during work lunch hour. The food portion varies I wish the fries were crispy, and wish the service was faster. Other than that, everything was delicious and nice ambient. Felt like on vacation and relaxing. Would love to go back again.

I had a group dinner here. The entire table thought the food was meh. More specifically, the ingredients weren't very fresh or well done for this price point. I ordered a ribeye and it tasted more like a skirt steak. Half the table didn't finish their food. And to top that off it took us probably 25 or 30 minutes to pay the bill because they were rigid and didn't want to split the check. Plus they had a rule that they could only take four credit cards. We are in a high-tech world and there should be a way for us to easily pay for our own items, especially in a mixed crowd.

2nd visit update, Sept24: The wines are absurdly marked up, like 400% or more. It’s enough to keep me away. It left me feeling ripped off. I had the moussaka again, nothing wrong with it but I just didn’t love it. The saganaki was good but $19 for a piece of gooey cheese is a little crazy. Same for the loukaniko which is $20 for sausages. The place looks very busy, filled with much older upper east side types. It’s a nice room and the service was efficient but a little crisp. I kinda felt that we were being rushed out although there were still empty tables. 1st visit, Feb24: Nice midtown east Greek restaurant, service was friendly and efficient and everyone enjoyed their meals.

This is a very nice hidden gem to eat at! The service is outstanding, the atmosphere is very nice. I am a very picky eater, but was very satisfied with this food! The food was very well prepared and aesthetically pleasing. This is for sure a fine dining experience. I highly recommend eating here! This would be a great place to take a date!

Google
One of my favorite Greek restaurants! We absolutely love dining here. Particularly in the summer, sitting outside is always such a joy. The food is always consistently perfect.

Google
Great ambience and great wine. You may need someone to interpret the menu. Luckily, the staff are helpful here. They are also friendly and attentive. I had the best bean soup for an appetiser, Angus burger with fries for main meal, and some Greek dessert whose name I have forgotten. But it was delicious! I've uploaded a photograph of it. I'd come here again.

Wanted to try someplace new for lunch with a friend. Not only is this place beautiful, it makes you feel like you are on vacation to some exotic Greek destination. Add on top of that warm and inviting service and excellent food. This is my new favorite place!

Yelp
Came back for a birthday dinner over the Thanksgiving weekend and it was another 5 Star experience. Leticia our server was GREAT!! she is friendly, welcoming, never rushed us and even though we did not order desert she brought over a birthday desert surprise. It was quiet with only a few tables as expected over the holiday in Manhattan. We started with a few glasses of Sancerre white wine along with the Ethos chips which are made of zucchini and eggplant and the Keftedes which are meatballs in a marinara sauce. For mains we had the Lavraki which is a filleted whole Bronzino. We also had the Brizola which is a char grilled 16 oz ribeye steak, along with the salmon which is served with sautéed spinach. Everything was awesome. No rush, great service, great food, good prices, great selection of wines and cocktails. They have a raw bar and the fish is very fish. They pride themselves on using the highest quality ingredients. We discovered this place about 9 years ago when I came here for a business dinner and I've always been impressed each time. I highly recommend them and I am sure you will love them.

Yelp
The setting is beautifully designed with various seating options. The food is excellent, high quality and generous portions. Delicious wine & cocktails too. The service was great, friendly people and efficient pace, but not rushed either. A+ and can't wait to go back.

Yelp
When we arrived ahead of the other two people in our party, we were asked if we'd like to wait at the bar. But as we opted instead to go outside to wait (the hostess did not want us to stand by the door, understandably, it's a small area), our companions walked in. We were seated immediately, with the choice of a table with 4 chairs or one with the banquette and 2 chairs. I'm glad for the choice as I'm never comfortable on those banquettes. We were given menus and in the next 5 or so minutes asked if we'd like drinks - twice. Then the waiter described the specials and gave us time to make our choices. When we were ready, he came back, and one of us asked for a wine recommendation. Immediately the waiter suggested one, and then persuaded us to order a bottle ($85.) as opposed to 4 glasses (@ $19. each). Made no sense to me but I was overruled. At least it was a good assyrtiko! Three of us ordered the seafood orzo; one asked for no calamari and that was no problem at all. When my husband and I got ours, we told her she'd made a good choice as the calamari in the dish was a bit rubbery - but overall that seafood orzo dish was really very delicious! The fourth in our party had moussaka, beautifully presented in a white crockery bowl, almost like a soufflé dish. He didn't leave a bite and said it was very good. We all finished with tea; they brought us the box of tea and we got a plate of 3 small baklava and 1 kataif. Yummy, and just enough. We left there quite satisfied with the food and the service.

