This is such a fabulous little local boutique style clothing store. They carry tons of local designers and have a variety of clothing. There’s a small shoe selection in the back, with men’s and women’s options. The staff is very knowledgeable about the products and where things are from. Big fan! Always make a stop when I’m in Vancouver :)

Beyond thrilled with my new boots. The experience at EC’s is always impeccable. Amazing staff. Awesome collection. A breath of fresh air to shop in.

I have never felt so fat shamed, and judged. I’m not even fat. I’m small… I walked into the store (wearing a big coat… and yes having a snack stick out of my bag cause I was walking around and picked something up). I asked if they had a smaller size in this shirt that was a large. One girl then said it fits small, so if it was a medium it could work but then I said it was a large. A different girl then said you should still try it on, I replied I would like it fit not baggy. Then I was walking around being followed… I then asked to try on this denim jacket. They took it off the mannequin and said to me I’m sorry we only have a small. But I am a small so then I asked if I could try it on again. I took off my jacket and got looked up and down by a girl like she was validating my size. I loved the jacket so I bought it. But for 400$ I should not be treated like that. There was one girl who checked me out who was lovely. But I left feeling shocked and not well. I love this jacket but regret supporting a business where I felt treated with such judgement. I know my size, and body. I know my size. No one has the right to tell you what will fit. It’s up to you to make that choice.

Absolute best clothing shop in town, 10/10 retail experience every single time. Kildare and his team are incredibly welcoming & super no pressure while stocking a huge number of local and international brands' most special items. All I want for Christmas is a Eugene Choo gift voucher so I can go back again & they can help me decide what size of thing is best & tell me how to wash it & help me feel really great about my next purchase. Thanks & please never ever close!

I love this shop. It's small, yet their selection is wonderful and whoever is in charge of merchandising-- bravo! The items I have purchased here are unique and timeless and have lasted for a long time. They're pieces I'll probably pass down to to family members who I know will take care of them when I'm an old, old lady. Prices are quite high, but you're really getting what you pay for. If you're on a budget, they have a warehouse sale annually where I'll be damned if you don't find something that you love. The staff is extremely kind and it's just an overall delight to shop at. Bonus: it smells *amazing* in there like... all the time. I have found that sometimes their prices are just slightly above what you can find elsewhere. Personally, I'd rather support local, kind folks and I hope this shop remains a Vancouver gem forever. Besides, see that point I made about the warehouse sales. Save all that money you would otherwise spend on fast fashion and come here for quality, beautiful pieces. Your closet will thank you!

While I didn't purchase anything today, I left feeling satisfied (a rare occasion for shopping experiences). The staff were wonderful; they hovered in a generous and caring way that made me feel neither pressured nor surveiled. They were helpful (thank you for helping me locate the hanger I misplaced) and personable, and maintained an incredibly orderly establishment. Their clothing, catering to all genders, was luxurious and on trend. They carry garments that are of the heritage variety that will stay beautiful for a lifetime as well as garments that are distinctly seasonal. They also carry shoes and accessories which are displayed to show off their quality and beauty. Scarves, toques, jewelry, sunglasses, boots, oxfords, they have it all. To be transparent, their prices are high, reflecting the high-end brands they carry. I have my eye on a mustard knit sweater and some leather gloves. I doubt I will be disappointed once I save up for these items to add to my wardrobe. It is comforting to be in a store that unpretentiously carries quality goods.

Exceptional service in a beautifully curated space with clothing for men and women. This shop and it's awesome people pioneered modern retailing on Main Street. They are as relevant today as when the boutique first opened.

Google
I've gotten genuinely friendly customer service here and no pretentious fashionista vibes as opposed to a lot of other local boutique shops I visit that sell higher priced items. There's always more than one thing that I find here and end up purchasing with no regret even if I'd gone slightly over budget!

