Etpison Museum

A very good museum, some very interesting pieces and fascinating stories. No photos allowed, which is understandable when you see some of the private tribal photos etc. a set of whale bones upstairs too. Great shells, history and modern cultural exhibits.

Pros - The displays were decent. Some interesting stuff about the history of early settlers and discoveries. - Quite intrigued to discover about the postpartum bathing rituals amongst Palauans. Cons - $10 per entry for such a tiny single story display was a bit of a rip off. - I’ve been to countless museums around the world. This is the first time I’ve ever heard about prohibition of photo taking. It’s only allowed at 2 small sections in the building. Funny… - Gift shop is just ok. Yes it’s big. But nothing too interesting. Depends on what you’re looking for.

I liked the exhibition. Interesting information in regards to the labour and post care after the baby is born in Palau and their traditional customs. The shop above is OK, I am still on the hunt for some high end giant clam bracelets and it definitely is not sold here.

The first floor introduces history and cultural relics (tickets are US$10), and you can buy gifts (postcards, wood carvings, and lots of shells, etc.) on the second floor.

Full of history and culture presented chronologically as you wind your way through the room. The lady in charge may have time to give you a personal tour. Gift shop upstairs. Worth a visit although $15 was a bit steep.

Good to understand the basic history of Palau, the museum is relatively small and more exhibition would have been preferred on the second floor rather than purely a gift shop

Loads of fascinating info and artifacts about palau’s history and culture. Worth the $10 entry fee and there is a gift shop on the second level.

A great place to see Palau in history, the way society has transformed and how it took the foreign influences. The art work, depiction of regular life through every day pictures, traditional Bai and remains of WWII make this place a go to site when you see visits Koror city. Make sure the visit is between 9 to 5.