Yelp
Nice ambiance. Food is very tasty. I recommend the grilled cheese appetizer. Service fast. Great spot for lunch.

Yelp
Ethos serves delicious Greek food, but if you eat here you definitely feel like you're paying for the owner's yacht or drug habit. Everything on the menu - EVERYTHING - is about 30-35% overpriced, especially when you compare it to other Greek restaurants in NYC. A basic plate of Dolmas is over $20. Same for a plate of pita with four (4!) sauces. We had to order another round of pita to finish the sauces, a sophomoric misstep in the world of Greek dining. You'll pay almost $20 for a round of two (2!) small spanikopita !! Cocktails are almost $20, Manhattan club prices. You'll probably enjoy the food at Ethos - the ingredients are quality - but the portions are wanting, and you'll leave feeling like you were professionally ripped off., and worse, taken advantage of. Even knowing you're dining in an expensive area code, Ethos leaves you with an awful, bitter taste in your mouth!!

Yelp
One of the best places to eat Greek I've been to, although the price was a little excessive and the location nothing too aesthetically pleasing. The service was perfectly average but the wine choice and the food quality was fantastic

Yelp
I've never been to Greece, but I would imagine this is what it would look like! The decor is bright and open with deep blues hues. The pita for the table is extraordinary! There's so much flavor, I could get full off that. I ordered the Arni Youvetsi, which is baby lamb shank with orzo. It was so tender and came right off the bone. We ordered a side of asparagus too hoping to get a balance of veggies and meat. The only reason I took off a star was that it was definitely pricey, but they give complimentary dessert so that's a plus. Also, the seating is a cute idea but some seats are difficult to get into/out of. There are other table options, but we always get seated here for some reason. It's a set of wooden bench seats with cushions. After being stuffed from the meal, I certainly don't want to push benches aside to squirm out of the table. P.S. I saw Emeril Lagasse here once!

Yelp
If you're feeling for Greek and have someone to impress, this is your place! Beautiful decor, exceptional service, and truly amazing food. Always a wonderful experience.

Yelp
A nice place for lunch. We liked the spanakopita, pita and dips, moussaka generously filled with meat, the tomato salad. Service was efficient. At lunch time the restaurant can get a little noisy. It is a popular spot for lunch.

Libby M.

Yelp
Genuinely one of the best meals I've had in NYC!! Also lots of gluten free options which was nice. The chicken was the most well seasoned chicken I've ever had in my life. They even gave us a free little dessert at the end!

Yelp
Really nice place - great ambiance - food and amazing service. Pleasantly surprised as we just walked by.

Yelp
Had a really good experience here. Very fresh food and friendly staff. However, menu was a bit limited but that could be due to my lack of knowledge for Greek cuisine

Yelp
Worst service ever! Sat at the bar on Tuesday night. The restaurant wasn't crowded. The bartender never came by to take our order. The AC wasn't running. Restaurant was hot. Never got water or menus. Waited over 20 minutes and decided to leave. Turns out it's the bartender's 3rd day. She needs to get fired for her lack of customer service! Not once did she asked if we need anything. We flagged her down but she ignored us. She was the only bartender. Never going back! We can spend our money elsewhere!! Avoid at all costs! Don't waste your time or money here!!! Bye Felicia!!!!

Yelp
i am writing this review exclusively regarding a bad experience due to rude and unprofessional service. While the food and most of the servers are excellent, there was one person, who managed to ruin an experience that could have been perfect. We frequent this place often, and the manager, Celso, is so efficient and friendly. However, Maisha, who I assume is the assistant, decided to ignore a very specific table reservation, that was in the computer and confirmed in person. The table, which had been reserved for a special occasion, was given to 2 woman (it had been reserved for 5). She not only refused to ask them to move (it was 6:30 and no food had been served), but answered rudely to our insistence. Celso made up for the behavior but it left a sour taste to a usually wonderful meal.