Yelp
There's something to be said for a good editor. Authors, magazines, newspapers and even websites will pay a small fortune to have the right editor nip, snip and chop the item in question down to a perfect, pared-down version of its former self. So why not do the same in stores? Eugene Choo does a fine job of editing (selecting and laying out) its merchandise. Despite a slim selection of eclectic and colourful clothing, the Main Street mainstay (in the same location for at least a decade now) has - just like a perfectly proofed publication - something for everyone. The labels at EC aren't just well-known - they're also well-designed. My personal fave: Noa Noa (surprise surprise). These are displayed perfectly next to vintage, one-of-a-kind and locally made pieces - obviously by an editor with an excellent eye!

Yelp
Good selection of nicely curated items. I bought an awesome pair of on sale Ateliers boots here. Great customer service. The employees are not overly pushy. I will be back the next time I'm in Vancouver.

Yelp
I would like to say that I really luved going here but now a days I tend to leave it off my list when I am doing my retail therapy. I was in the other day and I am never blown away by the customer service. Most times they hardly even acknowledge my existence. Not that I expect them to fawn over me but at least say hello. As for the mens clothing selection they hardly have a selection at all, sure they have some fun pieces but they tend to be the same kinda stuff, as most of the other retailers have for men. Maybe their demographic is not the male shopper but at least if your going to have the department you should make it interesting. One of the reasons I like going to main street is the vibe, and the people, and I would suspect the same from their clothing stores, but alas this one does not live up to this yelpers expectations! sorry guys

Yelp
I agree with all the others who commented on the weirdly disconnected owners, they are dismissive and a little rude, like you're an inconvenience to them. What I really dislike is the heavy perfume that they spray constantly. I bought a great shirt there once but could never get the smell out. I now know why Calvin Klein's Eternity was given that name - you can NEVER get rid of it!! Great shirt but a waste of money. My gf won't go there because the perfume gives her a whopping headache immediately. But the Choosies don't care; they're too cool for commerce.

Yelp
I want to so like Eugene Choo, as they support local Canadian designers but they are not making it easy to be likable. I have been dropping by this store for over 10 years and consistently the owners and staff carry themselves with an air of dismissiveness, like you're an inconvenience to them because frankly they are too cool for school. Please reflect on the feedback that you are getting from your customers, nice hurts no one. In my recent visit I was also disappointed that they are starting to carry clothing lines you can find at the Block and Still Life versus carry their own unique brands sourced through meticulous curation. Plus everything was so tightly packed that it made it difficult to sift through the merchandise.

Yelp
Staggering between a 3 and a 4 star, I have chosen to give this a 3 1/2 stars. I enter the shop, and while the salesgirl was at the till helping someone, I was not greeted, and even after she was done helping him, I was still not greeted. This is not a big store and I feel that a simple hello would have done the job. Very cute shop with lovely merchandise. Spring trench coats and dresses, and basics such as cardigans and hoodies, shirts, all selected carefully. Lots of APC and Noa Noa picks. Items are not cheap here, but the design and the quality of the clothing make up for it. There clothing selection extends into their mini backyard..which I felt a little weird when I had to walk outside. Men's and women's clothing available, although the womens' far exceeds then mens'. Mens and womens shoes also available, many of them Jack Purcells in different materials/colors. A good place for browsing and purchasing some investment pieces, as long as I'm greeted the next time I'm here.

Yelp
It's not fun when your hubby is skinnier than you are. But he reminds me that it's worst for him because he can't find clothes that will fit and not make him look like a kid wearing grown men's clothes. Thankful Eugene Choo has great styles and pieces that almost look tailored made on him. For example, he found this great sports coat with elbow patches that fits him in the shoulders and his damn skinny waist. Yes it's quite pricey, but my man's fine and he deserves clothes that reflect that. This shop is great for modern skinny fits with a twist of old school classic. P.S. We've had good service from salespeople who aren't pushy but helpful when you need them to be.

Yelp
Happy, super helpful, and very knowledgeable staff and owner. I leave the shop always in a better mood and very inspired wether my arms are laden with goodies or empty handed. Ps. Excellent stock

Yelp
Never had a bad experience. + Lines like APC, Native Youth, Steven Alan, Sunja Link, just to name a few. The aroma everyone is talking about is the Votivo candles, I find the smell very pleasant. I especially like the jewelry case filled with unique finds.