Yelp
Although the food is very good, if not a little bit pricey in some areas, the one star is because of their business practice relating to gratuities. An automatic gratuity was added to the smaller sized itemized bill only, for a party of four. The normal receipt to which you would add your gratuity was the one that we used to leave a gratuity. When I tried via telephone later that evening to bring it to the manager's attention, a young lady said he would deduct it from the total and call me back. Neither was done. I called a second time a week later and received the same response.....nothing!

Yelp
Great food, reasonable priced. Venue is cute and Grecian, and hip. Try the dips, and get extra pita

Yelp
Gorgeous decor, generous portions, and a chef who actually knows how to cook fish. What more could you ask for? Ethos is a lovely addition to midtown East.
google avatar

Marcus S.

Yelp
It was fine but expected a bit higher quality for the price. Their menu focuses quite a bit on seafood, but the calamari and shrimp in the seafood orzo were a bit overcooked and tough/chewy. The galaktoboureko was unfortunately dry and not the greatest end to our meal. On the plus side, service was prompt and friendly, they have nice outdoor tables, and the complementary pita with hummus and olives was a nice touch.
google avatar

Yelp
Very nice place. The place is well put together. Staff was excellent. Place was very clean as well. The specials I must say were lovely. We had the white snapper for the table. The only reason it's not 5 stars was the side portions were small. But none the less delicious!!! And the beer was def needed to be colder. I will be back because the food is just that good.

Yelp
I love their calamari, lamb and fish dishes. My favorite is the grilled octopus over fava bean purée. I have probably eaten here hundreds of times. However, I ordered some spanikopita and calamari last night and it was terrible. Costco has better frozen spanikopita. The calamari looked and tasted like it was made at a carnival. Flabby unseasoned rings. This is not ethos gallery 51 quality food and it baffles my mind why they would destroy their reputation during the time (covid19) when restaurants should be showcasing the quality of their food and not pushing out substandard meals to "suckers" stuck at home. Very unfortunate. $40 for a terrible meal!

Yelp
This place is the perfect date spot. They just reopened after being closed for a bit. The food was excellent my favorite was the zucchini balls called kolokithokeftedes . The lamb chops were a must have even as a table appetizer (feeds 4)if you don't feel like having it as your main. The cheesecake was absolutely the best cheesecake I've ever had. Don't forget to order the calamari they make it so light and crispy . The staff was very attentive. Their cocktails are also very good I can't wait to come back even their bar area looks like a fun hang out spot.

Yelp
Delicious Greek food with a strong dating ambiance. Its a bit pricey but well worth balling out for. Roughly $30-$50 a dish. 5/5 stars as a dinner spot.

Yelp
I've lived in the area for many years and finally tried this place a week or so back. I really enjoyed my meal here and will absolutely be back! We started off splitting one of the salads. I don't remember exactly what it was called but it was romaine with dill, feta and I think scallion or something similar. Was really good - lightly dressed and the feta was soft and creamy. Really liked it. I will say that looking around the place their traditional Greek salad looked like it would be even better, despite how much I liked what we got. For the main I had one of the sea bass options (I'm doing really bad remembering the names of things). It seemed like a branzino but I think was called something different. Regardless it was really good. Perfectly prepared and was clearly extremely fresh. My fiancée had the seafood orzo which was also delicious - I loved the sauce. Had a great meal here - only negative is it's a tiny bit overpriced but I still will absolutely be back!

Yelp
Loved this! Came here with a big group to celebrate my husband's birthday. It was a group of 11 of us and we all got a table in front of the chef. The restaurant has a clean classic look. Light, open space that reminds me of the Mediterranean. The chef was in the middle of the room and he taught us how to grill fish, Greek style, and how to make a real Greek salad. He also gave us some tips and tricks that only kitchen pros would know - and we all walked away with a lesson or too. He was entertaining. Our party had people with many food restrictions, but the menu was perfect for all of us. There was even a chocolate moss option for those of us who are gluten free. It was rich and tasty. Everyone wanted some. The food was fresh, tasted great and our friends were happy about the educational dinning experience. At the end the restaurant blasted YMCA for my husband's birthday as they brought a sparkler for him to make a wish. It was great value and an experience I would recommend to others. Must try.

Yelp
For the prices charged here, the food should really be much better. The chicken kebab was tough and the fries soggy. I actually could not finish it. I mentioned this to the waitress and she just gave me an "I'm sorry". No offer to replace or subtract from bill. It's a nice space and the bar tender was nice, but I've had better diner food. My friend's shrimp was also subpar.

Yelp
Stopped by last night to have a late night dinner with my boyfriend. We sat at the bar and were attended by Sarah who was great. We had the lavraki fish which was fresh as they lay out all their fish and lobster from the menu out in display for guests to choose from. We shared the lavraki with a side of lemon potatoes and spinach rice. Everything was soooo amazing. The fish tasted so fresh the lemon potatoes were just phenomenal. My boyfriend got the peach tea one of their signature cocktails and it was perfect. Not too sweet. I had my original voda soda nothing crazy. We got a Greek dessert which was accompanied with some chocolate moose. Ugh sooo delicious. We finished we a shot of limoncello to end our night. Everything was just amazing would definitely come back. Thank you Sarah for your amazing service ;)

Yelp
I have been here several times in the past. We live downtown and decided to eat somewhere different and away from our area so we went to Ethos. Still excellent in my opinion. Food and atmosphere were great and service was amazing. Don't understand why the low rating, but I will definitely go back.

Art K.

Yelp
Great tasting, quality and portion sizes of Greek/Mediterranean food. We came here on a whim as we were visiting family and we were not disappointed. The service was excellent and attentive, which when coupled with a casual and contemporary environment and the food made for a great dinner out in NYC.

Yelp
Exuberant place to dine. This place has a lot of energy. I wasn't expecting it to be a nice of both stellar food and firework sparklers and loud music interludes to signal celebration. It was fun and made the experience not just one-dimensional dining. The food was filling, flavorful, and makes me want to come back. The grilled octopus was tender, slightly grill, and zesty with lemon. Mmmmm. Halloumi cheese was damn good. Ethos chips with tzatziki get a thumbs up too. The bronzino was flaky and fresh. Delicate and moist. The lamb chops were cooked perfectly! Nice simple seasoning to let the meat shine. Lemon potatoes were a bit underdone. The free dessert is a nice plus! Love the cake and the mousse. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Upscale, well-lit (natural lighting through the huge windows), oceanic atmosphere with wood paneled ceilings. The setting really made me feel like I was enjoying my food alongside the coast in Greece. I had the prix fixe lunch time menu ($32) and enjoyed a nice three course meal. All the food was great but the fries were surprisingly delicious. They were really crispy and herb flavored. The Greek-style meatballs were very flavorful and went well with the tomato-herbs sauce. The dessert was also a winner as it was flakey on the outside and had a doughy/chewy and sweet inside texture with an apple pie flavor.
google avatar

Ingrid H.

Yelp
This place was surprisingly good! I skimmed the reviews beforehand and there were some poor ones - but the food here is delicious. Would recommend ordering a bunch of small plates to share. The grilled octopus was my favorite. I usually don't even like octopus but they managed to make it easy to chew and so favorable. The zucchini chips were also crazy good. Super crispy/crunchy like they freshly fried them. On the other hand, calamari is usually my go-to, but in this case I wouldn't recommend it. It was nothing special for the price (tasted like what you can get at any bar). I also didn't like the greek salad the waiter recommended. Mostly because it was 90% cucumber and I don't f with cucumber. For main dishes, I got the plaki. I loved the dish but unfortunately we ordered so many small plates I was stuffed before I could get to the mains. I ended up bringing it home and eating it for the next meal - it was still good the next day :) In terms of complimentary food, you get bread (I think garlic) and dessert. The bread itself was so good! I would have eaten the whole basket but I was saving room for the small plates. Also, PSA, they blast music if it's your birthday. All in all, even the prices are a bit high, the food is delicious so if you're treating yo self, go for it.