Yelp
I've lived in Toronto, Vancouver, Southern California and San Francisco and I will tell you that not one store I've shopped at in any of these cities has left as much of an impression on me as Eugene Choo. Although the space and selection were spare at times, everything in it felt as if it was well curated. I can't wait to come here again on my visits to the city.

Yelp
Amongst all the new brands, labels and faces eternally popping up on Main Street, Eugene Choo has almost become a landmark. Only a handful of stores in this area can boast the same kind of longevity. I think it's the font. There's something nostalgic in the way the 'E' curves. It resembles the childish cursive used in the opening credits of Sofia Coppola's "The Virgin Suicides". The boutique's stock is very eclectic and unique with a good mix of both internationally renowned designers and local emerging talent. The pieces here were clearly chosen with practicality in mind. In search for the perfect romper for some Saturday afternoon playground fun? In need of a plaid number to go with your picnic blanket? That said, though, sometimes the price points (particularly for some of the local designers) are a bit high and over-ambitious for what they are.

Yelp
OH how I miss you Eugene Choo! Why do you not have an online store? I love this store... the unique labels they carry... and whoever is their buyer who clearly has a great editing eye.

Yelp
Definitely my favourite Main Street clothes store. Not a huge range of menswear, but very well selected. I've always found Kildare (the owner) and sales assistant Ian to be very helpful, even if it means recommending another store. I had the opportunity to take some photographs there and ask Kildare some questions for a blog post, which you can read here: http://www.junaphotography.com/blog/?p=809 Looking forward to frequenting Eugene Choo for many years to come.

Yelp
This is the strangest place. Very disconnected staff, too cool to smile and they ruin the clothes they want you to pay top dollar for by spraying cheap perfume all day long. Even the shoe annex they opened smells like a bathroom Glade product . Gross

Yelp
I like you Mr. Choo, but I might never buy anything. My girlfriend brought me to this ultra-hip place to check out art and accessories. The attitude is a bit lofty and very Main street, but the service was nice. I always feel a bit out of place, just because I'm not super-duper hipster etc., but the clothes were coolio-doolio and the art work was neat-o! Good to peruse...have some fun and get lost in it all.

Yelp
Customer service is less to be desired and more times than most none of the clothes fit me even though I am not huge but not skinny either. I did manage to find a little something for a friends B-day, however, other than that this is not my go to place.

Yelp
I want to love this store, I really do, with their emphasis on Canadian designed and created clothing, but I never manage to fall in love with anything about it. There are some unique items here, and some labels that I really like (check out Imaginary Friend Apparel - definitely a stand out!), but what bothers me every time I come in here is the unfriendly and indifferent service. It all seems very precious and even pretentious, when the product just isn't worth getting pretentious over. Really. It's worth checking out if you want to see what's going on in the Canadian fashion world for women and men, but don't expect a feel good experience. And the prices are rather steep.

Yelp
Just had a fantastic customer experience at Eugene Choo - staff and store manager Kildare were patient, resourceful and genuine. Thanks to all you guys for making my rainy season!

Yelp
I received excellent and thoughtful service, and appreciated the unique merchandise mix. I bought several gifts and will return next time I'm in Vancouver.

Yelp
Eugene Choo is not for everyone. Located on Main St. in what is possibly Vancouver's most diverse and enigmatic neighbourhood, this fashion retailer offers prized goods in small quantities. Designer labels imported from around the globe are represented here, mixed and matched with some local content. The clothing and accessories themselves are surprisingly versatile. Many of the selections are takes on the classics; raw denim, slim trousers, unadorned button-ups and thick wool sweaters. There are also some more exotic pieces, mostly in the form of accessories and a small selection of books. While Choo's stock will excite fashion connoisseurs and purveyors of well made goods, the higher prices associated with aforementioned goodies and a somewhat inaccessible sales staff will likely annoy those shoppers who are unmoved by the world of high fashion and simply want a pair of Dickies or Dockers. Even if you don't buy anything it is worth checking out as an independently-owned alternative to the vast conglomerates which dominate the sphere of retail fashion. And if you get woozy from the prices or the audacious angles of the employee hair cuts, and need to sit down, there are plenty of excellent restaurants and cafés in the vicinity.