Yelp
We went for the cooking class and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is very nice, open and bright, the waiters are very attentive and friendly and the chef was perfect. He took time explaining how to prep the food, helped those that needed it using the knife, and was super attentive. We made stuffed chicken breasts and a Greek salad. Both were easy to make and delicious. This was my husband's first experience making and eating Greek food and Ethos made him a fan. That hummus hooked him and the spinach and feta stuffing reeled him in. Thank you Ethos for making my husband's birthday celebration a hit. He was very happy and we can't wait to come back for dinner.
google avatar

Suzi H.

Yelp
Food is delicious and price reasonable, but bathroom was dirty and smelly. They should really upgrade the bathroom (clean and make it fragrant) to make it an excellent place to dine .
google avatar

Susan K.

Yelp
Glad we gave Ethos another chance. To us, the key is to go on a midweek night or Sunday night early, before the place is packed and you're forced to sit by the kitchen side of the bar Tonight (Sunday) we had an early dinner so lucked out and got a table with two chairs, instead of a banquette table. The food is very good here. So is the service. That's all we want and know both are consistent here. We had the greek salad with beautiful, ripe tomatoes. The octopus appetizer is cooked perfectly and delicious. The imam bayildi is so good. They give you bread and a hummus spread before the meal. At the end of the meal they offer a free dessert (we declined but such a nice gesture) Neighborhood gem

Yelp
They know what they are doing with sea food! Professional service, airy ambience inspite of location. The food was great! We had salmon, squid, a C fishqhose name l don't remember and all were on point! French language fits right in here.
google avatar

Yelp
Really fun dinner party atmosphere! The staff is very lively, the owner/manager is really involved and makes sure to check in with each table to make sure everything is going well. The only problem is that the restaurant is on the smaller side and it can get loud when its full, but that's not something they can really change ‍. We went for my friend's birthday and a few others at the restaurant were celebrating. They turn the lights off and turn on some party music and bring out some sparklers for each table celebrating. The food wasn't anything mind blowing, but it was fresh and natural. The greek salad was good, just cut in huge chunks. Skip the Marouli salad- its just lettuce and nothing else. The vegetable pasta was flavorful, wouldn't recommend it unless you cant eat anything else. My friend got the bronzino and raved about it! Others got the Calamari and prime steak and also said it was good. We wanted to order dessert but they told us that they bring some out on the house. Its called galaktobureko and it was the most magnificent thing I ate that whole night. It was warm, fried dough with cream inside with a side of Nutella cream/gelato. Absolutely recommended!
google avatar

Joy S.

Yelp
Great seafood here! Would highly recommend making a reservation. You could definitely order the appetizers to share as entrees because the portion size is huge. I would say 3-4 apps could easily be a meal for 3 ppl. We loved the grilled shrimp and grilled octopus (but needed more citrus). The classic Greek salad and fried zucchini chips are a must try as well. You also get complimentary bread and hummus, as well as dessert so no need to order too much.

Yelp
Menu is pricey, but the food is delicious and high quality. I love the salads and baby lamb chops. I don't drink much, but their signature cocktail is DELICIOUS and the right amount of sweetness. Please try it. If you like grilled octopus, try the octopus salad with berries. I love the beachy atmosphere, and the service was efficient. Slightly pretentious clientele. Updated to comment on the excellent $31.95 lunch prix fixe and $14.95 bottomless sangrias/mimosas/bellinis!

Yelp
I have wanted to go to this place for some time but the prices prevented me from doing so until I saw a Groupon for $59 for two people which included One appetizer per person, One entree per person, One dessert platter per couple and One glass of wine per person from a pre-fixe menu which had great choices. This was a no brainer. We went early on a Sunday evening when it was pretty empty although we were told they had nothing for an hour later. We were seated right away in the bright, open dining area. Light walls and floors with white furniture, touches of sea blue, paintings, and a hanging fixtures created a relaxing and inviting ambiance. As soon as we were seated we were brought a basket of bread with hummus, fresh and delicious. We informed the waiter we had a Groupon and needed the pre-fixe menu and were not treated any differently like others have stated. This is what we ordered: *Kavouri - Jumbo Lump Crab Meat Served with Mustard Aioli: Only disappointment in the way that it was not all jumbo lump crab. There was filler in it, some which was a bit rubbery, but still tasted great. *Garides - Grilled Jumbo Shrimp with Citrus Vinaigrette: 3 huge shrimp butterflied and grilled with a tangy and delicious marinade. *Greek Meatballs: Not part of the Groupon menu but I really wanted some and so thankful we did not pass these up! 3 luscious lamb meatballs seasoned with greek spices and that wonderful hint of cinnamon in red sauce. Outstanding!!!! *Paidakia - Grilled Baby Lamb Chops with Greek Fries: 4 nice sized savory chops grilled perfectly with super yummy fries. *Sea Food Orzo- A large bowl overflowing with fresh mussels, shrimp, and even a razor clam on a bed of orzo and topped with feta and scallions. Super delicious. * A Mixed Assortment of Greek Desserts: a shared dessert platter for two of Custard, Baklava and chocolate mousse. The custard and baklava were not overly sweet as you would expect but still excellent. The mousse was very airy light and creamy. A perfect ending to an amazing meal. Service was wonderful and the atmosphere was fantastic as the place filled up completely as they had told me when I called earlier. I would love to come back, even at their regular cost.

Yelp
We came here the evening of the Jonas blizzard of 2016. What's nice find! Because most of the city was shut down (including public transportation) the restaurant appeared to be a little short-staffed, but I don't think service suffered too much. Being one of the few restaurants opened during the blizzard, the place was packed (around 7:00 pm). Seating is a little tight. We were seated at a table towards the side wall where the tables were probably an inch between each other (they had to pull the table out for me to get seated on the bench that spanned the wall). We were served warm pita and bread (with hummus) and water upon seating. If you want tap water make sure you say so--they ask if you want still or sparkling. Both options are bottled Voss water (at $9 a pop). The menu was extensive. They have fresh fish, which is their specialty it appears. There is a seafood display towards the back of the restaurant. This is where the staff selects a fresh whole fish to take to the kitchen to be cooked. I had the aveglemono (chicken lemon soup). It was one of the best I had. It was not creamy at all (good, because that's they way it should be). It was piping hot, which was perfect for the storm. For dinner I had the kotopoulo (oregano chicken) with oven baked lemon potatoes.... Yummy! The chicken was perfectly marinated and cooked. There was enough food for two meals but I ended up eating all of it. We got complimentary dessert (galaktoboureko and Greek chocolate mousse) as did all patrons. That was a nice touch. We would definitely be back!

Yelp
Ethos might not be the most authentic Greek restaurant in NYC, but they serve up delicious Greek food that leaves you full and happy. Tzatziki and hummus are usually served on the table with pita and bread (although Ethos' hummus tastes more like tahini than hummus to me). The ethos chips (zucchini & eggplant chips with tzatziki sauce) are addicting. The Horiatiki classic Greek salad is my favorite Greek salad of all time: tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, onions, olives and feta. The vegetables are always fresh. If you're looking for a tiny chopped salad, look elsewhere. If you had room, try the spanakopita which is traditional Greek spinach and feta pie. Last time, I had the Bifteki (ground beef and lamb with fresh herbs served with Greek fries). Basically a burger without the bun. I'd skip it next time and stick to splitting appetizers. After dinner, they serve complimentary desserts. A little bit of everything, including baklava. It can get very crowded, especially on a weekend but I think it's worth the wait.

Jane M.

Yelp
Had two appetizers: octopus and Greek sausage... very tasty and well prepared. Service at the bar was good. Highly recommended neighborhood gem.

Amaury L.

Yelp
Great food top notch service for a Saturday night was empty but COVID is back in town so what isn't empty now a days salmon was so fresh and the perfect crust the potato's wow o wow we was here for a birthday and will definitely be back for date night

Lidija P.

Yelp
They charged us for every dish an extra $2. After we complained they fixed the mistake by adding more items to the bill. Third time the charm. Food is not bad, but not nearly as good as some other (less expensive) Greek places in the city though. Except for galaktobureko, that was pretty bad.

Yelp
Normally I don't write reviews. Anyway, went there to meet a friend I hadn't seen for a while and booked reservation from OpenTable. I had enough dine rewards to use and wanted to redeem my $60 worth and try this restaurant out. Was able to confirm with the manager that the rewards was valid so I was relieved. The food was okay but pricey. The staff was nice and attentive. When it came to pay, my OpenTable rewards didn't come up because the manager "checked the wrong person" so I couldn't redeem my dine rewards. I was and still am pretty upset because I came to this restaurant and confirmed with the restaurant prior to ordering. The manager said that I would just have to come back to redeem. I felt this was poor management and neglect. I did not trust the manager after this incident and when talked to felt talked down as he kept calling me "lovey". There was no way to reverse this and it has made it so inconvenient as I now have to contact OpenTable about this incident. This experience ruined the entire mood and impression of the place. Warning!!! If you have OpenTable rewards do not redeem here as you may be "improperly checked in". There are probably better Greek restaurant to go to. I am too disappointed to come back and my friend is probably also feeling the same. **Update: The manager called to apologize and to "not take it personally". How is eating at a restaurant to enjoy with friends and loved ones not personal? So when something goes wrong and it not resolved in a satisfactory manner not taken personally? A restaurant experience is personal.

Yelp
Still surprised to see 3 1/2 stars of this really average restaurant. Colleagues seem to like to have get together's here but NO for me. lol....Like I said, everything is pretty average but the price really isn't.

Yelp
Came for the first time last night for a friends birthday. Walking into the restaurant I loved the decor and seeing so many people enjoying the food/atmosphere. We were a group of 6 so we shared a few small plates (grape leaves, roasted beets, fried cheese, rolled eggplant with feta cheese and tomato sauce) and then got some main courses (moussaka and branzino). Everything was very delicious and fresh. For dessert we ordered the walnut cake and because it was my friends birthday they lowered the lights and played music as they brought it over with a sparkler. They also gave us some custard filled pastry. Looking forward to coming back in the future.

Yelp
My Godfather and I visited Ethos for dinner and we had a wonderful time! First and foremost, they were extremely accommodating because I called them to let them know I would be 15min late and I expected to be kept waiting as my punishment upon arrival. Lucky for me, Ethos is wonderful and they sat us down straight away. We started off with the octopus, stuffed eggplant with feta and french fries. I liked the eggplant the most and I wish we would have ordered more, but if we did, there wouldn't have been any space for the main course. I went for the seafood orzo and it was delicious. I can only hope I marry a Greek husband so he can cook for me like they do here! :) I'm happy that I discovered Ethos because the vibe is upbeat and happy; they certainly make you feel a star when it's your birthday, as they dim the lights and bring you a dessert with one of those sparkling candles. Be sure to check them out, you won't regret it!

Yelp
Came here with a few friends a little while back and we decided to go family-style to experience a few different dishes. To start off, walking in to the restaurant they were in the middle of one of their sparkler-bottle-music-jamz celebrations so I was thrown off a little at first by the music. Once the song ended and the lights came up I was able to get a better look at the interior and it was great! I love the white-and-wooden decor (highlighted with hues of blue) they have throughout the restaurant -- giving it this home-y but still somewhere-in-Santorini or a coastal-village type of feel. The first thing that came out was the grilled-to-perfection bread with a delicious spread of hummus that was both light and flavorful. We went for the additional sampler of spreads to try out the roe, the tzatziki, etc. and absolutely loved all of them -- probably to the point where we filled ourselves up with a little TOO much bread. For our main dishes we went with the chicken (lemon-roasted with herbed potatoes) as well as the salmon. Between the two I'd have to say we loved the chicken more because it was far more flavorful, well-seasoned, and the potatoes served as the perfect complement to the meat. Though the salmon was prepared well it was lacking a bit of flavor. Lastly, we had our galaktoboureko on the house and the pastries themselves were delish! My one complaint with the dessert was that the chocolate mousse that accompanied these pastries didn't seem to fit all that well. Given the light custard of this flaky deliciousness, it seems like a vanilla or even cinnamon-type ice cream (or maybe even a rice pudding?) would have paired better. Either way, we had an amazing time there and the nearly-hourly musical festivities (often associated with some exuberant dancing) added to the fun atmosphere. I'd definitely come back again!
